Went on a Sunday night for dinner. The only complaint I have is that they were out of stock on NA beer and the sparkling Rose by the glass.
First time trying Appetit Bistro, and it did not disappoint!
Best French Bistro in the area since Bon Nuit in New Canaan closed some years back!
Excellent food, great service - so glad we tried it - we'll definitely be back :)
Rack of lamb was delicious. Sound bounces off glass. There were two larger parties dining at the same time we were and found it very noisy.
Dinner with three friends on a quiet Wednesday night. Great menu and good surprise that certain bottles of wine were discounted on Wednesday. But unfortunately, at least 2 we chose were unavailable. Lots of back and forth on available liquor for cocktails as well. Overall food was good, some dishes very good (like the mushroom ravioli, lemon sole and charred Caesar salad). Service was mixed but I think largely because we only saw one waiter who was essentially serving the whole restaurant. Lingering challenges of the pandemic. We'll give it another try in a month or so
My husband and I had an excellent meal here last night. For appetizers we had the octopus and salade Lyonnaise (both were outstanding) and we both had the Branzino which was delicious. Service was attentive but unobtrusive and the lighting and noise level were perfect. We'll definitely be back again soon. Highly recommend!
Restaurant was empty on a Monday might which was fine with my wife and me. The mushroom ravioli and steak frites were both outstanding. Portion size was big and taste was delicious. Nice French ambience and our waiter was perfect.
The food was outstanding! We loved everything we ordered.
We didn’t seem to have a dedicated server. We waited a long time for someone to come over to order a drink. Once the drinks were ordered a different server came each time and we would have to constantly call someone over. That being said, every server that came to the table was very helpful and kind.
Food was very reasonable given the quality. We were impressed with the service and the ambience as well. Welcome addition to the neighborhood. Only suggestion would be to add soufflé to the menu.
Outstanding food and service. Monday through Wednesday they have a four course tasting menu. I had the tasting menu which price was very reasonable.
First time at the Norwalk location, I will definitely return.
Disappointed that 2 seared scallops was passed off as “coquille St. Jacques”.
Was really hoping to love this place, but even with only 4 tables, it was hard to get the servers attention.
Great atmosphere and ambiance. Service was outstanding. Food was very good. Great calamari appetizer and lemon sole. Very good beet salad and scallops.
This was my third time at the restaurant and haven’t been disappointed yet.
Food , service and atmosphere were awesome. Will definitely return!
Simply fabulous bistro cuisine. It's a 35 minute drive for us but definitely well worth it! A gem of a restaurant!
Delicious wine, outstanding service and the food was amazing. The chicken paillard was cooked perfectly. You must try the Berkshire pork chop! We ended with a crème brûlée that was one of the best we’ve ever had. We will definitely be back.
Best and warm place to have a dinner with your special person or friends. Best Duck ever! Service staff is super friendly and attentive!
Have been to this Norwalk location twice and both times was quite satisfied. I have also been to their Port Chester many times. The Escargot is fabulous at both as is everything I have had on their menu. It has been consistently very good. The service and ambience are very good as well.
Service and ambience was great. Food is okay. Over sauced and salty.
This was my second dinner at the Norwalk location. The food is great and service very friendly. We sat in the upper area behind the bar because it was not as noisy as the main dining room. We had a leisurely meal and never felt rushed. The only complaint if I have to have one is that we never got a refill of our water glasses. But really we were very happy and will be back!
Appetizer (clams with chorizo in wine broth) and main course (steak frites and duck breast) were excellent. The crepe for dessert was average. Consider offering more flavors of beignet. We would have loved beignet but banana was only flavor on offer. Will definitely go back again!
Wonderful service and fantastic food!
The appetizers were great. We had the vegetable tart and the grilled Caesar salad. The steak frite was EXCELLENT! However, the duck breast was not so good…it was a little tough and chewy…won’t do that again. Ending on a bright note, the banana split was also excellent. Overall, a very good night out…only drawback was the duck.
Food was really great. Very nice addition to the area.
Wonderful meal — best tuna tartare we’ve had since Paris! Attentive staff, great, personable service. Only downside is many huge, bright screens over the bar — too much!
Great food in the heart of the action. Wonderful bar as well.
Delicious and great service!
Great food, great staff & great ambiance. Alex was awesome so thanks
Enjoyed our dinner. Food was fine; the fondue was very tasty. Service was really good. Get rid of the TVs.
Very good. Food was fantastic and really like French bistro style. Bunch of wait staff but they were very friendly and tried very hard.
attentive service, beautiful open space and best of all amazing food. Do not skip dessert the banana beignets are amazing!
Duck was fatty and tough to cut with the dull butter knife. The marmalade was too sweet for me and overwhelming.
The tuna entree was flavorless. If there could be something less than flavorless, it would have been the tuna.
Tuna tartar was fine but nothing special. Overpowered by the jus.
Good wine by the glass offering and good ambiance.
Great food and service ambience waiter was excellent
Great food and the service was outstanding. The staff worked together to make sure the evening was well covered. Loved the scallops!!! They were prepared exquisitely and the sauce was a perfect balance. The only thing out of the “ambiance” was the line of TVs with basketball playing. I don’t think I have ever seen that at a French restaurant. I do believe the food and location would lend itself well to an even more upscale dining experience without the TVs. Kudos to the chef and the entire staff!
Definitely recommend this restaurant. Food and drink were excellent, especially the fondue and Sono Sour.
Norwalk hasn't had a good French restaurant in a long time, so I was anxious to try this. Cocktail/wine by the glass was very good and the Sono Sour was yummy. We started with octopus and escargot. Both were exceptionally tender and flavorful. Entrees were the duck and the steak frites. The french fries were probably the best I have ever had and the hanger steak was sliced and tender. The duck was a bit chewy, and perhaps should have been ordered medium instead of medium rare. We did not have any dessert. Our server, Corey, was very attentive but not overbearing. Since we were there on the early side of a Wednesday, it was quiet, but that was fine with us. Will definitely go again.
My second time back at Appetit Bistro... The food is absolutly amazing here... Natalie, JC and David, are all very nice, attentive staff. Food : Tuna Tartare is so delicious, presentation was a work of art. The PEI mussels were so scrumptious, and the of lamb, with rosemary sauce, was cooked to perfection, so tender, not "gamey" at all...
Also, the raviolis with the chanterelle mushrooms inside with a wonderful sauce, (mind blowing)... Last but not least, the hanger steak, was truly cooked to perfection. The food is so superb, you will not be disappointed. Overall, had a truly wonderful evening. Appetit Bistro on Washington Street, is a great addition in SoNo's active restaurant scene... Enjoy it!!
We celebrated our anniversary here and we had a fantastic time! We will definitely be coming back again
Hostess was obnoxious. standing in front of entrance....waiter pleasant but untrained...food good....too loud..nyc table placement awful..tables for 2 facing the wall....
