Family friendly New Year’s Eve dinner Their pizza rivals authentic Italian pizzas. Takes me back to Venice. Pizza is a must order here. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Service was awesome. Place is a bit overpriced. My pizza came out first, and it was cold. I was half done with mine before my wife's came out. Caprese salad was 4 little slivers of tomato, with 4 nice size pieces of cheese, but way over priced.
Only saving grace was the great server.
Food was incredible and service was friendly. Great selection of beer and wine. Best pizza in San Diego.
Really poor quality pizza. The crust and sauce had no flavor, and the toppings were sparse and soggy. All other cities have much better pizza- Nederland, CO Crosscut Pizza- Chicago- Gino's, Malnati's or Al's- Seattle- Pizzeria Credo, any pizza place in NYC. The service here was super rude and condescending, too. Trip advisor reviews have never been farther off base. We actually threw away the leftover pizza- just shockingly terrible.
The flavors are perfect! We had 2 different salads and burrata to start and shared 3 pizzas with our group. Super fresh concoctions with premium ingredients. The vino was also delightful! Montepulciano di Abruzzo. Belíssimo!!!
We had a great dinner in a very nice setting.
Great food and service! Could've used a little more salt but otherwise fantastic
19th Anniversary. Weekend trip to Carlsbad. Ambrogio was one of the highlights of the weekend. Outstanding service and top notch food quality. I prefer a little more crisp on my pizza but it was still fantastic. Fennel, orange and olive salad was amazing too.
Authentic Milano! Charming owners and staff. Fabulous!!!
Best pizza in SD if you like the Northern Italian thin crust style. If not, go someplace else.
Very good Italian wine list and very generous antipasti. A find!
For our last night in San Diego, I decided to take my wife to Amrogio15 as she was wanting pizza. It was some of the best gourmet pizza we've had (and we have experienced a lot of great pizza). The staff was wonderful in helping us with our food, wine and beer selections. We would highly recommend this place for the excellent food and laid back vibe. It was a great way to cap off a wonderful week in San Diego.
The cheese pizza that we ordered was all sauce and minimal cheese. The crust was soggy. The staff was friendly and nice, the noise level was high even though only 2/3 full.
Dear guest, I am sorry to read that your experience was negative, as we work daily to provide a memorable pizza experience. An authentic Italian pizza requires just the right amount of ingredients; we top our pizzas with a whole Mozzarella Fiordilatte (or Bufala if requested) of 125 grams, more than that would overpower every other flavor. Also, it's normal that a fresh mozzarella makes the pizza softer, I understand you might not be used to it though. Best
Excellent pizza (thin crust). Very tasty. Their basic salad was also delicious, containing croutons and shaved romano cheese.
It was overrated. Pizzas were avarage. Service and ambiance were good.
Reliably high quality all around: food, service, ambiance. Easily the best pizza in SoCal and among the best dining options in San Diego. Highly recommended.
Service is not consistent. Ordered 3 pizzas, 2 salads and 1 appetizer, 3 desserts. We were there for over 2 hrs., spent almost an hour waiting for pizzas. With 3 small kids, not a good experience
Great service and food!!!
Top 3 pizza I’ve ever had
This a top notch artisan pizza joint with some excellent breads and appetizers. Highly recomended.
Too full to comment! So good!
Love this place. Come here at least once every time I am in town
The selections of entrees, appetizer, and other items is wonderful. Fun to watch the cook doing his thing. We came into the restaurant first time about 5:30 and it was quite a while, especially for the children, as we were served after a lot of grub hub and take out boxes were ahead of us. I know there's only so much room in the pizza oven, but the restaurant was almost empty and it was almost 45 minutes until we were served. However, the desserts were AMAZING, and the pizza was delicious as was my carpaccio. We'll be back.
Staff was very attentive and helpful choosing menu. Items. The food was fresh and full of flavor. We didn’t have to wait any time for a table nor for our food. Only draw back, it was very noisy in the restaurant.
Love this place! Great food and great service! Love their chocolate salami for dessert! Try it!
Best pizza in San Diego. Great service too
Excellent food and very good Italian wine list. Owner, Giacomo, is knowledgable and helpful with the wines. My wife and I dine here regularly and are always happy we did.
Amazing pizzas! Better than many we have esten in Italy!
This is a wonderful place! One of the best pizza's I have ever eaten and in the spirit of Italy-Sicily where I am from. One spectacular pizza is enough for two. We actually get two pizzas and it is enough for three nights. Their salads are light, but abundant, also enough to share. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff is friendly and competent. We go here regularly and have never had one adverse experience in food or service. Parking can be an issue and we often park in the street to the north and walk. It is no big deal - this place is worth it. We make reservations even though we are eating around 5pm and have no problems. Ambrogio15 could get hopping if it were full and might be loud if it were full. We look forward to going there regularly. Don and Donna Liponi
Wow. One of my best dining experiences ever. EVER. Wait staff was amazing and knowledgable. They picked us a perfect meat and cheese plate, perfect wine and perfect pizza which was the best I’ve ever had. EVER.
Average. Gluten free options below average
Family dinner during holidays in San Diego. Very nice place. Pizza’s tasted exactly like in Milano, we enjoyed the evening at Ambrogio15. We warmly recommend this place to anyone wishing to eat a real Italian pizza
Our second trip back during our one week vacation in SD. It was too good not to have again before our departure. You must try this amazing family owned authentic Italian eatery!
I’m from Arizona and was visiting SD after five years. We were looking for Gluten Free and great dining as one of our sons has Celiac. Most places have tiny GF pizzas. NOT Ambrogio15! They have a very generous sized GF pie. Annnddd it tastes “amazing” according to the GF expert in our family. This is a small, family owned pizza and Italian restaurant. I can’t say enough about all our pizzas, desert, coffee, etc. The service is great, the atmosphere friendly and fun. The tiramisu is delicious! Love the bottle of water on the table and the nice glassware and silverware. You can be as casual or fancy as you please. LOVE it! We will be going back before our departure and will be telling all of our SD friends and family about this amazing restsurant. If you’re thinking about going here don’t hesitate. You won’t be disappointed! Yum! 😋
We came for the first time with friends on a Saturday night, and were able to get a table without a reservation although they had a good sized crowd there. Casual, comfortable place stylishly decorated with Milanese motifs. Our friends ordered house salad and a pizza. We ordered the vegetable Scrocchiarella which is a very unusual dish. Everything was super delicious and fresh. The Scrocchiarella was like a sandwich made with thin, crunchy Italian flatbread on top and bottom, with grilled vegetables and burratta inside. Mmmmm....so delicious. You could pick up each wedge and eat it without it falling apart. We ate every morsel. Also had the molten chocolate gelato dessert, which was OK but not as amazing as the food. Would like to try the tasting menu sometime. They have two locations, we were at the Pacific Beach store.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Excellent food, wine, ambiance and service.
The best Pizza in San Diego! I really appreciated it
Ate there July 2018, cheeses were incredible. This July, cheeses were good but not even comparable to last year. What happened?
