   Since we have been patronizing Americana for many years I have elevated my expectations significantly and the staff always delivers, don' get me wrong, they haven't always hit a home run but their hit ratio is very high. The food is high quality, sometimes the sauce is overpowering, but I am a pretty simple guy.

   HAD A WONDERFUL NIGHT AT AMERICANA!! WE DO GO QUITE REGULARLY FOR THEIR WEEKLY HARVEST SET MENU. ITS A THREE COURSE MEAL WITH UNLIMITED WINE! WE STARTED WITH THE SHRIMP APPETIZER (NOT PART OF SET MENU) HAD A BEET AND ARUGULA SALAD WITH A LOVELY TRUFFLE VINEGARETTE, STEAK W/ SCALLIOP AND A DELIGHTFUL PANA COTTA ON TOP OF A SHORTBREAD COOKIE! WE ALSO STARTED OUR MEAL WITH THIER SMOKED OLD FASHIONED. WE CHOSE TO SIT OUTSIDE THIS VISIT AS THE RESTAURANT SITS ON THE EDGE OF THE WATER. WE WATCHED THE SWANS & DUCKS. WE HAD VARIOUS HUMMINGBIRDS SWING BY FOR A VISIT AS WELL! ABOLUTELY AMAZING DINNER! YOU GOTTA CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!

   I was on my evening walk when I decided to stop in to Americana Restaurant. I ended up having the shrimp cocktail, which was delicious. I also ordered the asparagus soup with truffles and nuts. Awesome meal, awesome service, and as always an awesome view of the lake. This is my little gem in the neighborhood. Awesome place. Great food.

   I work in restaurants, so I’m pretty picky about where I spend my time off but Americana has become a regular spot for me. The lakeside view is gorgeous, especially around sunset, and the vibe is laid back but still polished. I’m here almost every Tuesday for the $1 oysters, which are good every time. The staff’s always friendly, and the whole place just feels easy good energy, good food, and a setting that makes you want to stay a while.

   I really enjoyed it, but the part that bothered me was we were seated right next to an awesome view, which was great for us but everyone else wanted to come stand literally right next to our table to take a picture of the view. I get it, but it’s not a great spot for us to sit if random people are constantly standing inches over our table. That space should either have no tables there so it’s just picture opportunities, or it should have an extra table to block the walkway so people don’t feel entitled to come stand right there for their picture. Everything was great, except that one thing.

   Food was extremely bland. Husband had the pesto pasta with chicken, chicken had no seasoning whatsoever. Same with the chicken BLT sandwich. The place has potential, but the food needs work.

   Ambience is great but service was not so great. With it being Mother’s Day, the tables should have a centerpiece with some flowers but it was just bare with plate settings. Our table was rocking but the server was able to even it out by placing a folded napkin under one of the legs. Tacky! Food was good especially the braised short ribs. But the $90+ Japanese wagyu looked like Chinese takeout. They forgot to put the tobiko caviar. Service was sooo slow as it took 1 hour from the time we were seated to the time we got food. And this is just brunch! I had to keep asking for water and mimosa refills.

    We have been to Americana several times since first having dinner there in the Fall of last year. The food and service were excellent and so much so that we later had two dinner parties there including one in which we booked a private room. Yesterday we had dinner with my wife's brother and sister who had flown in from Oregon and Washington state specifically for a celebration for my wife's birthday. There were six of us and we arrived just after 6PM. Unfortunately, we weren't able to leave until 9PM - and it wasn't because we wanted to stay that long. It was because the service was the worst I've ever seen. Although the server assigned to our table was terrific, the length of time we had to wait for our food to arrive was over an hour AFTER we finished our salads. We were told that there was a large party of 50 people that was causing the delay but that's really not an excuse that makes any sense. You can't ignore the 30-40 people in your normal dining room just to serve those 50. How about staffing up ahead of time to make sure that is avoided? One other note - one of our party had to send their steak back because their medium-rare filet came out with a cold center. Not cool - cold. My medium-rare rack of lamb came out medium-well. It didn't get sent back because I'd already waited an hour and wasn't about to wait another 15 minutes for my meal. So there were clearly some quality issues with those two dishes. One last note - because we were a party of 6, there was an automatic 20% gratuity added on. AND there was nothing comp'd on our bill as a result of the poor service. I had spoke to the GM once during the meal and again on the way out. But by the time we left, we'd already paid our bill so there wasn't much to do. We *might* come back just because our earlier visits were great. We'll see. With all that said, we *might* come back again.
