   Animae was an amazing experience. We had very early dinner reservations at 515 and the restaurant opens at 5, somehow there was already a good amount of people seated and waiting on their food but it wasn’t busy. The music had a great vibe for the restaurant and the inside of the building was beautiful. It had an almost great Gatsby vibe. Our waiter Anthony was great he new the menu and was never overbearing but was always around while we needed him. All of the food was incredible from the waygu fried rice to the caviar shrimp toast to the calamari salad to the lamb noodles and the final octopus plate. My wife loves her lemon gin sake style martini. I was not a fan of my drink but that’s my fault I don’t like sweet drinks and it definitely said it was a sweet drink. Honestly the place was great. We even had our 1 year old there and it didn’t feel like it was a problem even though the vibe was definitely upscale. We spent 250 on dinner not including tip and 20 on valet. And this place was worth every penny. Might be our new favorite restaurant. Side note we came in expecting sushi. There was no sushi. But surprisingly a lot of their dishes were sushi adjacent. 10/10 would recommend.

   We went for my mom’s birthday, heard lots of great things about it and they did not dissapoint. From being seated early to the coat check, to the table for your purse, to the delicious appetizers and main course..we’ll definitely be back! Worth every penny!

    Three appetizers must be a part of every meal; yes, that delicious: lamp chops, won tons, and peas/mushroom dish. I consider the prices very moderate for the high quality of everything.

    Exquisite preparation and presentation of just gorgeous food. Interiors are glam beautiful. This is a place you can dress up or down. But throw on the jewels and bring out the best duds because you will be transported visually and culinarily excited.

    From the beginning to the end, my husband and I were treated like a valued customer. It was my husband’s birthday and each person we encountered wished him a happy birthday and our waiter even brought him a birthday dessert. The ambience is beautiful! The food was so delicious. The flavors all complement each other. Our waiter hands down was phenomenal! Please go here if you are in San Diego. My new favorite restaurant and we will be returning. I hate that I couldn’t remember our waiters name but I would love to be seated in his section every time. He took the time to explain the menu to us and give excellent recommendations.     Every dish was tasty and unique. Hunan spare ribs took us back to our China travel. Wontons better than Din Tai Feng. Yellow Tail unique and Philipino dishes a surprise. Our new San Diego favourite restaurant.

    This is my second time coming here. They're some changes on the menu prior to last year, so we tried other entrees. It was still so good. Waiters were excellent, great vibes etc. We're definitely come for again.

    Visit was on Friday May 12th the restaurant was already packed at 5:30. Our reservation was ready on time. The hostesses were polite and professional. Our server Matt was absolutely on point as were his service assistants which created a very memorable experience. The food was totally on point, pacing was fantastic. I'm a little particular about my cocktails and requested a custom build of my old fashion and the bartender totally nailed it. The whole experience was fantastic. Good Job Animae!

    It was very nice. I was impressed with the taste if everything. I was amazing ! I had the Taiwanese chicken- very good and my wife had the short ribs-kare kare . I loved her order and mine as well. Superior ambiance. Parking is good at an Ace parking lot right across the street for 15 dollars.

    I’m proud to be Filipino after eating here. Only critique is that the Tocino didn’t taste like it at all, wished the pork looked red like when I have it at home. It tasted more like pork in a tocino sauce not actual tocino. Overall, appetizers were great food was great and the drinks were great. Shoutout to our waiter Anthony he was big help and contributor to our amazing experience

    Unique food that was very flavorful. It’s been a while since my wife and I ate at a restaurant and enjoyed everything very much. We never get dessert at the restaurant and we had to since everything was so good. It definitely did not disappoint.

    Overall very interesting menu . We had the wagyu tartare which is by far one of the best we've ever had... the milk toast served with it however was too greasy and it only needed a simple crostini. The hamachi was average. We then ordered the shrimp and caviar toast which was a large portion and very rich. Perhaps too large and too rich. The wagyu won tons were outstanding. We then shared the branzino and mushrooms and peas, both very flavourful fresh and unique. Our server seemed to be learning and was pleasant but the restaurant could have buddied her up such that we would have received the right level of service . A nice experience if you are looking for Asian style cuisine that's a little different . Would recommend.
