    $145.00 per person

    Prepaid

    Dec 24, 2023 only
In Italy, Christmas Eve dinner is traditionally lighter with no meat and a lot of seafood, while the Italian-American meal has evolved into much more of a feast. Bring on the octopus salad, linguine with clam sauce, and the famous Italian classic—salted cod, known as baccalà. The Feast of the Seven Fishes will also include sides of other classic Italian meatless dishes, including a wide selection of antipasti salad starters and a three cheese manicotti with homemade pomodoro sauce. To wrap up the evening, the sweet treats are a certainty. There are three time slots to choose from for your Christmas Eve celebration: 11am-2pm, 3pm-5pm, or 7pm-10pm

Regular food was as good as prior occasions but the dairy free versions left something to be desired. We assumed dairy free would have substitute ingredients to supplement the flavors. It tasted like they just deleted dairy products and served as is, which left the plates very flat. The tent was colder than usual due to the below freezing temps outside, making the overall dining experience uncomfortable at best. The fact the electric heater kept kicking the breaker and lights off didn’t help. I would be leery of utilizing the tent for evening dining the rest of the winter months unless they resolve the issues.

I had the quiche that came with a small salad. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were light and satisfying. Pleasant waitress. Due to the small space and many other diners, the noise level was very high. I found it difficult to converse with my friend.

Wonderful meal in heated tent with incredible musical talent entertaining us. Service was extraordinary, wine list was quite diverse and reasonably priced. Feta appetizer was devine and the cheese cake was like a fluffy cloud. ... one of our most enjoyable dining experiences this entire year. We anticipate becoming "regulars".

It's a tiny place so, expect it to be noisy if dining during peak hours. We went for lunch. To my surprise, the portions were generous but a tad expensive for the execution. We shared a cup of soup, a salad & a pasta entree, drank water but the bill was nearly $60, the main was not a $32 value. Still, I'll look forward to trying their brunch offerings as they were priced more appropriately.

We were the first table to arrive for lunch sevice and were told that they were out of mixed greens so no salads. With a limited soup, salad and entree menu it was disappointing that “someone forgot to order from their supplier the day before.” Our food took a really long time as well (panini and soup) so much so that another server came about 30mins later to tell us the original sever had an emergency and they didn’t know where she was. Still no food. There were 3 tables at lunch so definitely not slammed. We got our latte an hour after we sat down despite the fact that it was the first thing we ordered. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive and were freezing in the indoor dining area. We had empathy for the staff and made the best of it but would reconsider going back.

Apericena is a charming Italian restaurant in a historic, house-turned-restaurant. I’ve never seen anything quite like it! I was overjoyed to see such a substantial volume of gluten-free options on their menu, none of which left me wishing for more — as is frequently the case in most restaurants. The last night we were in town, we shared the whipped feta and the pasta al pomodoro with a few glasses of wine. We also shared a pasta special I don't believe is on their regular menu with pesto, and that... was outstanding, and the highlight of my night. I sat on their patio a few hours a week on numerous occasions this summer prior to purchasing my forever home here in Boise. I visited Yelp today to leave reviews of my favorite restaurants before we return at the end of November. This is definitely one of them. To the reviews stating this place was filthy, I could not disagree more. An old building, yes. Filthy, absolutely not. I hate to see Yelp continue to be a place focused on negativity and not positivity. Post included four photos of the above mentioned dishes. Coming from New Orleans, I was pleased to find a neighborhood gem with so much character and history. The building's age is half of what made it special. Apericena reminds me of home and we will absolutely be back. Keep doing what you are doing!

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Boise. I can't believe I haven't been here before! We were a bit nervous about dining on the patio but were pleasantly surprised with how cozy the entire space was, even with it being so cold outside. The entire patio was covered, heated, and we all had lap blankets which was a nice touch. They had live music with two guitarists, relaxing acoustic style, and that really made it difficult for us to want to leave. We stayed much longer than we planned and our server was extremely accommodating to us. Thank you Apericena crew for such a great first experience!!!

I really wanted to like this place, but would suggest they consider a few improvements. We sat outside in the heated tent. It was heated well. Metal chairs and a low quality metal table - I’d suggest table cloths and either chair pads or blankets at this price point. There was no music in the tent which made it awkward as you could hear every tables conversation in detail. I would also suggest some salads on the menu. My dining options were limited as several menu items were no longer being served and there wasn’t just a salad I could order. Also - why is bread and bruschetta market price? So strange… Net net, expand the menu with some simple Staples to appeal to food sensitivities and cozy up the outdoors.

This is a well warranted plug for a ridiculously delectable, unctuously exquisite, quaint and rustic local restaurant in the always lovely Hyde Park district downtown. Literally everything from the service to the historic home restaurant, to the lil mum maitre' d, to the sweet energetic wait staff, amazing tea menu, winelist, lovely rustic local faire, tasting like they were grown and plucked out in the backyard, to the most amazing salmon and beef filet and potatoes dauphinoise that married together more perfectly than gomez and morticia, and sourdough that raised the hair on your neck with the most celestial crunch of the most perfectly craft crust and spongey, bites and airy pockets of a long aged dough, perfect for extracting every savory note of the ham and potato soup. Between the food and care, the city sounds of the outside park district, the slight rustling of swirling leaves, the lovely throw blankets for each chair and the layers of melted wax and old candles like the rings of a ancient redwood, the ambiance made for a night to reconnect a year's worth of memories. A perfect dinner to make for a perfect memory. Do yourself a well deserved favor and make a reservation immediately and let yourself fall in love, with everything. It's worth it and life is short.

Very small restaurant. So cool to see something like this in Boise. They were preparing the patio for the colder months while I was in for lunch and I’m excited to come back in and check it out this winter. Also looking forward to their Christmas Eve dinners. Anya was great, as always.

This is a seriously cool spot. The location and patio couldn't be better this time of year. We got to enjoy a slow meal and watch the world go by, the trees changing colors, the yet still see a busy day for this little restaurant. We had the beef and the "little ear" pasta and loved both.

Nice evening and our first time to dine here. We were seated in a big outdoor tent that was fairly crowded with tables and therefore noise level was quite loud. A musician came in and played mellow background music. We ordered the whipped feta appetizer that many recommended . It was an interesting combination of sweet feta along with lightly spiced roasted cauliflower served with delicious toasted bread. The lamb bolognese was delicious as well as the cioppino. Wonderful espresso cheesecake to finish. Portions were very large and service was prompt . Thank you to Apericena!

The food was good. Great drinks and antipasti. The entrees were good, mostly wholesome and good quality food. The bread was amazing. Our server was attentive and very courteous. Overall, the price is quite high for the value you get. The ambiance in the front yard was excellent. The restaurant is very small inside and there's only one bathroom.

The lamb in the the Braised Lamb Bolognese was fork tender and delicious. The San Marzano Tomatoes were a bit chewy, maybe not quite ripe. Overall the dish could have used a bit more seasoning.

The garnishes are so fun and the character of this place makes it one of the most unique and enjoyable restaurants in Boise. Guaranteed

Absolutely the best wine selection in town second to Chandler’s and such beautiful Ambiance. We waited about 20 minutes for our appetizers and received prompt service. Dinner took about 40 minutes to come out but we expect that in a scratch made kitchen. The Beef Bourguignon was fantastic as always and we also tried the Pomodoro with the fixings of the Ciopinno. We will definitely be ordering that again and would love to see that as an option on the menu! Reading the reviews, I must say I hate to see a small restaurant like this get so many negative reviews during fly season — we live a block away and we know Hyde Park gets hit bad. A restaurant can’t control the flies that exist outside but I know this place is doing what they can to provide a great experience through it all. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary dinner!!

Unfortunate. Been here many times, before, and had a great experience. This lunch was regrettable…food quality was shocking…Brussels sprouts were old, underdone. Just bad. Outdoor tables not bussed for the entire meal so flies were everywhere. Nobody around to fill water glasses…I had to go inside and ask for some water, myself. People lining up outside for a table but nobody there to address them, so business was lost. Disappointing.

This is my third time to this restaurant. The food is always tasty. It takes some time to get your food though. Our appetizer & main course came out at the same time which was a shame because our main was cold by the time we ate it since we started with the appetizer. Our waiter was nice, he checked in enough but not to many times.

We dined outside on a Friday night - Apercina is located in a great neighborhood with lots of foot traffic so the people watching was great! Seating was not very comfortable and the two-top tables are extremely small. We quickly ran out of room with a bottle of wine and an appetizer. The shop next door had live acoustic music outside, which made the atmosphere so much better. Service is slow but normal for a European experience so we didn’t mind. Servers had no knowledge of their wine, so choosing from Italian and French wines we didn’t know was like throwing a dart in the dark but we ended up with a very nice bottle in spite of it all. The food was good - not outstanding- but good. Online the dress code was “smart casual”, I would say it was casual: I in a casual dress and him in a button down shirt, we were overdressed. Would we dine here again? Yes. Could they improve on some things, yes.

I had the French Onion Soup and the Ragu served over fettuccine Both were delicious. I'm somewhat of a French Onion Soup devoté. My wife and I spend 8 to 12 weeks in France every year and I make it a point to have French Onion Soup (soupe à l'oignon) in every restaurant that serves it. So about 50 to 70 times per year. Each is slightly different. I found the Apericena version ( based on a chicken broth rather than a beef broth) to have a surprising depth of flavor. It was a little lighter on the cheese topping than most, so a little less authentic, but I think I prefer the Apericena version overall. The Ragu was rich, hearty and delicious. The fettuccine appeared to be homemade and was perfectly cooked.

We had such a beautiful dining experience. Apericena is very inviting and I love the overall casual but elevated vibe. The food was beautiful. My husband tried the seasonal penne and he loved it. I got the boeuf bourguignon(don’t ask me to pronounce that haha!) and it was very tasty and a great portion. We also had the whipped feta as a starter—my husband, myself and our toddler loved every bit of it. We cleaned the plate. We’ll definitely be back to try more items at apericena

We ate at this restaurant in August at which time the food was very good and the service very slow which we attributed to the presence of a group of 16 celebrating a birthday. Our recent dinner also had slow service and the food this time uneven with some dishes very good and others (garden lasagna) less appealing. The cheese on top of the lasagna had broken that detracted from the overall appeal. The bread we ordered came over 5 minutes AFTER our dinner was served. The wine list was good but 2 of our first requests were out of stock.

Fabulous meal dining in at Apericena. We searched for a food-centric restaurant while visiting Boise and this was an excellent choice. Definitely order the Bruchette appetizer. The tomatoes and burrata plus the warm bread were amazing. Best latte I have ever had!

We dined on the patio. Though they were almost full last night the noise level was low. The babbling sound of water along the north side of the patio is very relaxing. Indoors the noise level is higher. This was our 3rd visit and we will return soon. Jennifer was our server. She is very knowledgeable about the wine list and the menu. French onion soup is delicious. Bon Appe’tit !
