   I contacted Albericos midweek to book for 15 people for dinner before a play on Saturday. I was concerned about time and discussed this with the person I booked with and the chef. We moved our reservation to 5:45 pm to be out by 7:30 pm. We arrived earlier and the table was ready. They asked us to share menus as they only had 8 available. We were the only customers when we arrived. There was only one waiter who also served as host and I guess bartender, also, give how long it took to get a glass of wine. They had no pinot grigio chilled. We began ordering but then other customers arrived and the waiter left us to take care of them. Our orders were finally taken after he seated and served yet another couple of customers. Our salad and appetizer orders came. And we waited and waited and waited for our entrees. We finally began getting then at 7:15 pm. Some of the group were not served until 7:30 pm. Our halibut, substituted for sea bass, was good, but several others did not fare so well. The pork tenderloin citrus, was overcooked, tough and dry with a red sauce that was not citrus. I had recommended this as when I had I a month ago it was excellent. This was not the same dish. I am not sure what others ordered but many were disappointed with their meals or commented that they said they were out of items that were requested, such as the sea bass or halibut. As we were the first customer of the evening, one wonders what the planned to serve. To say service was slow is an understatement. Had I not called 4 days ahead to assure that the restaurant would be properly staffed, I might be more accepting of this situation but I did call. Our group had eaten here before and enjoyed it, but this will be our last visit to Alberico’s. They do not seem to value repeat customers and are absolutely not prepared to serve groups.

   It was a quiet night when we visited the restaurant. So quiet that the chef had time to chat with us. The food was excellent. Each time a new dish was delivered to our table, Edward (the chef) came out and explained how it was prepared. I am always interested in food, so really appreciated the explanations and the attention to detail. Our server, Brittany, also did a fine job. It was one of my best experiences in San Antonio to date - and we eat out a lot!

   Very quiet in restaurant for Sunday brunch but wait for food unusually long. Have enjoyed better energy at dinner.

   We were here once before just for drinks and had been meaning to try it for dinner. Well... With so many exciting restaurants in San Antonio these days, perhaps this locale needs to consider stepping up the game. The servers, while friendly, were over-attentive and disorganized. Wrong wine served, unsure about how to serve or pronounce the wine, and basically bugged us at what felt like every other bite of our meal. And the meal left something to be desired. The carrots on one plate were so undercooked as to belong on a crudités platter, and the beets and accompanying juice on the plate of the risotto were not only unnecessary and disconnected with the main dish, but looked like blood had been drizzled on the plate. Unappetizing to say the least. Sadly, I think there are enough alternatives in the San Antonio dining scene to keep us busy and satisfied before we will make our way back.

   The food and Chef Brenton is EXQUISITE !! The Chef flat out knows how to cook!!! We let him do a chefs choice for us!!! He brought out food that was out of this world!!! The wait staff needs some direction but overall, we would go again in a minute!! It really is a MUST try!!!

   First brunch experience here. Done dinner and bar. Absolutely love this place. It's beautiful. You are treated well and the food is exceptional.
