We stopped for dinner on such a busy day that we only remembered it was our anniversary as Sara poured our wine. As expected, the service and food was great. We did not expect to receive a bottle of wine from our delightful server, Sara. What a kind surprise!
As always, another great meal!
Nice place for a family Friday night dinner . Food and service good . Ambience not so good . Could be so much better with a white tablecloth , small vase of flowers , candle etc . Just a few special touches could make this excellent rather than pretty standard . Not ideal for a special occasion but fine for a simple night out .
It was so yum!
The staff was lovely and accommodating.
The food is consistently excellent. Definitely try the tortelaci - it was amazing!
Ambrosia is a delightful restaurant. My date and I shared a four course meal which was absolutely delicious. We started with Delaware oysters which were so fresh and tender. The special salad of the day was extremely flavorful, as were the grilled baby artichokes. The tortellaci (homemade pasta stuffed with veal), paired with glasses of Altesino supertuscan, was the best part of a delicious authentically Italian meal. Definitely the most authentic Italian food I have had in the greater Indianapolis area.
Great food and service like always!
Always a fabulous meal and service!
The service was outstanding. The chicken marsala was great. Portions were huge.
Ambrosia never fails. The food was delicious. The service was great. Our server was Kate. I would ask for her again. She didn’t rush us and was very attentive. Great evening!
Great food and excellent service from Dave Butts.
Excellent service. Not rushed. Had time to enjoy drinks, enjoy appetizers. Food was outstanding.
Our experience was OK, but not exceptional. Not quite what I was expecting based on other review. My wife got a chicken dish and the meat was rubbery. Calamari appetizer was excellent. My pasta entre was average. But nothing better than you can get out of a frozen/microwave meal. Portions were small enough to leave plenty of room for dessert. Place was crowded even at 5:15, so they must be doing something right. Server was fine, nothing extra, but nothing missed.
Delicious food and really great service.
Consistently good food.
Ambrosia is by far our families favorite for just a special night out or perhaps just when we’re hungry the food always delivers I did find my portion of fish stew a bit small as I was still hungry after. and that was a bit annoying but my family thoroughly enjoyed their portion size. service it was all delightful experience just try to get some more seafood into that seafood stew thank you very much
One of the best Italian restaurants in Indianapolis. Terrific good. Great atmosphere. Perfect service. Great for a quiet date.
Very nice place but still good for kids. They were so accommodating. Really enjoyed it.
Yummy Food! Great drinks! Go soon, go often! Can’t wait to be able to sit on patio in the spring!
Wonderful Valentine’s Day date!
Very good food and excellent recommendations from the server (we ate at the bar). The only downside was that the bartender didn’t know what “up” meant when I ordered amaretto. He asked if I wanted it on the rocks and I said no, up. He shook it on ice and poured it in a glass with shaved ice and an orange peel. I really just wanted amaretto up. Other than that the meal was excellent!
Outstanding service from Michael. Food is always outstanding
The food and service were very good. It was my first time eating inside and I am not a fan of concrete floors and exposed duct work look. It was very loud because of this. Very hard to carry on a conversation at our table of 4.
We appreciated the staff getting us in a little earlier than our scheduled reservation however we were put in a room that was used for a party. As a result I believe we were the only table in that room that our server was assigned to so felt forgotten about. The food was very good. This was our second visit and have to admit the service was far better the first visit.
Nice atmosphere and good food.
Our server, Michael, was outstanding!
The food here was excellent, the hostess was also very nice. We had an issues with our waiter being very inappropriate.
My friends and I dined at Ambrosia during the Indy devour event. We all ordered off the Devour menu which had great choices.
I ordered meatballs , which were good but not hot.
Wine, instead of salad.
Chicken dish with green beans. Also good but Chicken was not hot and the plate looked dirty around the edges. A scoop of mashed potatoes would of been a nice addition.
The dessert was good.
Again, this was good just didn’t blow me away.
They ran out of item on Devour menu and we had substitutions
This place is such a hidden Gem! For Devour it gives people a chance to try different places but it also gives people a great experience of what the menu offers. The wine selection was amazing. Awesome place for a family all the way up to setting in the corner for a date night. No kids menu that would be the only draw back I seen.
There's LOTS of other restaurants around, and Ambrosia has quickly risen to the top of my favorites list. The staff is exceptional too.
This is by far the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious! The service is great, everyone is friendly and inviting. We have brought all our out of state family here and we will keep coming back again and again. Love it!
Great food! The kind that makes you say “Wow”!!!
The food was extraordinary, and the service was top notch.
Always enjoy going there for dinner. Waiters and staff are very friendly. Their people
have worked there for a long time and take good care of you.
If you are a fan of Italian food, Ambrosia is a must stop for you. Great flavors pop on all the dishes. The service is prompt but not pushy. You cannot go wrong with the lasagna. Enjoy!
Great food. Great service. We would recommend. Not very busy mid week.
Our server was great and attentive. However, the food took a long time to come out (we were there 1.5 hours before receiving our entrees) and the food was extremely displeasing. Bland, tasteless, and cold are a few words I’d use to describe our dishes. Very disappointed in our experience.
We dined at Ambrosia for New Year’s Eve, and we may now have to make it a tradition. The place was booming all night, but in a great way that gave the place a fun vibe. Our server was tremendous and attentive - the crowd was an addition, not an issue.
My wife and I both had one of the special entrees served that evening - scallops with sautéed spinach all over a bed of parmesan risotto. I enjoy good scallops at places like fine steakhouses, but this dish was hands-down the best scallop dish I’ve ever had.
We topped it off with some apterifs and a cannoli - obviously - which did not disappoint. We are definitely coming back soon!
