   Amaterasu is perfect for bringing your foodie friend. I love Hide-san’s sushi and all the guests I invite are always pleased. My foodie friend said and I totally agree that not only is the sushi fresh and delicious, but the ambience and the presentation are perfect! Restaurant is also just the right size. It is my go-to restaurant.

   Went for lunch. Omakase was exceptional, one of the best on the island. I will definitely be back for dinner. They were out of beer when I went and could use more by the glass drink options. Corkage fee is relatively high if you bring your own. Ambiance could be improved. Walls are mostly undecorated and gives a cave like atmosphere. Given that it is located on the ground level of Ala Moana, the location is already as a disadvantage in this regard. Bathrooms are located upstairs in a food court. Overall experience was great and it presents itself as an exceptional value, which makes up for the subpar ambiance. Highly recommended.
