Amalia Fumelli is the inspiration behind Amalia’s Authentic Italian Restaurant. She was born in Italy in 1932, and grew up on a farm. As she grew up, she took an interest in cooking and learned everything about the Italian kitchen from her mother and grandmother. For countless hours each day, Amalia began making hand-made pasta with her rolling pin on an old, wooden table. After many years, she had mastered her pasta creations through her skilled handiwork, precise cutting skills, and the amount of love she put into her work.

Over time, Amalia has passed all of her secrets and knowledge about food along to her children and grandchildren. One grandchild in particular, Filippo Fanfani, gained a passion for the art of cooking through her guidance. As a child, he spent all his days at his grandmother’s house preparing meals for his family. The two have a strong bond, that began with their conjoining love of creating meals that are enjoyable for everyone.

Celebrated my husband's birthday here and was not at all disappointed! Food was delicious, background music was enjoyable, and service was perfect. I requested a romantic, quiet table - we sat at a quiet table for two in a corner and was so pleased - very comfortable. We'd visited this restaurant many years ago and didn't have the best experience then, but based on online reviews we thought we'd give it another go - we will definitely go back!!

I have eaten at this restaurant several times. It is always a wonderful experience. The servers I have had have all been excellent. The make wine and food recommendations, and are very good at it. The food is always yummy. It is in an old historice help, so a very need atmosphere.

My wife and I recently experienced our 5th time dining at Amelia’s and it continues to exceed our expectations. The food , service and ambiance are first rate. We shared the Caesar salad as an appetizer and both had the linguine with shrimp,which was exceptional and we both highly recommend. The house wine we ordered was a Valpocella that paired exceptionally well with our pasta dish. So…. For special occasions or just a great evening out highly recommend Amalia’s. Suggest you ask for our server Shannon who did a superb job. We will return soon … most probably with several of our friends.

Great food and ambiance. Logan provided excellent service. The menu options are a bit limiting for someone that is not a meat eater. As a non drinker , had non alcoholic options. All in all a great dining experience.

Absolutely amazing food, service and place! I highly recommend Amalia's! Natalie took amazing care of us and the food could not have been better. Truly an amazing surprise in the Wake Forest, Raleigh area!

We enjoyed our past experiences at Amalia’s. This latest visit seemed like a different time and place. We were extremely dissatisfied with the food and the exorbitant prices of the dishes. Previously, dinners were high priced, but we knew that going in. This time, the menu changes, price escalation and a downgrade in quality of the food, left us with the feeling of being “ripped off” by the establishment. Suffice it to say, the appetizers and dishes we chose to repeat from previous times, were a disappointment. Something not so good has happened at Amalia’s, we’re sorry to say… and, at close to $70 for the ribeye steak that was “guaranteed” to be great, it was not what it was made out to be. Maybe it was just an off night…but we’ll never know because we have just had our last dinner at this “used to be great” Italian cuisine.
