   Alden and Harlow is excellent, albeit expensive. You'll pay $11 for Citizens Unified Press cider in a can, and $19 for a shareable plate of scrumptious crostini with dynamite herb butter. So two people sharing a bite and having some drinks is going to run you $80 with tax and tip. It's a little noisy, but not too noisy to have a conversation. If you linger at your table for much more than an hour, they'll chase you to the bar. Fair enough, I guess--they've got to flip the tables to make a living. There's no place to hang a jacket, raincoat, or hat--except at the bar, where there are hooks in front of each bar stool. It's a lovely place--I highly recommend it. Other nearby places to consider are Longfellow, Harvest, Source, Grendel's, Grafton Street, Shay's, Felipe's, Charlie's Kitchen, The Sea Hag--and don't forget The Charles Hotel, home to Henrietta's Table.

   Server was attentive at first as he was anxious for us to place our orders, but he didn't rush us. Shared plate experience, which our server told us about but the 4 of us ordered our own meal that we were not sharing. Each meal came out at a different time, spanning well over 10 minutes. Pancakes were cold when they arrived at the table. No one ever checked in to see how our meal was, if we wanted anything else, nor was dessert ever offered. Our check arrived and that was that.

   Fantastic dinner for a group dinner. We ordered a bunch of plates and shared everything along with multiple rounds of drinks. The staff were fantastic and overall it was a great evening.

   The tapas style menu was not what we expected, but our group was an able to find a handful of dishes to share. The overall vibe was great, but the food itself was pretty average. The servers seem to prioritize upselling quite a bit.

   Service was a bit slow esp after ordering initial round of drinks. It was two glasses of wine and a cocktail. It wasn’t entirely full in the bar area or main but took 15 min. Desserts were awesome.

   Brunch was delicious. Especially the giant cinnamon roll that we shared! Service was a little lackadaisical. Once we gave the server our order there wasn't much attention. Coffee was delivered but without milk or cream or a spoon. We had to flag someone down to get it. We were told food would come out as it was ready and that was fine but there was a longer gap between deliveries than we would have liked. Kind or weird the food was literally dropped off. No one asked if we needed anything else. It was okay but a tad more attention would have been nice.

    This place is overrated. And they intentionally run out of their burger every night. This might’ve been cool 20 years ago. Nobody is falling for this anymore.
