This restaurant is CLOSED!! I cannot understand why OpenTable is not aware of this and is still reserving tables. Therefore we have no feedback on our dinner. We went elsewhere.
The restaurant is closed and is still on open table taking reservations. Super disappointing
It closed down a week prior to my dinner reservation which was made on open table. We arrived and it was closed. I would assume open table wouldn’t take reservations for restaurants that are no longer in business. I will not be using open table again.
Restaurant is “closed for reservations” although website did not mention this fact and allowed us to make an open table reservation!
This Restaurant is CLOSED- OUT of BUSINESS
DO NOT BOOK
Made a reservation, showed up, the restaurant is CLOSED “for renovations.”
This is a great place for classic Italian food, including pizzas and pastas but also including veal and chicken dishes (parmigiana, marsala, piccata, ...) plus a long wine list. The wines are diverse, reasonably priced, and many more than usual can be obtained "by the glass."
It is a neighborhood restaurant, so you are likely to encounter large groups of families but not so many children, so it is good for dates too. There are big screen TVs often showing football, and there is a huge bar. Being on Magazine Street, you will also find a table or two of tourists, but very few. It will be loud, but well... that's part of the fun.
Fun night good food
Disappointed that I have to pay for parking in the lot now- this is a change from previous visits and Google said they were permanently closed .
The Thursday night $5 pizza and Happy Hour are great attractions and make this great pizza experience a great value.
The food is classic Italian (pizza, chicken/veal/eggplant parmesan or marsala) with a diverse menu. The wine is priced rather reasonably, and there are a range of options. The service tends to be inattentive, as most of the waitstaff are 20-somethings doing this as a part-time job for pocket money. There are large TVs showing sports, mixed drinks, and a fairly vibrant, kinda loud, atmosphere. The neighborhood is clean and unique (Magazine Street), if you feel like going for a stroll before/after dinner.
The service and atmosphere were great, however the food was merely O.K. I got a pasta dish and the noodles were severely overcooked and mushy. My husband got a chicken dish that was bland and slightly soggy. The wood fired pizzas looked awesome though. Had I seen them first, I would have definitely ordered those over other menu items. I'd come back to try a pizza but I'd be hesitant to try anything else off the menu.
Disappointing...too noisy to sit inside, server was more interested in making excuses for the level of service than contributing to making it better. Bus boy provided better service ...got us our cutlery, salt, pepper. The pasta was cold and tasteless. No added cheese or peppers were offered. Just not a good meal for any of us. Wish I had something more positive to add. Would not go back.
Thought it was high end. More of a pizzeria
It is an attractive place in a great location. The food was good enough, but not good enough to make it a destination. Service was cheerful though not well paced. The noise level was quite uncomfortable, and will keep me away in the future, at least for dinner.
Not what I expected. The food was mediocre at best. I honestly was expecting nice Italian food but I was mistaken. Instead I got food that could easily be presented at BJs or some other chain. Service wasn't anything to write home about but other than that I wouldn't return.
Too much to type, but we will be back
We were in town for Saints Game. Wanted a restaurant not on the typical must go to. Amici had a wonderful menu, great services and really good food! Will sure be recommending to friends who live in area as well as friends just visiting New Orleans. We will also come back again when in town.
Old style Italian, with average ingredients done with mediocrity .Food was over seasoned, it doesn't take talent to oversalt everything. Place to eat not dine.
Great food and drinks!
They were out of 2 types of wine, the bread was stale, the salads were all swimming in dressing. Not a great meal at all.
