Pappardelle alla Bolognese
Great food and great service! Would come back again.
As always, outstanding service, food and atmosphere!
Service was slow, they appeared short staffed. But otherwise, an outstanding evening of great food and wine.
The service was exceptional and the food was excellent! We brought our two little kids and it was a great setting as a family. We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and the experience was memorable. We will definitely be coming back in the future.
Just a fairly average Italian meal. The salad was beautiful, the Bolognese was dry and not very good. I did ask for it without cheese, would would have added the salt it needed but would not have helped with the dryness. I wouldn’t drive back for this experience. There are better restaurants closer to Waikiki Beach.
Service was slow and food was good but in my opinion overrated. Restaurant was also very humid as the location has no cross breeze and they only have 3 fans from what I saw. Prices are also over priced for the amount of food you receive. Ordered a dirty grey goose martini and they charged $14 for the grey goose plus an additional $6 to make it dirty aka just to add olive juice! Overall experience was good but probably won’t be returning.
Excellent pasta and seafood, with gracious service. Wine selection is pricey, indoor space is loud compred to out, but truly delicous and worth it overall
It wasn’t the servers fault, but being rushed to chug our wine at 9:55 pm was upsetting, and stained the evening.
We love Arancino's. The setting us terrific and the food is fabulous. Last time I had the spaghetti carbonara - it was incredible!
Great Date Night location.
Always great food and service
Most comfortable and safe dining experience with amazing food as always!
Wonderful dinner! Everything was so delicious and we truly enjoyed our time. Will definitely come back.
Amazing food as always.
Ambiance and food was great!
The food and the service were both magnificent. I am a chef, and yet this is one of the best meals I have enjoyed in years! The cost was not insignificant, but the meal and service were both truly amazing!
The restaurant staff followed Covid safety guidelines. Mostly outdoor seating.
Minimal wait time for service and food. Staff very courteous and knowledgable about the menu and wine. Spaghetti ai Ricci di Mare and Tagliatelle ai Frutti di Mare were excellent. Shared the Owner's Favorite Pizza as an appetizer and took the leftovers home. Overall, our dinner was a very pleasant experience.
Truly outstanding meal. The lamb was spectacular. The branzino was fresh snd mildly seasoned but wonderful with the herb sauce and red pepper flakes added. The rosemary potatoes were the best I’ve tasted. The salad was beautiful and not overdressed. Pizza was very simple but solid margherita. My spouse said his pasta was light and good, not as flavorful as it could have been. Our waitress was fantastic - warm, friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu.
We always have a great meal here. Maria is so friendly. We also had great service. The food was delicious. My favorite place on the island.
The entrees seemed almost fairly priced for upscale Italian, but the portions should’ve been a bit more generous (this is Italian after all). This same applies to the salads and appetizers, though this same is far more pronounced here. Ultimately though; everything was delicious and our waiter was excellent. The executive chef even paid a visit to our table so how about that!!!
It’s a great treat - it for every day.
Birthday. Very nice surprise!
An extremely enjoyable evening! The most excellent food and service! Probably the best Italian restaurant on the island! A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion!
It was outstanding. Food excellent, service under Josh’s leadership second to none.
The server convinced me to try the uni spaghetti despite not caring for uni and I was so glad I took her advice. The chef made an appearance to present his special dessert and congratulate us on our anniversary which I thought was a nice touch. Really the only minor thing was water splashing down on the awning above us every 5-10 minutes that sometimes would leave a drop or two on my plate (which was cleared away). The manager apologized and it stopped after a few times. I would definitely like to come back here but maybe a little later in the evening.
Great to have this place back open again. A family fav...
Always excellent food and service (thank you Alissa). Fritto de Calamari was the best ever, not over fried, marinara sauce accompanying was lovely. Kona Kampachi carpaccio was delicious, great complementary flavors. We always like to take one of their delicious pizzas home for the next day.
3rd Anniversary and was lucky to get Keola a
Wonderful evening celebration for our anniversary! Excellent food and service.
We love this restaurant very much!
One of the best.
Great food and very friendly service and they try very hard to accommodate us.
Everything we ordered was delicious and nicely presented! Service was great. They celebrated my birthday with a beautiful desert, which was stunning and impressive! I’ll definitely come back : )
Food was surprisingly good. Our server, Tim, was quite attentive. Very nice for our anniversary dinner.
A wonderful experience! The food was delicious, service is excellent and the ambiance of the resort is to die for.
Best authentic Italian food outside of Italy in a very, very long time…
Fellow world food traveler and I continued our journey; this time in Italia, a la Giappone, at Arancino at The Kahala. We anxiously awaited its reopening and it took a while before we could obtain a reservation, and even then it was a later time than we like. Anticipation, anticipation (to steal a line from Carly Simon).
The menu hasn’t changed much (thankfully) and the wine list offers reasonably priced and more expensive options. We chose a 2016 Borgogno Barolo after learning they were out of the 2014 Oddero Barolo Brunate. Keola, our server, decanted the wine into a beautiful decanter (I want one or two for my home) and we savored the delicate floral undertones of this wine from Piemonte.
We selected two appetizers, the Carpaccio di Pesce, thin slices of Kona Kampachi with rounds of hearts of palm and a delicate yuzu dressing, and the Affetato Misto, an Italian take on a charcuterie board. The bresaola, salamino picante, coppa and prosciutto crudo were delicious. We didn’t care for the prosciutto cotto .. it was basically sliced ham.
Our entrees were the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, Parmigiano Reggiano, cream, Pancetta and a poached egg atop nicely cooked pasta, and the Spaghetti ai Ricci di Mare, a white wine, tomato cream sauce with Uni atop spaghetti. This latter dish is why I come to Arancino at The Kahala. Other restaurants offer Ricci di Mare but only Arancino moves away from the traditional recipe with the tomato-cream sauce. The Carbonara looked so decadent after my tablemate mixed the luscious yolk with her pasta.
Dessert, oh desserts! We ordered the Tiramisu, Arancino’s deconstructed version of the classic dessert, and Gelato Affogato, hot espresso atop two scoops of vanilla gelato. I gave a scoop of the oh-so-delicious gelato to my tablemate because I’m lactose intolerant and I pushed my luck with the Ricci di Mare.
Final thoughts … Arancino’s at The Kahala remains (to me) one of the best Italian restaurants in Honolulu. Highly recommended!
Dinner. Got married this morning. Our server was awesome! Great food and presentation!!
Great food and service. Mahalo!
Finally able to dine here, I have loved everything!! The food made me feel at home, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere so magic. I particularly loved the music, 60’s italian songs that brought me back to my childhood. We were celebrating a new job and they gave us a beautifully decorated dessert plate. I would give 10 stars if I could!
Mahalo nui for this amazing experience!
