Located in L.A.'s historic Silver Lake neighborhood on a bustling corridor of shops and restaurants adjacent to the famous reservoir, the food at Alimento draws inspiration from Italy's regional traditions while not adhering too strictly to them. Carefully sourced ingredients from local artisans and growers feature prominently among the menu's selection of small plates, pastas, and large platters designed for sharing. The food is complemented by an eclectic wine list showcasing lesser-known varietals and hard-to-find wines from small producers (many of which are organic and/or biodynamic), and by a rotating selection of microbrews from the U.S. and Italy.

Incredible food! Acqua pazza, scallop crudo and crispy polenta with baccala and salmon roe were favorites. Also puffy masa with prosciutto and truffle butter. Hmmmm!

One of my favorite restaurants in all of Los Angeles. Consistently amazing food, subtle rustic profiles and a great wine list to boot. The perfect place to remember what going out to eat is all about: community.

Nice little spot in Silver Lake! Delicious chop salad, good pastas but not exceptional. Lovely intimate spot, just know it’s noisy.

We had a wonderful brunch here over the weekend. Papas bravas, eggs benedict, apple torte with zabaglione and donut holes, all very well done, and uniquely done. Will definitely come back!

Alimento is one of my favorite more high end restaurants in Los Angeles. The food is great, as is the service, and I love that it has the feel of a neighborhood restaurant while also a place for special occasions! I frequently recommend Alimento to friends and coworkers, and will keep coming back myself.

My wife and I drive forty miles to have dinner at Alimento as often as possible. The food is consistently outstanding and prepared to our liking with subtle changes. Every time we order the Orata, as there is nothing like it and the way it is prepared moist with such an unctuous smokey flavor. All of the pastas are prepared properly and also outstanding. This visit we had the Lumache with duck sausage and we usually begin our meal with the radicchio caesar. Always a treat and always a friendly welcoming from Heather and the staff.
