Al Dente Restaurant
Fresh cheese and lobster ravioli prepared in a light marinara sauce with shrimp, a touch of cream and pecorino romano cheese.
4 of us dined out and had a great evening. Lisa was our server and she was exceptional. No rush and we took our time. Appetizers and dinner was great. Restaurant is small so there will always be some energy and volume.
Joanne was amazing! 10/10 would come back!
They put us in a corner and I was sat face to face with a glade air freshener plugged into the wall. All I could smell was chemicals pointed at my face, not the food.
Food was ok, not the best, healthy portion sizes.
The waitress gave us the check right after we finished dinner, didn't ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. I thought that was a bit rude.
Always grew at food. People complain about the atmosphere and service. It's the north end. Get use to it or go back to the olive garden
Perfect night in the north end!
Everything was delicious!!! The favorite was the scallop & shrimp dish on homemade fusilli with a vodka sauce, OMG!
Food was amazing with huge portions for the price. Make a reservation! Waitress Joanna was friendly, kind and helpful. Everyone loved their meals and I would go back again.
We had lobster ravioli, spaghetti wjth meat sauce a meatball and and Italian sasuage, a dish with scallops in it and the caprese salad.
Super small place and tables are tightly packed.
No changing table in restroom for baby/toddler
Not very handicap accessible so as my child gets older I might not be able to take her here anymore
LOVED our waitress. Food was delish. Had a reservation and they were able to take us early.
Had a very good experience - I had been here once before and really enjoyed it. The arrabiata is amazing for anyone who loves spicy food!
We had such a lovely dinner at Al Dente! We were greeted at the door by name of the reservation and brought to a cute little table against the wall. The place was busy! But still extremely enjoyable. The food was outstanding!!! The service was great!
Server was uninterested. We were sat at the table closest to the door and in the middle isle. So not only did we get the constant cold air and people coming in and out but also server butts rubbing on both sides of our table. Found a hair in the caprese salad. Shrimp and scallop a la vodka tasted like it was made yesterday and nuked. The gnocchi on the specials section had significantly more mushrooms than gnocchi and if I’m being nice maybe 2 sundried tomatoes. Will not return. Go to Beneventos.
It was my first time. My coworker and I were the only ones when we got there and we were greeted and sat down immediately. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful in giving us suggestions and being very attentive. She refilled our bread basket without being asked which, for a bread lover, sealed the deal for me. I just wish I asked for her name. Anyways, I got the carbonara and added chicken while my friend got the chicken parm and we both enjoyed our meals. The portions were huge. We both didn’t even get through half of our plates and we both starving when we got there. I would definitely come back again. Nice waitresses, great food, good vibes.
This was our third visit to Al Dente and the food was incredible as always. Small crowded place with a fun environment. If you are looking for quality Italian food, then don’t hesitate to check this place out.
Great food, service, and energetic environment!
Great every time!
Requested for sausage and peppers appetizer (not listed on the menu) and it was overcooked. The rest of the meals were delicious!
We had an amazing lunch with even better service!
Since I am Italian, I enjoy Aldente's tomato sauce very authentic.
Pasta cooked aldente! Just right.
Very much enjoy the waitress, reminds me of my Italian aunt!
Excellent service, we have been coming here for years.
Host at the door was very rude. The fresh pasta was thick and almost meaty in texture. The Al Dente Special is literally a crockpot of veal, chicken shrimp and pasta- it tasted completely unseasoned and its just not clear how something like that can come out of a professional kitchen. The staff was nice however and prices reasonable for North End. A disappointing attempt at a mom n pop italian joint.
We had a 8:30 reservation and we felt very rushed to leave. They should change the cut off time. Waitress was very nice.
The Gentleman “greeter” at the front door was a poor representation for this tiny restaurant. He was not friendly nor especially helpful and it tainted the experience from the moment we walked in.
We made our reservations for 9pm and when we got there at 8:45pm, they hadn’t even taken in the 8pm reservations. We stood on the street for 30 minutes past our reservation before we gave up and left.
Never got to try to food or even make it in the door. I’m sure the place is fantastic but we were extremely disappointed with their lack of organization.
It was Valentine's weekend. They were well overbooked even with a reservation we were stuck waiting outside in the cold for 45 mins before we were allowed in to be seated. Our waitress was great! The food was delicious and they give you complimentary Limoncello shots. We had a good time once we were seated and out of the cold.
Fantastic as always! Great friends weekend dinner.
Excellent experience every time we dine here. Angela V. was the best server we’ve probably ever had at an establishment. We even got the doorman’s name, Michael.. because he was such an friendly and personable guy. Very happy with our experience here.
Great food and service with large portions all at really good prices.
It was just OK! Our waitress was excellent but the dishes were on an average par with other Italian restaurants we've been too!
The food was fine. The low rating is because of how rude the door man (the one who seats you) is. We had a reservation, and when I told him he said irritatedly “you are early. ” We were 10 minutes early and there were tons of empty tables. I said we don’t mind waiting. He then grunted and said come. He pushed through the door and didn’t hold it, and I almost got smacked in the face. It was extremely rude.
It’s really important to treat customers well, I hate this snobby attitude that some places have. We had no issue with our waitress.
Food was excellent!
My vendor/friend was in Boston on business and she let me pick where to have dinner. Al Dente did not disappoint! The pumpkin ravioli appetizer was surprisingly delicious. Our entrees were generous portions. The pasta was fresh and they have a great wine selection. Lots of seafood dishes came out while we were eating and I’d like to get the diavolo next time. Highly recommend! Great service.
Great experience as always!
Had the tenderloin Al Dente and it was the BEST!!! Portion was just rite not to big not to small. The people that work there are very pleasant and attractive to your every need. Menus makes it hard to choose from all the authentic Italian that just makes your mouth water 😀
Will definitely be back soon!
Disappointed that the prices on the opentable menu do not reflect actual prices. We went on a Monday night and were some of the only people there.
Celebrated two birthdays. Our table was crowded against the wait staff stand and just wasn’t cozy. Otherwise excellent
Excellent gluten free offerings. Impeccable service
Fastest service ever and very gluten friendly for celiacs! No dessert here though and it’s quite noisy.
Love this place!
We arrived quite early, 45 minutes before our reservation on a busy Friday night. We were greeted by a friendly man, possibly the owner, who escorted us next door where we ordered a glass of wine at the bar of an associated establishment. At our reserved time he came over to bring us back to the restaurant which was buzzing and crowded. Tables were small and tightly spaced consistent with a small venue in the North end. We were provided good crusty bread, but with small packets of generic tasting butter, but when we asked for it olive oil with balsamic and parmesan were quickly provided. We had calamari as an appetizer, which was hot, tasty, and of generous quantity, actually too much for two people. Main course was pumpkin ravioli for my wife, and shrimp scampi with fresh pasta for me: Very tasty and light for both dishes. Overall, great food and good service at a pretty reasonable price. We will definitely return, but probably pass up the appetizer so we can do justice to the main course!
I felt like I was at home with my family. And all of the amazing Italian dishes. So happy I came here. What an amazing meal!
Love this place! Food is always hot and tastes delicious!
