Food decent but table service was almost nonexistent. Major disconnect when the server never refills your water, walks by your empty plates four times only to never clear the table then just brings the check automatically without checking in on our meal or if we wanted a final course or coffee. The service made for a very sad wasted lunch experience in this great city. In summary this front of the house experience would have failed restaurant wars.

It is a lovely place but very expensive compared to similar concept restaurants in Austin - Emmer & Rye, Olamaie, Rosewood, Pitchfork Pretty. The food is good but portions are small. We decided to try dessert, which was very good. But that was when we lost the waiter. Finally had to ask someone else to get our check. Opting for dessert added an extra 45 minutes to our meal, by the time we got our check and paid. And so we had to rush to our next engagement. I’m glad I tried the restaurant so I satisfied my curiosity but will probably not invest 2.5 hours in a dinner here again.

Very cool space. Love Chef Kish's menu and food - with only one exception on a single small plate. Wine list needs to be expanded with more options in the $70-130 range - it's either cheap or expensive - more moderate options would be appreciated. Service was better this time than prior visits (our 4th time here) . Water server was exceptional and appreciated!

Tuna was way off. I feared getting sick. Burger was good and the corn and carrots was amazing. Rice cake was way too salty. We mentioned something about the tuna being off and I’m surprised that they did not refund us for that. We sent it back almost as if it wasn’t eaten.

Disappointing brunch items; I have eaten there twice before for dinner which was much better

This time, there were barely any patrons in the restaurant and yet the service was extremely slow: the French toast was very confusing, the rigatoni was bland, and the duck legs were tough

Broccoli was descent and the bread pudding was pretty good; overall I am no longe interestEd in returning.

Went for friends birthday! Amazing aesthetic and even better food. I ordered the steak and it was so tasty! Our server (maybe Jonathan) was so sweet and knowledgeable about each dish. When I return to Austin I have to go again.

Beautiful space that seems well suited to accommodate groups or for special occasions. However, menu is kind of random and food/beverages are pretty pricey by Austin standards. We went for brunch and the cheapest bottle of wine is $65. Additionally, brunch staples such as an egg-centric dish or Benedict are missing from the menu. Instead, you can find dishes like a turkey sandwich, rigatoni, or duck leg. I ended up going with the burger which was solid, but goes for $25 if you want to add bacon and fries.

VERY limited brunch menu. My drink was about 1.5 oz and cost $12. And was not even good. Didn’t refill sodas for our kids till I asked. Never refilled our tiny water glasses. Brought out the appetizers with the meal. Well, one of them. The other appetizer came out after we were already eating our meal. Poached eggs were pretty much hard boiled. Nice try though. The only reason we went was for something they just took off the menu. I guess if you’re staying in the hotel and are vegan or vegetarian or love chick peas and quinoa it’s great.

Unbelievable food. The restaurant ambiance was wonderful and the staff were polite and caring. Eating Kristen’s food, I found myself discovering new elements of the dish with each bite. The nuances of her food experience leave you wanting to eat anything she may create— it excites you to explore food. Overall a fantastic, must come back, and great experience. The only thing I wish happened differently is that I asked our server if the Executive Chef was in the building because we had flown from Arizona and specifically chose to eat at Arlo because of Kristen. The server was kind and said yes and she’d ask the chef if she had time to say hello— would have been amazing to meet the chef as we were all big fans. We happened to see her from the distance having a quick meeting but alas, we didn’t get a chance to say hello.

The food was overly salty and inedible. In particular, we had the fusilli pasta, the burger, and the malfaldine. A lot of the components on the dishes were rich and overpowering. Although the wait staff were pleasant and accommodating, the overall service was lacking. My food sat cold as I waited for 10 minutes to get new set ups since they took my fork with the pasta dish we sent back for being too salty. They left dirty dirty flatware on our table throughout the dinner. We were also presented us with an incorrect check. The dining room was so poorly lit, you couldn’t identify what was on the plate.

We walked away hungry, disappointed, and thirsty from the salt overload. Would not recommend.

Service was terrible. 15 minutes late for our RSVP, so they made us sit in the bar. This despite the fact we could see that the dining room was half empty for the entirety of our meal. The bar was full of drunk idiots with no shoes on from the pool. Service in the bar area was painfully slow.

Always impressed by what Kristen Kish is able to create with such simple ingredients! The carrots and corn are always a huge hit! And that crispy rice is a must, but you might want to get your own! By far, one of my favorite date night dinners and we got to see the bats flying away this time!!

Nice staff and setting but the food was not great. The soup was lukewarm and the cheese sandwich did not have enough turkey - poor meat to bread ratio.

Ambiance and service was great. It did take a very long time for the entrees to come out so they gave us a complimentary app. The biggest disappointment was the gnocchi. I had previously frequented Arlo and they had great Italian gnocchi (pasta/potato). This time I was served a different type of gnocchi that was fried wheat flour. It was unexpected and not good.

Overall, beautiful space and great service. Space a little noisy. Food a miss, did enjoy Burata, but felt all other food items needed something to bring the flavors together and out. Crispy rice was confusing, flavors not cohesive and served on top was a large piece of bunched cilantro, didn’t make sense. Chicken and Squash, very simple nothing special. The Mulfandini pasta, good, but wanted more from this dish. Grilled Cauliflower lacked salt. Came during 35$ prefixed Urban Roots menu, which I love that you guys are supporting this great local organization, thank you. Overall would comeback and try new items, however would be really upset if I paid full price and got the same quality of food. Will wait to return until reviews on Yelp improve.

There were 4 of us and we ordered small plates family style all the dishes were very good. They start on the light side and brought out the vegetable type dishes, than the pasta dishes and finished with the protein dishes. Everything we ordered was very flavorful and good.

not sure what was happening at the host stand on the day we arrived but whatever it was couldn’t have been proper service expectations. arrived at 6.40pm to check into our 7.00pm restaurant to a nearly empty dining room and hostess asked us to wait at the bar. Was our table unavailable? Was the staff yet to arrive? No reason given. We waited. And waited. 7.00 passes and now we walk to the host stand and wait a little longer. Finally we got walked to an empty table in an empty section of the dining room that had been open since we arrived with a server who was one of the many we saw standing around.

Mind you, the bar was absolutely slammed from a conference group coming to happy hour. The slightest bit of common sense would try to seat guests with dinner reservations AWAY from the bar and into the dining room where wait staff was standing around to elevate pressure from the slow service at the bar due to over crowding.

Mind blown at the lack of basic host skills shown - won’t be back.

We went to Arlo Grey for their prix fixe menu benefitting Urban Roots. First of all, such an awesome cause and so cool to see a restaurant give back. Our server was so sweet and accommodating and gave great suggestions for wine and our meals. The dishes themselves were gorgeous- the pork collar, burrata, and malfaldini were bomb! I could honestly eat that pasta dish every. damn. day. The interior is cute and quirky, and the whole experience was comfortable yet upscale. Highly recommend!

I ate at Arlo Grey during their Helping Hands promotion, which offered a 3-course prix fixe menu with wine for $35. It was delicious. For a first course, I had the malfaldini, flat, wide pasta served with a beautifully rich mushroom sauce. My main course was the roasted pork collar with mushrooms and celeriac. Unlike many similar restaurant dishes, the pork tasted freshly cooked, and was nicely brown and crisp on one side. It was sliced and interspersed with thin slices of celeriac. There was also parsely and celery, and a nice morel mushroom sauce. The wine was a decent Beaujolais.

I sat at a high table on the pool side. Though the seat was a stool, it had a low back which made it pretty comfortable. Most of the room is conventional tables. The bar is stylish.

We enjoyed their charity pre fixe tasting menu. All four tasting plates exceeded expectations. The homemade pasta was to die for. The chicken was beyond perfectly prepared. We can't say enough good things about our experience. Definitely check it out when you're in Austin!

This is the best restaurant in Austin. It’s laid back while still being stylish. It’s affordable as hell. They serve up some of the most innovative dishes I’ve ever had.

The sweet corn and carrots with smoked yogurt might be the best thing I have ever eaten. The crispy rice dish I just had melted my brain. I have tried at least 15 different dishes here and all have been perfect.

Arlo Grey is a reason to go to Austin. It should be on any foodie bucket list.

We went there for a birthday celebration dinner. They made it very special by saying happy birthday to the person by name. They treated us like VIPs while we were there. There is a wonderful view of the Congress Street bridge and the bats flying out at dusk. The food was very good. Service was very good also.
