The manager Kelly Ngyuen will make sure your dining experience is exceptional. Bravo!
Attended the grand opening and really loved the food. Returned to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. Because of her hearing issues I asked for a table in a more quiet area of the restaurant. Unfortunately the place carries an echo so it didn’t really matter. The food was good and the service was just okay. The server never told us her name, we had to ask. I think she was new. Overall it’s a great place to eat but the noise level is so high, I’d go back only for lunch or happy hour when not as busy.
Excellent place to eat. Service was outstanding
My friends and I really enjoyed this place. It's got a great vibe to it; nice decor, energetic atmosphere, hip. I agree with other reviewers about the pizza - they need to work on improving it. We asked for it well done after seeing reviews of it being soggy; but it was still soggy. The outside crust was good and the overall flavor was good, but you can't pick the slice up and eat it, because it just wilts all over your hands. It's not true brick oven pizza if the crust isn't crunchy all the way through. Please fix this, Appetito! The deep fried cauliflower was good as was the grilled Caesar salad and the kale salad. I had the liminocello with basil cocktail and loved it. I would recommend this restaurant and I would return, but I do hope they work on their pizza crust!
Made reservation for 9:45pm and was called and told I had to order before 9:50pm. I felt rush from start to finish and couldn’t enjoy my meal and company.
Food wasn't bad... just unremarkable for the price. Service was slow. Appeared to be too many chiefs and not enough indians. With so many choices in and around Waikiki, I don't intend to go back.
Pizza crust was great!
Good service and ambiance
Was recommended apetito from an aussie traveller. Great food. Great service. Would definitely recommend it.
Great Pizza! Great atmosphere and service!
95 USD für Pizza, Salat und eine Fl Wein. Rechnung auf dem Tisch sobald man das Besteck abgelegt hat. Wir hätten deutlich mehr erwartet für das Geld.
Hostess tried to seat us at a high top table instead of a booth as we requested on Open Table and tried to say the open booth just next to it was reserved. But she came back a second later and let us sit at the booth. It wasn’t busy most of the night. Waiter was friendly and our food and drinks were good.
Best Pizza in Honolulu.
Noce restaurant and good service
I made a resavation the restraunt using open table. I went there and they said I don’t have a resavation. They put us a small bar table which is for just drinking. We went for dinner.
The hostess was not nice
I've been looking forward to their pizza once their oven was approved. I tried the salami pizza. It was ok. Our server was either overwhelmed or very new because coffee came without a spoon to stir in cream & sugar. When we informed the server we needed more creamer she kept pointing to the creamer pot on the table, we had to OPEN IT to show her it was empty. With every refill of iced tea, we never got new straws so we learned to save our straws before asking for a refill. We literally had to wave the server down for every refill even though she constantly walked by our table. The Superbowl specials menu was still available when we arrived & we ordered a few items from the menu but the special pricing was not applied to our bill. We had to request for the bill to be changed to honor the special pricing. I advise keeping a close eye on your tab until the service comes up to par.
Food, service was great! Try the portables fries, very unique!
I had been watching all the reviews and waiting for their pizza oven to become functional. They did not disappoint. This is as authentic as it gets outside of Italy. The appetizers were great too.
Kudos to Emily who addressed food allergies prior to arrival and Clayton our server was more than accommodating. We did put everyone through their paces! Definitely returning!
Excellent service by friendly staff. The 3 different pizzas we tried were delicious and the fried portabella mushroom was uniquely satisfying. Thank you to our server Mila for making our experience so fun. Even the Manager stopped by to wish our friend a happy birthday and gave us a Green Tea Tiramisu that was made to perfection! I would recommend Appetito to anyone. As their menu offers something for everyone!!
We have dined at Appetito for both dinner and lunch. Our dinner was fabulous as our food, beverages and service were on point which is why we booked another dine with our friends. However, lunch for our group was somewhat disappointing. Why? The lunch menu seemed more limited and our friendly server seemed to be unsure how to serve properly. He constantly reached across to the table to serve the food or refill water glasses to our fellow diners which made them reach for their hot dish rather than the server placing the dish on the table. That was somewhat of a turn-off because when he passed hot dishes, the recipients didn’t expect the heat or weight of the dish and almost dropped the food.
The prosciutto and salsaccia & Kale pizzas were beautifully presented and tasted good but the center of the crust was soggy and not crisp as one would find from brick oven preparation. However, I think it was due to the generous toppings which caused the sogginess. We ordered the Boquerones which was outstanding..flavors and textures.
Not good first experience with bartenders as she was complaining about fellow workers while banging around bottles . Expected more from this beautiful spot
All the items we ordered were delicious. Cocktails were tasty, too. Timing in the kitchen was a little off and we had a bit of a wait between appetizers and our meal. Overall very enjoyable and tasty. Just need to work out the flow in the kitchen to avoid a back up like we experienced. We may have been more sensitive to the delay since we were dining with out 3 yo. The staff was very attentive and did keep checking back with us.
Ottima location e anche la pizza era buona, prodotti di qualità ben serviti!
Overall, I would give the restaurant 3 stars for the below reasons:
New restaurant: book table in advance
Food: salad portion was small for $8, nothing extraordinary - good enough. Pizza - excellent, dough is incredibly tasty, worth it!
Service: unfortuantely, service was poor (took 30 min to get salad and 2 drinks for party of 2); however, the manager and staff were extremely friendly and apologetic for the service that day. Of note, they are a brand new restaurant and it appears much of the staff is still in training perhaps so there is likely room for improvement.
Ambience: excellent, try to snag an outside table if weather is nice
value: average. drinks/salad were slighly overpriced. pizza = reasonably priced (only main course we orderd)
Pasta was very good. Good value and tasted just how I had hoped. Service was a little slow but all staff was friendly.
This is a very noisy restaurant. There is no children’s menu. There are no salt and pepper shakers on the tables. The Cesar salad has a dressing that is not mixed uniformly- one or two bites ok then a bite of pure anchovy 🤢, also I did not read the description carefully... the lettuce is grilled = wilted .... 🤦🏻♀️. Husband had the Hanger Steak, the side of rosemary potatoes came out at least 5 minutes before the steak, steak was barely warm but at least cast iron plate heated it up. Daughter had lasagne that was mostly cheese dried out pasta very little meat sauce. The waiter was very nice. Wine was ok. Would not recommend.
Waiting to try the pizzas....
Pasta was good but was frustating that they were not yet serving pizza when their name has pizza in it.
We decided to try Appetito for the first time during Restaurant Week. We really enjoyed it. I was concerned because the menu posted on the RW website didn't specify what was being offered for appetizers, but they were able to swap out the raw items with cooked items for my mom which was wonderful. We also added Portobello fries & calamari fritto since it was happy hour when we dined. YAY! Both were delicious! All of the entrees on the RW menu were yummy & we look forward to returning to try their pizzas after their pizza oven is up & running. We also enjoyed the matcha tiramisu.
Soft opening. Waiting for pizza oven to be operational. Pasta dishes very good. Tasting menu for restaurant week. Hangar steak needed a bit more seasoning but perfectly cooked. Porcini creme pasta best dish with shiitake and crispy prosciutto. Appetizers were fresh lots of flavor good for happy hour. Wine pairings spot on. I cannot wait till the wood burning pizza oven is operating. Give this place a try.
This restaurant had only been open 3 days. They did not have pizza which was it's main attraction. My meatball dish which was considered a specialty was so hot "spicy" that I suffered with stomach problems for a day and a half. Note: I love spicy food but this was
off the charts and should come with a warning sign. Not sure if I will try this restaurant ever again. So many other choices in the area.
