Our first time at this restaurant... recently opened four months ago. Our experience last night was exceptional. Tender filet the right amount of spices. The fundido as a starter was right on time. The low lighting and intimate setting makes for a beautiful date night. Currently they're only open on nights... Fri to Sun. Look for the white steps near Grilled Cheese Bistro. Outdoor and indoor seating is available. The cocktails are on point. I love a simple margarita and their original version was tasty. I chose 1800 and it was superb!
I highly recommend you check them out. The pricing is $$ so make sure your pockets are right because your bill can easily reach $$$.
Fantastic. Topolobombo watch out
The food was fresh, and deliciously different! The staff was attentive and pleasant. Though the restaurant is very small, the tables were well spaced- we didn’t feel crowded or cramped. Margaritas were top notch. We will definitely be back!
Elevated, fresh and carefully created menu. Delicious drinks ( although cocktails are a bit pricey). Service was awesome- incredibly welcoming, very cool space and the food was wonderful.
Locale davvero carino, con un ottima cucina e un servizio cortese!
I piatti erano buonissimi. L’unica critica che posso fare era al filetto troppo cotto, ma il resto era eccellente.
Da evitare l’espresso, costosissimo (7$!) e annacquato
Quality food very tasty with beautiful presentation, cozy place
Awesome private dining type experience, very small and intimate, impeccable service. Food was delicious and definitely not your average Tex mex. A little pricey but we’ll worth it for a special date night out! Will return soon.
Excellent all round experience. Will definitely be back.
Our dining experience was exceptional—The restaurant is one of Norfolk’s most valuable gems. The menu is high-Mexican cuisine…and quite different from the routine Tex-Mex variety. Our dishes were expertly prepared and served. We simply could not have had a more pleasant dining experience.
The vibe was amazing very in touch with the culture. The food was delicious and very tasteful and let’s not forget the drinks, they were well made and did not disappoint!
Wonderful dining experience! Staff was helpful, friendly and attentive. Food was beautifully prepared. Dinners were delicious.
This is a very tiny gem of a restaurant serving excellent Mexican food that is beautifully prepared, delicious, and nothing like the typical taco/enchilada places in the area. Be prepared for unusual tastes and wonderful combinations. However while one expects to pay more for gourmet cooking and service, I was not able to give this a full five stars due to some of the pricing which was a bit over the top. Cocktails were extremely high priced and while craft cocktails are lovely, these were just too pricey. I ordered the fish of the day which for me was Red Snapper and came in a wonderful mango ginger sauce with vegetables and rice. It was very good. My husband ordered the Carne Asada which was also terrific. We split an arugula salad which was large enough for two and delicious. This was all beautifully prepared and presented. Dessert was just ok. My churros had some type of filling which was unnecessary, too sweet, and remained so hot that they were difficult to eat. My husband had the Arroz con Leche he didn't care for. Overall I would recommend this restaurant and will return but wonder how successful this will remain as it is extremely small (maybe a dozen people can be seated) and very expensive.
Gracious host and owner; beautiful setting delicious food. Who could ask for more
The food and service were excellent! The drinks were beautifully crafted and garnished with gorgeous floral accents. You can tell that the owner/staff really care about their business and patrons.
An equal and welcome competitor to Luna Maya, but with a menu that further expands the Mexican food experience offering far more unique, delicious, and expertly prepared dishes and cocktails. Combined with the rustic interior, whimsical art, and exceptional service, Alebrije’s Mexican Kitchen is our new favorite.
Delicious menu with unique drinks!
Service was excellent and the ambiance is great. Overall I loved my experience, however the food may be slightly over-priced. I will still certainly recommend
Unbelievable authentic Preparations from Mexico like I haven’t had in the States. Can’t wait to return.
Pleasant experience. Decor was great. Perfect for a date.
This place is absolutely fantastic. The food is unique and the experience is top notch. Definitely upscale - you pay for the quality and attention to detail - but it is worth it. Our second time here, and we can’t wait for the next meal. The appetizers are incredible and the margaritas are exceptional. We had the tuna ceviche and the queso de mariscos. To die for. Bacon wrapped shrimp also top notch.
The food is phenomenal. This is a new restaurant that will just keep getting better. I am excited to see what the future holds.
