Brought my wife her birthday. We left very happy about how everything was. Service was great. Food was a 9 out of 10. And honestly pretty well priced. Good value

Overall experience was pretty bad. We started by being seated in a table where the sun was shining directly into our eyes, after asking to move service was a no show finally took our drinks order which took a long time to arrive. Food quality is not the best either, plates didn’t arrive in order, after having to wait to order for a second drink our sake showed up as we ordered the bill and to make things worst the restaurant didn’t even acknowledge our anniversary which was noted on the initial reservation.

First visit and it was AMAZING! truly one of the best rolls I’ve ever had! We shared many dishes and every single thing was delicious! The butter cake didn’t blow my mind like everything else but it was still good. This restaurant is gorgeous inside and located right in the heart of downtown. Give it a try

I did a reservation for this “hot spot” in downtown for my best friend birthday. I wanted to pick something new and great in food quality. First of all, I called the restaurant as soon as they opened so I can drop of the cake for that night’s celebration, they were very unresponsive through their phone and even throughout the open table app. I had to go there in person with the cake and asked. The lead server was very nice and I helped me out to accommodate that. I left her a note that the cake was for my reservation and to remark that we have for a birthday that day. Later on when we went, the server opened up 2 bottles of sparkling water without asking the table which we didn’t even drink because we were only 3 people and mostly drinking cocktails. After that we order a few appetizers and asked the waiter for recommendations but she did not know the menu which was okay.. but situation started getting annoying when we requested the sever not to bring all appetizers at the same time since the table was small but still she did not listen. She did not know how to place the plates in the table or even organize it in a good way. It was very uncomfortable.. we ordered the bone marrow which was dry and with all honestly coming from the east coast one of the worst bone marrow dishes I have ever had, we had the oysters which were not too bad except for the fact that they were extremely satly and finally we ordered shrimp and veggies temperature from which we only got 2 shrimps. The worst part of this was the bone marrow it was definitely a disappointment we asked the sever to take it back and the manager came to apologies but to be honest I wish I never took my best friend there for her birthday dinner. We didn’t get any additional dishes and decided to go to TAKASHI which is not a fancy place but has great quality of food and flavor and the service is amazing! I wouldn’t recommend this place to any person that knows about good quality food.. Food looks good but tastes bad.

I visited Aker yesterday and had mixed feelings about the experience. The ambience of the restaurant was very nice, and the staff was attentive and kind. Unfortunately, the overall experience was affected by an uncomfortable situation. There was a couple at a nearby table behaving in an overly intimate way, which made the environment feel awkward and inappropriate for other diners. We noticed several guests looking uncomfortable, and the staff and management were clearly aware of what was happening but didn’t step in to address it. That really impacted the atmosphere. As for the food, it was disappointing considering the price. The sushi rice was not well-prepared, and the fish didn’t taste fresh. Compared to other sushi restaurants in Salt Lake City, the quality was noticeably lacking. While the ambience and service were good, the poor food quality and lack of management action made this a disappointing experience overall.

Server was nice, but very forgetful. Opted not to write anything down, and they forgot a lot of things because of it. Wasn't that attentive. $18 for a bottle of San Pelegrino is absurd. Got the same bottle at Blind Rabbit for $6 two nights prior. Also $18-$20 for a drink is absurd - this is salt lake city, not Manhattan - especially when theyre highly metered in SLC. Food was good, though.
