Not good. Reservation was at 6 and we didn’t get our first course for over an hour, had to ask for check just to be out by 8:30.. Waiter did not come back to give updates on timing or to check in drinks, refill water. Not a good experience.
The doughnuts and the vanilla gelato were great. Food was good but would’ve liked some more options with seasonal vegetables and fruits!
We both had a great meal here, we live this small quaint restaurant. Been here several times, food is always great!
We walked out after waiting 45 minutes for food that never came.
Second time in our 35 years of marriage.
I love this place, but during the summers they should put some fans for their green house outdoor seating. It was hot and uncomfortable 30 minutes into starting drinks and food. The food always has been consistently delicious!
the food and service were excellent. what i appreciated most, though, was the ambiance - relaxed and quiet. it was actually possible to enjoy good conversation without shouting to be heard across our table.
Food was fair for the price. Outside seating area was hot. Staff should open the outdoor seating area windows before opening for the day.
The food was excellent, and the ambiance was very good.
Great food and outstanding service. We had the mushroom appetizer which was really tasty! Excellent complimentary bread was also served. I had a beet salad with chicken added that was excellent. They did not skimp on the chicken breast. Our server was very attentive but not bothersome.
The service was prompt and attentive and the food (spaghetti and meatballs) was very good and tasty. We also had some appetizers and a glass of wine and were not rushed. We enjoyed our table in their covered, outdoor patio and had a pleasant dinner.
We were attending a Rose Wine Dinner Al Fresco dinner created by the Chef Johnathan Hunt and Erin Ungerman from the New France Wine Company yesterday.
The restaurant has a very cool patio with retractable roof above, absolutely great feature.
The restaurant was busy , the patio was full with all guests attending this event.
Rose Wine Dinner Al Fresco had a full house.
We were greeted by Erin from the New France Wine Company and we were seated.
As our reception wine was ; Tintero . Piemonte Rosato 2018 from Italy, very nice , refreshing ,exciting and bubbly.
Chilled tomato soup, avocado, jicama, radish- phenomenal dish, great for the hot days, fresh, refreshing very smooth, excellent
Avignonesi, Cantaloro ROse 18, Italy- very light almost like Pinot Grigio, to me it was just too flat and without any excitement
Beef tartare, remoulade, pickled ramps, crostini
Clos Cibonne, Cotes de Provence Rose Traditional 17, France -it was performing well with the dish
Seafood paella, chorizo, saffron, peas and sofrito very good spanish paella prepared by chef Marco...great dish
Bodegas Los Bermejos, Rosado, Lanzarote 18 Spain ( Canary Islands) it was great pairing with the paella
Stone fruit tart, vanilla gelato both were really tasty and exciting
Elio Perrone, Bigaro Rose 18, Italy was fruity and sweet, good combination with our dessert .
Chef Marco from Veracruz,Mexico did a phenomenal job cooking spanish paella. Chef Jonathan, Erin and the Al Vinto supporting team did a fine job preparing all dishes during our event.
Overall the event was very educational and fun, four courses were plenty for me to enjoy. Excellent food, wine and right people to be around.
We ate outside and had a great time! Having been to Italy, I can't say it's the best Italian I've ever had - but certainly some of the best in MN! Great for date night with your SO! Friendly servers, nice atmosphere - I recommend!
The food remains to be amazing and delicious at Al Vento. Sadly, the wait staff has decreased in customer service. They are either hiring new to being a service person people, or not holding them accountable to customer service, checking on customers, refilling water and drinks and caring about customers.
I love Al Vento and will give them another chance. As this has not always been the case, but it’s definitely getting worse over time.
Love their mother sauce and spaghetti! A great date night location or a place to catch up with friends.
Great happy hour and setting for groups. Love the ambiance on the patio but also great wine list.
Service was very slow. We ordered salmon and it was over cooked.
Don’t waste your time or money!
Very beautiful place to converse and dine. Always accommodating and warm. Excellent food options and fantastic craft cocktails. The staff are incredibly kind. One of my favorite places in Minneapolis.
Went for the Father’s Day Sunday buffet. Such a cute place - the sunroom space was a great place to sit. The service was pretty disappointing.
It was decently full but not packed but it took about 5-7 minutes to have someone stop by the table, even though our server passed our table 3 times. We were out of water and coffee for about 1/2 the meal and it took three asks to get one refill. Buffet was good but not mind blowing. They ran out of plates for a long time.
Highlights: eggs Florentine, zeppole (doughnuts), and chocolate fountain were awesome. The rest was ok. I don’t know that I’d recommend it to a friend at this point, but I’m willing to give them another try.
Nice European Sunday brunch
This is a hidden treasure. Top-notch Italian cooking and attentive service. Dishes are not cheap, but portions are generous. Each time I have shared the delicious beet salad and an entree with my companion and it has been more than enough. BTW: Noah-the-waiter rocks.
We have always loved Al Vento. Our latest visit was disappointing, though. First, when we walked in, there was a strong smell of ammonia. Luckily, we sat out on the patio. We ordered wine and had to wait a long time for it; it seemed that the restaurant was understaffed. Then, we had a very nice appetizer and ordered entrees. The bucatini we wanted was not available, so we picked another. After a long wait, a different server came to tell us that the kitchen was out of linguine as well! So, we picked yet another meal. Then, when our food finally arrived, one of the dishes was wrong. Luckily, the staff caught the mistake and quickly remedied it. The service was generally good; they comped our food to make up for the inconvenience. It seemed that the kitchen was really out of wack. I would go back, but I sure hope this was just a bad night and not the new normal. I have been to Al Vento many times and have always had excellent food and service.
Brunch was very good! Good variety of assorted foods. We loved the salad items, the donuts and the fresh fruits. The poached eggs Florentine were tasty. Your coffee is excellent.
Phillip was an engaging and attentive server.
We are so glad we came! (This is not the first time we have enjoyed your brunch!)
Thank you! 😊
Great value for the type of restaurant that it is. Everything was delicious. We received just the right amount of attention from our server. Looking forward to many date nights here!
Love this place! Neighborhood gem! Charming staff! Nick, the bartender, crafts the best cocktails and is so thoughtful! The food was delicious and the staff was incredibly gracious! Highly recommend!
The food was delicious, our server was attentive, and our table out on the patio was lovely. The Tuesday night 3-course option was a great value. I will definitely be back.
Outdoor seating area was loud. Server never brought bread or refilled water. Food was lukewarm.
Al Vento is always a great meal
Great food and service. We will be back. Ambience, quality, outdoor patio. All fantastic.
Service, wine and food was great. Waiter was very attentive.
The drinks were awesome, the service even more so! And each dish - from the bread to the bruschetta to the gnocchi and chicken picatta - each was more tasty than the last. Al Vento is a hidden gem.
Food was not particularly good and service was poor.
Al Vento never fails!! It's perfect for date night
The waiter was rude, took 1/2 an hour to come and take our order. Continued to be rude through the entire 3 hours. I get that 9 people is hard, but then don’t take large groups if you don’t want them.
Very slow service. Left plastic casing on meat platter, was not appealing
A family dinner party to celebrate a milestone birthday. Our server was a gracious hoster and the cocktails and food were delicious.
Great service from Noah and a beautiful meal! Loved the garlicky, lemony halibut.
Really didn’t know what to expect and we were blown away! Cute hole in the wall that once inside is bigger than expected but still felt small and quaint. Bruschettas, pizzas, pastas and fish/chicken entrees...all were amazing!
Great brunch and $8 bottomless mimosa, screwdriver, bloody deal is ridiculous. I’ll be back 10x this summer.
Food selection for brunch was fair, not a lot to choose from. Food was often scattered, splashed onto the surrounding table. We sat inside and it was cold. The food we ate was good, but only one main dish.
Buffet was often out of items. Otherwise good. Good service.
