The best award-winning steakhouse in the area! Worth the drive from Banner Elk (13 miles), Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain (30 minute drive) , Johnson City or wherever you are. Americano Steak House is a local, veteran-owned restaurant featuring hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, amazing salads, 1/2 pound steak-burgers, decadent desserts and the only full liquor bar in the East Tennessee mountains will over 100 wines by the bottle and glass.

We kindly ask that you do not show up early for your reservation, but simply on time. We are a small, boutique steakhouse that focuses on exceptional food and incredible service in the mountains of East Tennessee and typically cannot seat guests earlier than their reserved time.

While we have always discouraged them, our policy towards no shows/same day cancelations MUST be firm. No shows and same day cancellations are the plague of the industry and we ask of you to uphold your end of this commitment as we are thrilled to provide on our end.

This densely marbled Japanese Strip is melt in your mouth tender. Highly priced and award winning. A5 Wagyu is extremely limited and we ask that guests prebook this to alert the restaurant so we have your steak available when you arrive.     My wife indicated her sirloin was the best she ever had, I went with the Hawaiian Ribeye and it was amazing. I will have to go back to try the Prime Rib on a Thursday. Then I had carrot cake that was very good too. We will definitely be back! Couldn't have been any better.

    Excellent dining, staff, service, and beautiful views to get to from every direction! We have been there quite a few times, bringing friends and family, and have never been disappointed in anything! It is beautiful inside, and handicapped accessible. Highly recommend!

    So worth the brief drive from Banner Elk to Roan Mountain! It starts with the warm welcome we received from their beautiful hostess Karen. Then we were seated and our server promptly got us drinks and food. The atmosphere is good, and the food even better! My husband had the Ribs Special, and I had the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Trout - both were outstanding! We were too full to have dessert this time, but believe me we’ve enjoyed their sweet offerings many times - yum!

    Reservations thru OpenTable are a must on Thurs, Fri's & Saturdays. The Chef Specials are key to a successful dining adventure. Started with two plates of Escargot (5 ea plate). Escargot was fantastic and the exceptional taste was made by the garlic sauce and bread to dip and sop up the wonderful goodness. The pre-dinner Caesar salad was great as usual. The wife ordered her usual favorite of Lobster & Crab Stuffed Local Trout with sautéed spinach. I ordered the Chef Special of Prime Rib Tips with Onions, Mushrooms in a Marsala sauce. Exquisite! I ordered Sauvignon Blanc for the wife and I had the Americano Margarita. Fantastic evening.

    This place was phenomenal! The meats were top notch and cooked to order perfectly. The entrees we chose were fantastic as were the desserts. I highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant!

    I have to admit we were disappointed with dinner. The Marsala Sirloin had very little taste. The Gumbo special was good except that the rice in the deish was undercooked in the center. We did have a split a mixed salad prior to dinner and it was fine. However we weren’t brought plates. Our server said she didn’t think we’d want dessert with all that we’d eaten. We won’t rush back. I wasn’t classify dinner as a positive experience.

    It was "off season" (no colorful leaves, no snow), so it wasn't crowded. The food and service were excellent, as was the welcoming attitude of the staff. We'll be back.

    Several years ago I found the AMERICONA while camping at ROAN MT STATE PARK . We now travel from Jonesborough every month their to enjoy the prime rib on Thursdays. We have brought many guest which all agree,” best prime ever ate” Troy does great job with his restaurant .

    First timers at Americano. We have had many people tell us about the awesome food at Americano. They were not exaggerating! Hostess (with the mostess!) was very friendly and seated us in a corner booth. And our waitress, Bonnie, was friendly, accommodating, and loves the same wine as I do - did I say they have an awesome wine list??? The special was prime rib and it did not disappoint - sides of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans - hit the spot! We will definitely be back - oh so good! Americano’s ambience was amazing , people smiling, laughing and having a good time. The employees could not be better. Lovely evening - thank you Americano 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    I went to Americano Steak House with visiting family Saturday for the first time. Excellent food served to perfection, fast friendly wait staff, clean and welcoming decor. This will not be my last visit to Americano, I will be a repeat customer. Steaks were grilled and seasoned to perfection and cooked exactly as ordered. Its not easy to get medium rare right when ordering. I am used to getting medium instead, but not here. Medium rare came out medium rare just as I asked - a pleasant surprise. If you haven't eaten here yet you don't know what you are missing.

    We have dined there twice. Both times the food was great. I have had the Hawaiian steak and prime rib, both delicious. 😋. If you are in the mood for steak, this is the place to go. They have other food choices too that look delicious, such as ribs special last night. Our compliments to the owner and chef.

    Great neighborhood gym, this is our go-to spot in Roan Mountain. The food is always good and the service is always friendly. The only thing I wish they would improve on is the ambience, the lighting is too bright, the dining room could use some softer more comfortable lighting. The dining room is also a little loud for my preference, some sound absorption could be helpful to improve the overall experience.

    We had a wonderful dinig experience Sat night. Our waitress , hostess and food was top notch! Steaks were of the highest quality Adding the bar was also a pleasant surprise. Can't wait to come back from Shady Valley

    Went here for our anniversary. I’m not a fan of live music usually because often it’s so loud you can’t talk,but not in this case. We ordered firecracker shrimp for an appetizer and it was fair at best, but when the main course came out it was excellent. The steaks were wonderful, but it took a bit of time to get them. Waitress was very attentive. Price was reasonable.
