Wonderful steak and lobster tail. My husband and I both had the “special”—-6 oz steak with crab topping and a lobster tail!!! Mmmmmm! The steaks were tender, flavorful, and so delicious. The vegetables were even good. We had a great evening. I’m not too partial to large crowds—so we usually dine early. The restaurant was pleasantly populated which made it even better.
My wife and I dined there on Saturday evening. I had the 12 oz Churasco filet, it was simply delicious. My wife had the Purgo red snapper, she had the same experience, the filet was moist, tasty just right! Overall, I highly recommend Americas!
Extremely slow service
Great restaurant! Food was delicious and the service was great!
Fresh ingredients and food. Atmosphere is nice and layout of restaurant is conducive for large groups.
Great Ambiance and food. The waiter was great. Everything was Wonderful!
America’s was awesome!
My family has been looking for a Sunday Brunch place in Houston for sometime. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Food and service was excellent!
Great waiter and service! I enjoyed the food and drinks!
Although the food was good, I don’t think it’s $65.00 good for a small appetizer, so-so entree and good dessert.
Valentines Day Special - wasn’t an option it was mandatory for all guests. Pricing wasn’t too bad at a person but the portions were noticeably smaller. Regular pricing would have been maybe $50-$55 a person so I don’t understand the up charge and making portions smaller. Also I ordered chicken empanadas as my starter and I received beef. It was still good regardless but I was still wanting the chicken ones.
First time diner. The Paella Mariscos was amazing! The portion size was just right. And the Bailey's Tres Leches cake - phenomenal!
We dined here for my nephew’s birthday. Had an awesome time — amazing food, spectacular service, love the decor. Great time with family but they are pretty careful to place big loud groups like us away from date night couples. Would come here for intimate dining as well as family celebrations. Can’t go wrong!
we had a 9:45pm reservation. we got to our table by 10pm. it took them 5 mins to give us our drinks but 45 mins to get our main dishes. and YES they totally forgot our appetizers. after I asked the waiter for our foods. he said it'll be out soon and by the time he placed the main dishes on our table. I was speechless. he didn't even say sorry. that's just terrible. not worth my $200. and waste of time.
Love the service we received at Americas River Oaks, our order was incorrect when it reached our table and the staff fixed it right away. The manager came out to apologize and made us feel special. Thank you again for making our Valentines experience one to remember.
Slow service, slow food. I finally ordered and 15 mins later they were out of the entree. Food took over 45 mins to come out, when others around us got their food when seated after us. Was finally updated, GM was aware and were going to take care is something on our bill. Nothing was taken care of. Food was luke warm. I knew I shouldn’t expect much on vday but this visit was unbearable.
The food was subpar, definitely Not worth the price not the wait.
Very fast service, the food was great, and overall a great experience! Definitely worth the price and definitely intend to return on occasion.
For a Valentines Night it was very good. Service was taxed because of crowding. Elevator did not work. And 1 bathroom was out of service. As always, food and wine delicious.
We understand it was a busy night, but we felt we waited way too long for each course to arrive. Servers didn't really know which plates belonged to what tables. Everything felt like it was lagging. Not to mention, the table next to us kept getting a credit card/someone else's receipt that didn't belong to them. By the time we left, the elevator stopped working.
Overall it was terrible, food tasted like cafeteria food , bland and luke warm. Service was very slow, 30+ min between entrees and dessert. Everything was clearly proportioned and not fresh, not exactly what you want for a Valentines day dinner. We will never be back to Americas nor any of the other restaurants in this chain. Shameful, for the prices they charge the food and service are completely unacceptable.
It was our first time here. I brought my wife for Valentine’s Day.
We loved the food and service was great. Valet parking was really nice touch however it was very busy and waited for car outside more than expected.
$65 set menu per person. Wasn’t notified about fixed price upon booking - found out at the table when the menu was delivered. 3-course meal included 1 tiny thin crab cake, an 8oz steak that cost an $10 additional fee ($75) and ended with a mass produced chocolate mousse dessert that wasn’t even edible. The sides served with the steak were literally a piece of broccoli, 2 baby carrots and 1 fingerling potato. I was honestly embarrassed to spend our Valentine’s dinner here. We felt scammed.
Salmon was great and of course the dessert was delicious, it was Valentines Day so it was super busy evening
The ambience was beautiful, most of the staff except for our waiter was attentive. The quality of the steak left a lot to be desired it was full of sinew that I had trouble cutting through it. It was returned to the kitchen with a new one only to be cooked the same way. Two tiny shrimp came as extra for an extra price. The chocolate desert presentation was beautiful and delicious. It was the first place my husband and I went to dine and it left such wonderful memories we thought we would return. We were offered 2 $20 off your next meal vouchers and that is fine, next time maybe we will get the fish.
America’s has excellent food! Sea Bass was really good for Valentines!
It was a great dining experience, the food and service was second to none. I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We had an amazing time. Perfect for the occasion. It was a Tuesday night and we were 1 of only a few tables. Service was great, food was a great value.
Perfect setting to sit and talk with friends.
One of my favorite restaurants for brunch. Good food, great service, pleasant ambiance. I’ve been coming here for the last 12 years. This date was the first in 10 years.
Good food and service. Just overpriced.
Excellent food with nuanced flavors
Very prompt seating g. Delicoise apperizers lobster corn dog and empanadas. The pollo encamisado was outstanding as was the churrasco steak. The grilled corn and salad were also outstanding. We then had the coconut ice cream and cookies. Overall great experience
America's is the most romantical dining spot in Houston!
I'm sorry to say that the quality of the food on the Sunday buffet has declined over time. The chicken was very over cooked and dry, the jasmine rice was underdone and crunchy. The chilaquelles (sp?) were dry. The fritto mixto (sp?) was also not very good.
The ceviche was very good, as was the beef tenderloin. I enjoyed the desserts, but the creme brulee had a bit of a weird taste.
I would like to see more variety. I would like to see the blue cheese dip for the fried plaintains added to the buffet.
Overall, I would not recommend the buffet anymore, but the regular menu is still fabulous.
The restaurant decoration is really unique and cool. Our group came for a bachelorette dinner, they were very accommodating to big groups. The food was amazing; we got the empanadas, pollo encamisado, pasta criolla, churrasco. Anything plate you order will be great!
Could use a bit of a remodel. Dimming the lights would help. Maybe table candles to add some ambiance.
Had dinner at one of our top choices. My son had a wonderful ribeye and I had the Chilean sea bass. The plates were beautifully presented and the food excellent. Wait staff was very attentive but not hovering at all. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and parking is free and ample. Cuisine is South American - and, not spicy like Tex-Mex. Dessert menu looked tempting but we were full after the ceviche appetizer, plantain chips, and the entrees. They had a very tempting chocolate dessert called delirio de chocolate - very rich - but we opted for the alfajores - small, light cookies with a lovely filling. Not an inexpensive place but worth every penny. Can't wait to go back.
Extremely upscale and the food was excellent! The employees were very friendly and approachable- very accommodating! I loved the brunch and I will definitely return! Patron for life!
We had a fabulous brunch at Américas River Oaks. The food was outstanding and the staff was very friendly and just lovely. The decor is very unique and the tables and seats are cozy and comfortable. The music is spot on and not too loud.I highly recommend Américas River Oaks!
