Really disappointed by the service here because the food was wonderful. New played, but dirty silverware piled up on the table. Napkins left on the floor of other tables and stepped on by staff without notice. Just disappointed

A great experience in a beautiful space, attentive and kind service and absolutely delicious food. A great way to experience a new cuisine. The staff were so nice and made us feel at home, explaining the dishes to us and their cultural significance. I will dream of the trout roe tarts for the rest of the my life

They had a wonderful pop up shop featuring Ukrainian artists/artisans/makers. It was located past the courtyard, not very visible from the bar. Make sure to seek it out and stop by!

We had a wonderful meal at Anelya this past weekend. From the moment we arrived the service was spectacular and the food definitely exceeded our expectations. We loved the appetizer cart and getting to experience so many different takes on Ukrainian foods. The warm olives, beet salad, and halushki were stand outs for us!

First of all go there for cocktails! Amazing truly unique Quite disappointing food. Knowing how tasty Ukrainian dishes can be this was a very confused menu. From Zakuski we had pashtet which was very good. Marinated cauliflower and mushrooms were ok. Eggs were rather tasteless. Hot garlic bread was missing garlic. Blood sausage was tasty. Whenever someone thought when creating holubci is unclear. Mushrooms were missing in action sticky rice inside had no flavor and topping of the sauce was completely mismatched. Buckwheat kasha and potato pancakes were good. Halushki dough reminded Korean dumplings. Cherry cake was excellent. Portion Sizes were tiny! Need to advertise as tapas style and for $ 35 catfish without a side ???

Outstanding meal! Second time visiting and just as excellent/consistent as the first. One of my favorite places in Chicago, and a great, unique reflection of Slavic (Ukrainian, specifically) culture that is woefully under appreciated by most American diners. Well worth the visit for anyone interested in trying something different from the standard American palate.

The food is not ordinary, not everyone will like it. Modest service, not comfortable tables and chairs. We expecting much more.

The appetizer tray at the beginning is so fun and you can’t go wrong—everything is delicious. The infusions are delightful and the bartender gave us a little taste of his favorite on the house. Beautiful space in a quiet part of the neighborhood. Loved trying some authentic Ukrainian cuisine.
