HAVE HAD NUMEROUS GREAT LUNCHES HERE AND DECIDED TO TRY FOR IT OUR ANNIVERSARY. MADE RESERVATION BUT PLACE IN A SECOND ROW TABLE DUE TO A LARGE GROUP (STILL HAD NOT ARRIVED WHEN WE LEFT) AND WINDOW TABLES WERE STILL AVAILABLE. FOOD WAS MEDIOCRE AT BEST. MY WIFE'S PRIME RIB LOOKED BOILED (MICROWAVED?) MY PERCH WAS A VERY SMALL PORTION AND NOT WELL PREPARED, SIDE VEGETABLES UNDERCOOKED. THE APPETIZER (CALAMARI) WAS NOT CRISPY. HOPE THIS WAS A FLUKE. THE ONLY REASON I WAS NOT HARSHER IS THAT PREVIOUS LUNCHES WERE OUTSTANDING. (A DIFFERENT MENU ENTIRELY).

SERV ICE WAS SLOW, SLOW SLOW, FOOD OVER COOKED. A $32 steak tasted like over cooked pork chop. The place was not busy yet you waited and waited for service to show up between each course. This was our 4th time there and usually a good experience. This service and product experience was so disappointing. They did offer to take the food back, however we had waited so long to get it, we'd still be waiting I'm sure to get it corrected. Only after the check was given did we get offered coffee.

We have dined here twice. The first time was very good - the food was very good and the service very accommodating. The second time however, the service was EXCELLENT thanks to Eric! He was very knowledgeable - told us all about how they get their seafood and what makes it so good - we hadn't been told about this on our first visit. We had a larger party for our twin daughters' 9th birthday and he was spot on with what he recommended for each of them and accommodated what each was looking for for their special dinners (steak and crab legs for one and steak and shrimp for the other!) Everyone had a great meal and the pace and timing was perfect for our party of 9. We will definitely ask for Eric in particular when we are there again!

After a long day of shopping at the Howell Tanger Outlets, my BFF and I found ourselves at Alexander's Land and Sea Grille. We started with a Michigan Salad and their wonderful bread while we sipped on mojitos and jalapeno margaritas. I ordered the sea bass with risotto, and she ordered the mahi mahi dish. We were both very satisfied with our meals. Two regrets I have today are that we left no room for dessert, they sounded fantastic, and that I didn't try their calamari. The way calamari is prepared speaks volumes to me about the overall caliber of restaurant. Unfortunately, we are not from the area so we will have to plan another outing to enjoy a second dining opportunity. Hope it is sooner than later.

It can be considered a neighborhood gem for upscale dining. Food is reasonably good. My sockeye salmon, special of the day, was over done and dry. Service was good. The restaurant was not busy for a Saturday evening. The wait staff seemed always in a rush to take away our plates, even when it was obvious that we were not done and were just pausing between bites for conversations.

We have stopped a few times now on our way up north. We have never been disappointed. The food is spectacular and the service was excellent.

The service was great and the reason I gave them 2 stars. The food was horrible. The lobster bisque was tasteless. It was very dark in color and I could not figure out what kind of stock they used to make it. Did you accidentally get it mixed up with the beef stock? Sea bass was overcooked and the risotto tasted way to salty. My father ordered the Michigan trio, with add on shrimp and clam chowder. He enjoyed the clam chowder and the whitefish. The shrimp was small (45 ct?) and very over cooked which made them shrink more. They threw some dry herbs on them to finish it. The drinks were great thanks to our waitress, she used to be a bartender. Do not recommend unless its for drinks and maybe apps.

Dinner for six for a retirement celebration. We shared 3 appetizers...baby brie, fried asparagus and calamari. All were outstanding. Upon our recommendation, 2 of our friends ordered the lobster bisque. Unfortunately, it was so salty it was inedible and was sent back. Everything else was good and our waiter was very personable. We'll go back and suggest Alexander's to others...we just won't order the bisque again.
