In 2001 Jason Weiner and Eric Lemonides opened Almond Restaurant offering reasonable prices, bold bistro fare and friendly service. The French bistro quickly became one of the top spots in the Hamptons for locals, celebrities and tourists. Chef Jason Weiner quickly established himself in the Hamptons as top toque and over the years has established a very strong commitment to using locally farmed products and local produce in order to support the local community. Fast-forward 10 years and the iconic Hamptons French bistro enters a new era in a new location in downtown Bridgehampton. Almond’s new home is a historic space with 100-year-old tin ceilings, hand carved bar, classic white subway tile and a splash of color with signature zebra wallpaper, from an eponymous Italian restaurant in Manhattan, Gino, which recently ended its 65-year tenure. The menu is comprised of many French bistro favorites such as traditional escargot, steamed black mussels and steak frites.

The restaurant hums. Outstanding service, vibrant vibe and good food. The whole experience is solid but there are a number of East End options where the kitchen produces more creative and tasty dishes than the good job done by Almond. We’d go back, but it’s not making our Foodie list. Try it, it’s a fun place.

Food was excellent, ambiance was as expected for summer in the Hamptons but sadly the service was far below par. Thankfully the manager recognized the waitress poor service and tone by compensating our dinner. Will return at some point I'm sure...

Almond is my favorite restaurant in the Hamptons, delicious and casual-sophisticated in all regards. Nick, the manager and host, makes everyone feel at home; Jason and Eric are the chef-host owners, and they impart a warmth and personal flair across all aspects of the experience.

We were in town for the horse show and dined with 2 tweens. The menu is VERY limited, but the few dishes we ordered were cooked well and tasted good. The atmosphere was nice and the place is very hip and attractive. I cannot say that I would go again....

Unfortunately Almond has raised its's prices so much that it can no longer expect diners to accept it as a casual dinner place and accept casual service. We used to go several times each summer. I don't think I will go anymore. At the prices they charge, we can go to much nicer restaurants. There was not one entree under 30 dollars, most a lot more. The hamburger "deluxe" was about $24---note: they haven't updated their website with the higher prices. The food is decent, not as special as the prices suggest. One of us had hanger steak which had great flavor but was the toughest steak he ever had. The hamburger was fine but again, nothing special. The best thing was the pickles. The french fries were ordinary. The lobster spaghetti was a big disappointment with small pieces of lobster and too many herbs which did not compliment the lobster.

The service was slow on ordering and fast on removing dishes before we were done. Our bread plates with bread still on them have whisked away. The saucer for my coffee cup was taken as I raised the cup to drink.

For the four of us, with one appetizer and three entrees, one glass of wine and 4 soft drinks, the total bill before the tip was about $200. Not worth it.

It is like, price-wise, they aspire to be a superior restaurant but their service and food are way behind. There are at least 3 other restaurants in little Bridgehampton with similar prices with better selections that have it way over Almond for a delicious dinner and World Pie, a more reasonable choice, is always there as a winner. Try one of them.

Eric and Jason never fail year after year. Just as great for a cosy December dinner as eating outside in the height of the August season. Great use of local and seasonal ingredients, good selection of reasonably priced wines and great cocktails. No trip to the Hamptons is complete for us without our fill of Almond.

Keep up the great work.

I have been to Almond many times but never on a Sunday night. The vibrancy and buzz came as a great surprise. While we ate inside, the alfresco sidewalk dining gives it a great spirit. Eric is a price and knows how to make every patron feel special, something he instills in everyone working there. You

We love Almond and while we dine here somewhat frequently, we rarely come on a summer Saturday, which was crazy busy and noisy. The service was not up to par, but has been wonderful other times so we will return.

Despite the fact that I informed our waiter that I was allergic to garlic—and he assured me that the scallops that I ordered were garlic free—the sauce that the scallops were in was loaded with garlic and I paid the price well into the next day.

Hi,
I'm an Almond regular and unfortunately this time Almond disappointed. My tablemates and I all got sick from the food and we spent yesterday recovering. I called and left a message to let them know - in case produce needed to be tossed or someone in the kitchen was sick - and received no reply. Not cool.

Unusual menu as always, focused on local sourcing. If you are local as we are, you know many of the farmers, vintners and craft suppliers. We shared the octopus (which is the past was skimpy for the price) but was excellent and a good portion, perhaps because we asked. The lobster pasta was excellent, a slight bite that didn't obscure the sweet delicate taste, relatively small portion, but plenty of lobster. My wife raved about the scallops, and we had ice cream for dessert. Two cocktails brought the bill to $150 + tip. This is the Hamptons. Added note, the owner is an active community supporter.

Once again the guys at Almond keep the standards high. Locally sourced (and named) produce features strongly, with some imaginative plays on old favorites. Cocktails and wines by the glass are exceptional and unusual, and daily specials are always worth a try. Remains one of our favorite places in the Hamptons and despite having to charge for the cost of being open out there, it's really not bad value either. One of the places we look forward to year after year.

Ordered a Korean short-ribs meal with stickey rice last weekend.
Pretty stunned that there’s only 20 er cent meat on my short-ribs, which were expected to be, at least, 50 per cent meat.
I was so turned off by the poor quality of the ribs that I didn’t even order any coffee or desserts, afterwards.
The service, on the other hand, was quite acceptable; so was the ambiance.
Cheers

One of my favorite places. Excellent food, imaginative combinations expertly prepared and presented with above normal professional service - (our server explained the sauce under the scallops, no plates were cleared until all diners were finished). The interior is a nod to places I’ve eaten at in France complete with bistro lighting, bar and le must white subway tile. It was a wonderful temperate night and the doors were open. Feels neighborhood and casual chic. Excited by the new market next door! Looking forward to gastronomic take out. There needs to be more places with this great vibe. Keep at it!
