Exceptional food, wine, ambiance and staff. Old school italian! Don’t miss it!!!
Delicious handmade pastas! Great meatballs too! Always a favorite.
The food was delicious, the best Italian food! Outdoor patio dining was set up great with live music. Excellent service.
So enjoyed our dinner in the outdoors. The service was excellent, the food scrumptious and the guitar player a nice added touch.
Meal, service and ambience was suoerb@
I went to Pirozzi the previous week and the food and service was so great, I wanted to try Alessa as it is by the same chef I thought. The service was absolutely awful. I ordered the same pasta I had at Pirozzi and it was completely different.
Eating at Alessa was fun because it was interesting to see the traffic-free zone in Laguna Beach. We hope they make it permanent. We had pizza which was good but we found the tomato sauce a little to acidic.
Everything was wonderful!
Awesome food and location.
Best Italian Food in OC!!!! Having been to Florence and Cinque Terre (yea, I’m one of those that compares everything to Italy) this is in my top 3 Italian restaurants in CA.
Dirty and the pizza was not Italian and full of oil
Always a favorite and social distancing was comfortable.
Amazing, authentic, fresh. Alessa is a must-try if you are in the Laguna Beach area. The outdoor seating is also very safe and there was ample social distancing.
We celebrated a 15th birthday and everything was absolutely amazing! Definitely coming again 😁
We came in to celebrate a birthday. When they brought us to the table the seat cushion was drenched from the previous diner. The hostess removed it and told me she would be back with another and never returned. The server Jesus was barely around. We asked twice for more bread and he never brought it to us. He never even presented us with a dessert menu and as I mentioned before we were celebrating a birthday. I don’t know if you normally do things for birthdays and I wasn’t expecting anything for free but to be offered dessert would’ve been nice. The food was delicious and the street was gorgeous but the service made the evening disappointing.
Loved the outdoor area for eating on forest!! Food good service just ok.
The service was below one star. We had to find the server & request every little thing we wanted. Salt/pepper, celery& olives in Bloody Mary. Sauce , cheese, peppers for vey dry eggplant parm. No drsg on salads. Food dry & unflattering.
First & last time there. It was not inexpensive... we should have been payed for sitting there.
Good food great staff especially host
Great as always!
First time out to dinner since COVID-19. Unfortunately not everyone on the Promenade had masks on. Alessa took everyone’s temperature before seating them. Dinner was exceptional as usual and Moreno took great care in making our experience safe and sane!
It was excellent all around ! Susan
The chef is excellent! The food is done with quality ingredients. Thanks.
Greatly disappointed. The salad dressing was just syrop and overly sweet. The mushroom pizza had way too much truffle oil. Don’t get me wrong, I like truffle but the oil just had a chemical taste to it. The burrata salad that is under carpaccio, did not over any carpaccio so it is like false advertisement.
Love the outdoor seating, great food and excellent service, always!
Great place for outdoor dining!
Burrata was excellente... drizzled in honey balsamic vinegar...
cauliflower was unbelievably good... salmon pasta special just refreshing.
Total enjoyment on a very sunny day!
Always great food!
Very good. Accommodated outdoor dining due to COVID-19. Little behind schedule from kitchen, so a little patience for your very good food to come.
I’d recommend it. Fair priced and good selection.
Absolutely delicious food and our server was wonderful. I had the arugula margarita salad for my appetizer and it was so good. I had the three cheese gnocchi for my entree and I cleaned my plate! We will definitely go again!
Our waiter was extremely considerate. He went out of his way to please us and was very professional.
GREAT Service despite challenging times. The ambiance was lovely and I appreciate their attention to social distancing. The pasta is to die for as was the pizza and salad. All so fresh. I'll be back!
The service and staff were exceptional and kind! The food did not disappoint! Do not forget to order dessert the chocolate lava cake was delicious!
We will be back!
We dined outside and everything was above average but nothing was spectacular
Alessa did not disappoint! The service and food were outstanding.
Compliments to the Hostess for going above and beyond. When we arrived we asked for a table on their patio (in front on wood patio) and she said it would be a bit of a wait. Moments later she offered us a bigger table and said she didn’t want us to have to wait for a long period of time for a two-top.
We ordered a charcuterie board with three meats and cheeses that our Waitress selected... she was perfect with her choices.
For dinner my wife ordered their Lasagna and it was the right combination of pasta, meat sauce and cheese. Very good!
I ordered the Fusilli Rossi that had crispy prosciutto in a light cream sauce. It was very good, just the right amount of sauce and did not over power the pasta.
Love the outdoor seating. Everything was great!
I have always loved the food here but the service was terrible. I waited an extra 30 minutes for my table beyond my reservation. We sat there for 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. I’m saddened that this is happening. I was so looking forward to enjoying my anniversary dinner. I hope things change as there were empty tables around us but I did not understand the poor service
The quality of the food was not the same as pre-Covid and the outdoor chairs were very uncomfortable. Our server seemed to be very inexperienced.
Enjoyed sitting in the new Promenade area. Excellent menu items. We had the Zucca pasta and eggplant parmigiana!! Would have again.
I’m a regular customer. Chef Juan made sure r meatballs and main courses were perfect.
We had the lasagna and lamb papparelle. Quite good, although the lamb really smothered the pasta.
I found we had to ask for basics eg: a straw for my cocktail (none available), no serving plates with the bread, cheese for pasta consisted of plastic to go containers. The waiter seemed put out with my requests. Diners were not separated with interspaced tables, and while the wait staff were masked and gloved, customers were not.
I left not intending to return to a restaurant that just wasn't classy.
