   I went to celebrate my wife's 40th and it was a fantastic way to celebrate the day. We decided to have the tasting menu, and it was one awesome dish after the other being served. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, friendly and very knowledgeable.

   This restaurant's tasting menu will be a well kept secret for me. Top quality food, snacks and bread did not disappoint. The top floor restaurant shows class, fine dining style, tasteful interior. I will definitely return again for the tasting menu. Staff are super attentive and knowledgeable. Overall it's a 5 stars for me.

   We had the most amazing evening. The food was truly delicious. The attention to detail from the moment we arrived to leaving was outstanding. We were made very welcome and the staff took care in explaining each course. A restaurant for all occasions and a tranquil oasis in the Square Mile. Whether business or pleasure one to ensure a great time is had by all.

    Service was appalling and this restaurant doesn’t cater well to diners with dietary requirements. They just “remove” the sauces and anything of flavour, so you end up with bland cod, turbot and seafood. They don’t offer good alternatives. On top of this - quite disappointing service, when it was meant to be a joyous birthday occasion

    City location so on a weekday busy with city workers; we are not but we did not feel remotely out of place. Must be good as the restaurant is obviously well patronised. Lovely outside terrace for pre lunch drinks. Had the set menu. Every mouthful was delicious. Can’t wait to go back.

    Very nice bright and clean cut restaurant. It’s not a big venue which is more intimate and also quiet. Food was really good. A lot of flavour and the tasting menu was well executed. Wine list was also good — not the typical rip off price you pay at some pretentious places. Service was quite efficient and the staff were knowledgable. The only hiccup was it took us a long time and attempts to get our bill.

    We had a cracking dinner last night. We have been fortunate to eat at some amazing fine dining restaurants around the world and can say with some experience this was one of the best meals we’ve had for a while. The food came promptly, delivered elegantly and thoroughly explained and the wine recommendations by the glass from the sommelier ‘Roberto?’ were spot on as we rarely need a whole bottle. This was a same day, last minute booking and many other 1-2* restaurants nearby were full, so we thought to try it having not been aware of it and were not disappointed. We could not believe, given how good the food was, that the restaurent was not heaving - particularly given how many people were at the bar on the ground floor of the building when we left. The atmosphere was calm (ideal for us) and reflected the fact that there were not many people there - but we will happily come back and with more people there would be more of a buzz. We felt, given the quality of the food that it reflected the price accurately. My wife is thrilled that I have found her another super restaurent for her to take clients to so close to her office.

    We had the 9 course meal with wine parings. The food and presentation were spectacular. The chef made a superb effort to accommodate one guest who needed gluten free food. The GF bread was excellent. The service however was a bit below what one would expect from a restaurant at this level. For example: 1. We had to ask several times for our water to be refilled 2. We asked several times for another look at the menu - so that we could know what we were being served 3. The sommelier was brief and superficial in his description of the wine pairings and seemed too rushed to entertain any questions or conversation.

    I sent the following email to the restaurant last night and await a response: Hello, My colleague and I dined with you this evening. We enjoyed the tasting menu and wine flight. We were told at the start of the meal that the wine flight would cost £100 per head. This is supported by your website which states that the wine flight is £100. I paid the invoice, as I did not want to create any fuss in front of my colleague, who was retiring from our business tonight. However, I was irritated to note that you actually charged £220 for our two wine flights. Plus 15% service charge on that amount. So therefore you charged me £23 too much. Please confirm, by return, how you propose to reimburse this £23 to me. Thank you.

    Angler is a love song to fish and every course presented was beautiful to look at and a joy to eat. The restaurant is spacious and has an elegant air without feeling stuffy or pretentious. Our sommelier was keen to discuss his cellar and share his knowledge with us and we drank two splendid bottles of wine, well matched to our meal. The staff were discreet but made us feel the importance of our occasion, attentive without being too fussy. I loved this restaurant and I cannot praise the food highly enough. This Michelin starred establishment is a wonderful find and we’ll be back soon.

    Exceptional food. The sea bass tartare was the highlight, but many other items on the tasting menu were original and utterly delicious. Michelin stars aren’t always a guarantee of an outstanding dining experience, but that’s certainly what we got yesterday evening. Will definitely be back at some point, when the expense can be justified...!

    A brief thank you for excellence. A demanding and difficult day inclusive of limited time for a planned lunch meeting at The Angler was transformed from unbearable to memorable by the staff at The Angler. A couple of lunch timing and attendee challenges were met and swiftly negated by a masterclass in hospitality which is rare even at Michelin restaurants. A huge thank you to Jo and the team who were on duty Wed 8th 1215 who adeptly managed my booking which could have been disastrous but was finessed into excellence. That coupled with service and gastronomy more than qualified for any premium rating has ensured return visits by myself, my business guests and anybody who I can make the recommendation to.     7 course tasting menu took over 3 hours. 20-30 min between some courses. Had to rush our last 2 courses and completely skip the last. Had to fight for a measles 10% discount to the bill. Excuses included “it was a busy night” - I’m sorry, for a £135 tasting menu I expect nothing less than perfect operations.

    Superb evening. The tasting menu and wine flight is well worth the experience for a special occasion. Superb, friendly, knowledgeable service. The banquette seats are too low for the tables, so we asked to move and staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming- so would opt for fully seated tables. A special place - so memorable.
