Probably the most memorable part of our weekend trip to Canmore. We cannot wait to be back to try more of their food. We really love how intimate and relaxed the restaurant was. Highly recommend the tasting menu which was a selection of items off their regular menu. Every course was amazing and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were friendly and attentive. The cocktails we tried were also amazing.

Love Ankor! We did the chef table with wine pairing which was spot on. They were able to tweak it even with food allergies without impacting the flavors. It is a must stop while in Canmore

This is hands down the best meal we have ever had! My husband and I both tried the Chef tasting menu and it was such an incredible experience. Paisley and Julie (the sommelier) took us on such an amazing culinary adventure. I highly recommend this place; you will not be disappointed.

If Michelin came to Alberta, Ankor would qualify for 2 Michelin Stars. The creative flavours and the presentation are as good as any top level Manhattan restaurant. Wine pairing was also excellent.

Ankor did not disappoint for our second visit to this restaurant!! Service was impeccable, Paisley was knowledgeable, attentive and wonderfully friendly. Food was prepared perfectly and everyone enjoyed everything that we ordered to the max! We will happily return every time we are in Canmore if possible!

Everything exceeded our expectations. We had the 6 course tasting menu. The flavors and presentation are some of the best in our culinary experiences. The staff was very friendly and made great conversation about the area and the food that was served. The ambiance was just up our ally with exposed brick, live hanging plants, and classy decor. We thanked the chef on the way out and spent a few minutes chatting with him. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Canmore.

Canmore’s little secret! The staff are outstanding. Right from greeting you at the door to an explanation of every dish and opening the door when you leave. 100% attentive. Chef Danny you have outdone yourself. If I wanted great food I run to the only 5Diamond restaurant in Alberta one town over. Not any more! Danny’s food was as good and beautifully plated. The wine was also very good. I never have to go to the other place again. If you are looking for a very Bougie dining experience with amazing food this is the place to go. Ankor, thank you. This local girl will be coming back as long as you are open and in town. Cheers to many years of dining pleasure.

My wife and I enjoyed their 6 course tasting menu and had them pair wines with each serving. Excellent evening with incredible food, wine and over the top service. This was our second time at Ankor which I would say is Canmore’s best restaurant. We shall return.

Great service, very accommodating to our food needs. Creative delicious dishes and recognizing the special occasion with a card was a nice touch. Excellent wine list, as always. The ambience with the concrete floors and very open space, combined with the anything-from-sweat-pants-to-a-suit dress of patrons is a bit eclectic.

We dined at Ankor for a Birthday celebration dinner. The birthday girl has Celiac disease and the chiefs accommodated the Tasting menu to suit her needs. She loved everything as did the rest of us. If you are looking for a sensational food experience I would highly recommend Ankor.

Incredible experience from start to finish! We went with the tasting menu, per previous reviewer recommendations, and were not disappointed with any of the courses. All fantastic and unique! We also enjoyed a perfectly selected South African wine pairing by the friendly & helpful sommelier. What we loved most was that some of the courses were things we’d never typically order ourselves, but were so pleased that we’d tried them. This place is truly special—approachable & quaint, yet would stand up to any chic, big city restaurant. Thank you for a most memorable 10-year anniversary dinner!

We had a great experience at Ankor. We were welcomed at the door. The food service was excellent. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairings and it was perfect. Each course was well executed, explained, and very tasty. The wine service paired well with each course, and the Somm, Julie, described each wine with passion.

Fresh ingredients, creative preparations and combinations of flavors made an excellent meal. The service was professional and helpful. We asked if there was a sparkling wine served by the glass and the server said that there wasn't but she would see if we could get one. We did and it was delicious. All of the wine pairings were great. We will return and tell all our friends. Thanks for the wonderful evening!

Our group of 6 had an incredible experience at Ankor on 8/10/23. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and we appreciated how our waiter gave excellent descriptions of each of the dishes brought to the table. The food was outstanding! The portions were on the small side, but this was a positive element, as we were able to explore more of the starters - each plate was artistically presented and prepared to taste perfection. We would not be surprised to see this gem in the mountains earn a Michelin Star.

High level of service from the moment we walked in the door from the manager and then throughout the evening from their sommelier. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing and I highly recommend this (especially if this is your first time) so you get a sample of many of the menu items. The staff were informative about the food and wine choices and were attentive without being around too much. The food was exceptional with great flavour pairings and you can tell that each course was developed and taste tested with care. Great for date night, special birthday celebration or just a dinner treat.
