I like the range of options available at Albion but I don't think any restaurant regardless of stature can charge £7 for porridge. Our server was very kind and polite and the ambience was fine but I won't be returning solely because of the extortionate margins on simple dishes.

It always feels like you’ve discovered your own special “ruby in the dust” when you come here. Consistently good and relaxed with quiet attention to detail.

The service was soooo bad! No one came over to us for over half an hour, not even to order a drink. My friend ordered a cider and they brought her some weird cocktail with cider vinegar and cayenne pepper without even asking. SO weird.

Food was good, but service poor. We were ignored from start to finish. Table wasn’t cleaned. No offer of drinks when we sat down. Took ages for order to be taken. 2 of 3 red wines were unavailable. Plates weren’t taken away when we’d finished and when I asked to have the service taken off the bill, I got a perfunctory nod and a new bill with no question as to why. Poor service from a place that should do much better.

Second time at Albion. Food was great but service was poor. Restaurant was not busy on a a Friday morning and we waited 45 minutes for our food- yes I did time it - that is not an estimate. I got the sense our waiter lost our order. People who arrived after us got their food before us. I do recommend this restaurant but hope my experience is not the norm.

We made a reservation for the Albion and had relatively poor service throughout the meal taking up to 15 minutes to place our order, food took close to 25 and it was not at all busy. He also tried to take our food and drinks before we were finished. We were automatically charged a service fee and when we asked for it to be removed our server stormed off and never spoke to us. Completely unprofessional and very disappointed.

The service was extremely slow - i didn't even get my juice until i was almost finished my main course and we'd been sitting for over an hour. As we were in a rush by this point I asked for the bill which ended up being the only thing that arrived quickly.

The service was impeccable, fast and the staff was super nice! The dishes are cheap and reaaaally good. My preferences were with the prawn cocktail starter and the delicious Cumberland sausages with mash and onion gravy
