We had an 8:15 reservation on Sat. 09/03/17. Arrived right on time but had to wait for a table for 10 mins, even though plenty empty tables. Sat down at a nice table, then proceeded to wait 15 mins before anyone even acknowledged us or brought us a menu. Finally a blonde woman hurriedly came over and asked if we were ready with our order. No introduction, no offer of a drink order. We asked if there were any specials and were told no. Then we asked what about the catch of the day? Oh yeah, she said and told us the dish. We ordered our food and a drink. A gentlemen came by and dropped off some delicious bread, but it was 15 more mins before our not so friendly waitress dropped of our drinks. We were on our appetizers already, which were delicious (watermelon salad and shrimp cocktail). When my husband mentioned to waitress that we were unhappy with service from her, she said they were short staffed and she was waiting for things too. Not apologetic at all. Had a really delicious filet mignon (which was cooked well instead of medium as ordered. We didn't dare send it back because we would never see it again.) The chef did a great job with the moistness and seasoning...my guess is it was medium when he cooked it and it just sat waiting for waitress and cooked more while resting. Waitress was finally prompt with dessert menus, but then after 20 mins of waiting for her to come back for our order, we asked for manager and left without dessert. Food was really good so I would give the place another try, just with a different waitress.
The service wasn't good very slow. It took 25 minutes to get our bill. The waiter was never around if you needed something. The bread came with dinner. The mussels came cold instead of hot and the steak was tough and over cooked. The prices they are charging you shouldn't have any issues. We will not be going back.
Great brunch. Friendly staff.
Excellent food nice servers Poor timing
Food was very poor. The bouillabaisse was terrible.
Wonderful meal during our Montauk vacation. "For the Table" appetizers were perfect. All of our entries ("catch of the day", raw bar, pasta) were delicious and well presented. We were not rushed at all, and each course was well paced. Wine was a bit pricey. Enzo took excellent care of us.
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food! I loved the watermelon and feta salad and the burrata. Food is a bit pricey and there isn't a kids menu but still amazing! I would definitely recommend it!
Food was excellent and the service was perfect. I can't wait to go back!!
Really enjoyed our second visit to the Arbor. Nice selection of craft beer, excellent wines, healthy menu with local fish and meats. The scallops were outstanding, and the roasted chicken was crisp and juicy. Service was top notch, we dined early (6:30 pm) and had a nice quite table.
Amazing food and atmosphere.. All the staff was exceptional accept our waitress.. she just couldn't keep it together & borderline rude. Thankfully Janes came to our rescue.
The hostess was rude and said she gave away our table after 10 min after telling us they wait 20.. and the restaurant was empty. We pushed and were seated. Basically she was crazy. I talked to the manager and he apologized but honestly they should have done more .. she was awful to us
What a hidden gem! We did a birthday brunch here for my friends 30th and the food was so good. Also after Montauk prices this is the best you're gonna get! 29$ bottomless Rose, Sparkling or Mimosa. Our waitress was wonderful and food came in a good amount of time. The White Bean Hummus is a must!
Ambience was chic.
We arrived fairly early for our 6:15 reservation and got seated outside. Upon sitting outside there was a couple that was clearly arguing and couldn't keep their voices down. We requested we sit inside where we were able to enjoy the wonderful decor and warmly lit ambiance. The staff, food, and experience were wonderful. This meal, for no celebration other than having a date night with my wife, are right up there with our engagement and wedding night dinners! Highly recommended.
Beautiful place! Service was good and food was pretty good as well. Crab cocktail was a definite hit!
Beautifully designed interiors. Excellent food preparation and presentation. Very interesting and tasty special drinks. Delicious appetizers and entrees, especially the seafood. Very attentive and friendly service. An amazing find in a restaurant-rich location.
Food was very good but pricey. Wait staff was a little too 'present' at the table.
Open table menu didn't match what the actual menu was which was disappointing and disorienting. Wait staff was extremely attentive. Chef was extremely inflexible - wouldn't make a dish with non dairy items or put sauce on side even with understanding of potential compromise to dish integrity. Chef should have worried more about properly cleaning the shrimp he sent out (still with veins in need of removal). The one "pasta" dish had a single thin piece of pastain the bowl. Bar tender was great and attentive. Truly enjoyed this location much better when it was under Ciao. Sorry. Was just very disappointing.
Service overall was terrible. Arrived early for our reservation so we didn't expect to be seated but we watched 3 small tables sit empty for an hour. After all that Was still sat 15 min past our reservation. Took forever for our table to be acknowledged. Had to flag down a random waiter for bread that is complimentary for every table (except ours maybe) Side orders never showed up. Took 15 min for a drink to arrive so we cancelled it. From the look of it, we weren't the only ones experiencing these issues. No management in sight. Worst part, the food was really good. Too bad the rest of the experience ruined it.
The restaurant was way too noisy for easy dinner conversation. The service was poor, even though there was plenty of staff. We had not received our appetizer and suddenly the meals showed up. Definitely a place to be seen, lots of Hamptons crowd. Small menu. Food was uninspired and wine list was kitschy but not great.
The food was amazing! We racked up a bit of a bill but it was well worth it. The service could have been nicer. I almost felt like I was a nuisance to our waitress being there for dinner. I would still happily go back and just hope for a different server.
My husband and I dined here while vacationing in Amagansett with our 13 year old and 10 year old. We loved the whole feel of the restaurant...the new build out was cozy yet modern and clean. The service was friendly and on point. The food was delicious....I loved my mussels and pomme frites. Can't say a negative thing about it. It was one of our favorite dining experiences during our vacation...especially the cool outdoor bar/ lounge with warming heaters, cozy couches, blankets and even a foosball table to help entertain the kiddos. It is a versatile space as a family spot, a respite while waiting for the train, and then it has all the makings to morph into a cool scene late night.
Great cocktails, really enjoyed the ginger with the shrub. Dessert course really knocked the meal out of the park!
Arbor doesn't disappoint. It is a lovely restaurant with ample portions of excellent food.
Fantastic cocktails from the team imported from The Garret in NYC, and a great bar vibe. The food can be hit or miss earlier in the season, but is a solid option in the summer, in a nice setting, and conveniently right off the train if you're desperate for a bite!
The food was great and the restaurant is beautiful. The staff is very attentive. The noise level is high but we understand how girls are in a group! Our only objection and we knew from last year, is that their drink prices are very high. The wine and beer are reasonable, but liquor is very over priced.
Timing was off on this weekend before Memorial Day despite attentive wait staff. Food did not come out at the same time and one meat dish was not prepared to order making this a somewhat negative experience overall. I suspect this will improve going into the summer and would still recommend.
Terrible experience. They were unprepared and the food (once served) was nowhere near worth the money
First time there, chose an extremely busy night, not really a fair time to judge, staff frantic, food took long.
Will go back though some nice menu options and wine choices. Nice decor. Caring managers.
Service and ambience was great. I loved my pumpkin soup but my son's pasta was a funny mix of too many ingredients that didn't really go together and did not look very appetizing, however overall it is a nice restaurant with great service.
Absolutely amazing! The food was so fresh and delicious.. We are vegetarian and the were as accommodating as a restaurant could be.. Tasted incredible.
Service was great, food was excellent, try butternut squash soup, excellent, menu a little pricey, and limited, but food and presentation was great, attention to detail!
Great setting, beautiful restaurant. Arnaud's team works well and efficiently, the menu mostly French brasserie inspired in small but has a good selection. All the food was excellent and arrived quickly. A few things were missing, a choice of cheese along with the deserts offered would be great, a menu of the post-dinner drinks (we elected a scotch, but discovered that they actually much more choices when we went at the bar to enjoy our drinks), and maybe a little moderation for the cost of said post dinner drinks, as two of our scotch would buy a bottle retail... that's a bit on the high side and certainly more expensive than most Manhattan eateries
Still would recommend the place, great dinner, great vibe, great service, as for the price, you are still technically in the Hamptons I guess..
While the food was decent, the choices are quite limited, there is more emphasis on a gimmicky wine offering, the noise level was extremely high and the overall service lacking.
Very limited menu. Just a few basic entrees. Taste was fine, nothing to write home about. Don't know why people make such a big deal about this place.
This was our third visit to Arbor. We came with very close friends one of whom had grave difficulty with the listings on the menu. Unfortunately, the only fish offered that day was Tile fish, which was of limited attractiveness. My wife and I ordered the seafood pasta which I had enjoyed on two prior occasions. The dish was terribly disappointing this time in that it was not "al dente" and unbearably soggy, as if it had been re-warmed. All-in-all, a most unsatisfactory experience. However, I must say that a member of the management staff did try to ameliorate our unhappiness. He was attentive and gracious but the die was cast on our dinner by the time he came over to the table.
Nicely decorated place, feel like in Meat Packing Dist in NYC. Slow service, extremely long wait between appetizers and entrees (only 3 entrees and 1 side). Manager apologized for the delayed. Good recommendation for bottle of wine, tasty side orders of morel risotto and veggies, good lamb chops with scallops (surf and turf). I really wanted the duck but wasn't on the menu that nite. The NY strip steak was slightly over cooked (requested medium rare), ok, nothing special; lastly the roasted chicken was dried, not much taste. Extremely loud, barely can hear the person sitting across the table.
Service was spotty, took a long time to get our check, food was just ok for the price
Food was good, but the wines by the glass menu was unbelievably pretentious (one of the white wines was described as having a "wet stone" finish whatever that means). On top of that we ordered two wines listed in the menu and after waiting to be served were informed in each case that the restaurant was out of both. The manager offered us tastings of two other wines one of which we chose. Under the circumstances, he should have not charged us for the wine, but he did not choose that option. When the final bill came we were charged for 3 tuna tartares - we only ordered 2 - and $4 for of all things water (the menu made reference to giving $4 to a charity which aides people around the world who do not have a source of water if you order filtered water, which we did not). The bill was adjusted, but the damage had been done. Would certainly not recommend this restaurant unless the get their act together.
The ambiance was beautiful. They did a great job renovating the restaurant. The seating and lighting are spectacular. However, I suggest expanding the wine list and re vamping the menu to include more fish and meat choices. Not everyone loves lamb and duck :) I also like to see a fish soup or chioppino type of selection on the menu. I would definitely dine here again and refer my friends and family.
Beautiful interior with a mix of cozy spots and room for big groups. Friendly staff and attentive GM. Food was delicious especially the mussels. Great wine. Only downside is that the outdoor space backs up to the road so there is a bit of noise but not too much. Perhaps next year the greenery will be in better shape and will block out the view and sound off the road.
