Michael and Ryan were great!
We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. The staff made it very special.
I’ve been to Alan Wing’s before, it’s my favorite restaurant in Honolulu. If I had never been there before, I would probably never go back as the service last night was super slow. They were obviously short staffed and the staff that was there were busting it trying to keep up but everything took forever and mistakes were made. I felt bad for them but the quality of service was so far below their usual standard that it was truly disappointing and frustrating.
Despite the wait and the errors, the food was excellent and perfectly prepared. Alan Wong’s still remains my favorite.
Our server was great; however the other servers/bus boys at the restaurant were extremely rude.
Servers very robotic and fakey-nice, better to tone it down and be genuine.
Food was worth every penny! We had an amazing server, Michael, who was very knowledgable in what they were serving us. As well as each and every staff member in the restaurant. Staff was on point and very pleasant. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! You all made our two birthday evenings very special!! Mahalo (:
Food was good, but our server was very slow, not attentive, table next to us had much better waiter, our waiter didn't even wish us happy anni erssary and he forgot to give us complimentary cookies at the end if our meal.
We loved Alan Wong's Resturant. Can I give them ten stars. Great drinks and wine. Aaron and the staff had a special menu printed for our special occasion and signed by the staff. This was so thoughtful. Great ahi sashimi appetizer, tender rib eye steak and short rib beef you could cut with a fork. Dessert was also made special. Delicious chocolate mousse. This is a very very special place. We want more. We will be back

EVERYTHING was wonderful... food and cocktails were delicious. Mike Field and staff were very gracious and provided great suggestions. We will definitely return!
We were celebrating a birthday. The birthday person got a special menu signed by the chefs and staff; and a special birthday dessert complete with his name written in chocolate on the plate edge. The signed menu was later scrolled, tied with a bow and presented to the birthday person . The Tasting Menu was excellent, giving us a flavor of all Alan Wong's does best. The service was attentive and excellent. All in all, it was a memorable evening.
Love it here!
best of all
This place is incredible. We went for our honeymoon and did the tasting menu—pricey, but worth every penny. Each course was absolutely delicious. We are so glad we splurged for this special occasion meal and hope to come back again someday!
Excellent food, wonderful service and ambiance. A very special place for special occasions.
Phenomenal. The tasting menu with wine pairing was just perfect, a memorable experience.
Recommended by a number of sources, we had to try during recent visit to Honolulu. Fantastic meal - this did not disappoint. Excellent service, beautifully prepared and plated food, great flavors.
My husband and I love Alan Wong's - we go there every time we come to Oahu. The tasting menu changed slightly and it was delicious!!
Allen Wong’s is listed as a Top 💯 restaurants to eat at before you die, and I have to agree. Very unique dishes clearly well thought out with a fine attention to detail. These aren’t just your everyday dishes, but works of art, appealing to the eye as well as the palette.
If you are in Honolulu, make it a point to include Allen Wong’s on your list of “must do’s”. You won’t be disappointed.
The food here is excellent! We enjoyed the tasting menu this time around with the wine pairing. It was superb. Be prepared to dig deep into the wallet for dinner here but its well worth it.
The food is consistently high in quality. They support local sourcing of ingredients and menu choices are broad. Great for a special date or just a nice dinner overall.
Been here many times and it’s always consistently great. There is a Hawaiian saying for a place like this especially when the food is great......”it broke da mouth”
This place always has excellent service and AMAZING food. We always leave more than satisfied!
One of the best meals we’ve ever had. The food and service were spectacular.
We had a difficult time getting the attention of the waiter. The gentleman who handles the valet car service was excellent and very personable.
Innovative, creative cuisine. Unique dishes. Service was amazing. Waitstaff does a superb job of keeping explaining the dishes. Definitely worth a visit
We had the tasting menu and the wine pairing. It was awesome.
Sensational. One of the most wonderful dining experiences you can ever have.
Always outstanding food and great service, But this time we missed the Ahi Stack as the hurricane prevented some fressh fish being available. But we'll be back. And THANKS for signing my birthday menu!
Did the tasting menu. First two courses so not special. (Soup/sandwich and shrimp lasagna.) While the following two courses and dessert were very good, they still didn't justify the premium price point like the River Café, Batard and Daniel would in NYC.
Truly special. We booked it as a treat on our honeymoon and it was a great experience. The snapper and ribs were delightful.
We tried the tasting meal and really enjoyed it. Our waiter Michael was amazing!
Very glad we chose Alan Wong’s to celebrate our anniversary.
Had the tasting menu. The “soup and sandwich” was creative and fun to eat. Except for the sparkling wine, we found both the wines and the pairings awful. While the courses were interesting, preparation of the dishes was so-so. Service was truly outstanding, so while we didn’t find the food and wine especially wonderful, we still had a good time. Staff there is that good.
Food was very good and the service from valet to wait staff was excellent.
Returning to Alan Wong's for the first time in several years to celebrate our anniversary, my wife and I enjoyed our meal but were disappointed that the dinner did not rise to the outstanding level we expected. She had the goat cheese and beet salad followed by ginger crusted onaga. I had the whole tomato salad and pan steamed opakapaka. We shared a pineapple "shave ice" dessert and also enjoyed a complimentary chocolate cake dessert with anniversary greetings beautifully inscribed in chocolate on the plate. Service was great. Alan Wong's was one of the founders of Hawaii regional cuisine, and his restaurant enjoys a reputation as a destination dining experience. Maybe it's just that so many other good places with creative cooking aspirations have opened in the last couple of decades, but this meal, while tasty enough, didn't stand out from the pack. Some of the ingredients that once reflected sparkling originality (li hing mui ume vinaigrette for the tomato salad) now seem like routine localisms. The pineapple dessert was an exception, cleverly conceived and well executed.
