About this restaurant

Al Waha means "oasis," and at the award-winning Al Waha restaurant, you'll dine on our carefully prepared Middle Eastern specialties, all in a peaceful, relaxed, yet elegant environment. (We are the same Al Waha you remember from the Piccadilly area -- we've just left the hustle and bustle of the West End, and now call the more tranquil Notting Hill area home.)

Dinner with friends at the Al Waha in Westbourne Grove, W2, was an enjoyable experience, with the food, wine and service all contributing to a convivial evening at a reasonable cost.

I had very high expectations after reading the reviews. The food especially the starters were very good but not exceptional. The mixed grill that came with the main meal was OK. I guess after getting full with the starters you cannot have much more. Overall a pleasant evening.

I have been to Al Waha several times over the years and always had great meals there. On this occasion it was probably even better than usual - flavoursome and spicy (but not too) and the set menu/mezze for 2 was very good value. We washed it down with good bottle of Chateau Musar - there are 2 on the wine list, with quite a big price difference - the cheaper was fine, but lacked some of the length and heft the best years can deliver. Service was good and I'd certainly recommend it. The 4 star rating is really 4.5!

I went there with my family. The restaurant is not that big but they have tried to make the best of it. The food and service was good. I would not mind going there again but would not make a special effort.

Boy their food is good. Al Waha on Westborne Grove is surely as good as Lebanese food gets.

Al Waha, Lebanese, London W24UL. Booked here as recommended elsewhere as veggie friendly. True, but only 1 main dish and cold starters were, so had selection of starters instead of main. Excellent if a bit salty, very fresh and tasty, but shame about lack of hot choice. Meat dishes at other tables smelt and looked wonderful so will definitely be back to try them. Patronised by Lebanese regulars and full with queue on a Thursday. Service fine, though rather disengaged. Toilets clean, but tired.

I went here for a midweek meal with two friends. We were squeezed into an awkward corner despite the restaurant being half empty. The waiter acted as though we were an inconvenience because we asked for a few more minutes to choose from the menu. You'd think that their card machine not working would mean their attitude was a bit more friendly. Having said that the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered lots of small dishes as we were all vegetarian and there was lots to choose from. I'm not sure if i would visit this place again.

The food at Al Waha is good: simple but tasty & well prepared (although the baklava was dry). The staff are friendly & attentive. However, the restaurant is overpriced (£25pp for a small starter, main & beer) and the place is in need of modernisation from its current 1990’s feel. It seems the owners are resting on their laurels, using good reviews & recommendations as an excuse for inflated prices in an outdated restaurant. Green Lanes in Haringey is better for Middle Eastern food in London.
