From entering through the door of the Shangri-La we were greeted by friendly staff and made to feel most welcome. The table by the window gave us a superb view of tower bridge and other areas of London. The staff were attentive and friendly and attention to detail was superb. The seaside afternoon tea was plentiful, displayed lovely and tasted just as good. The experience was one made very special by all and I highly recommend the experience. One I would return to again

The food choices were poor eg the sandwich bread was stale and store bought, there were no hot food choices. They provided one extra serve of stale sandwiches and no further cold canopies. The sweet food was plentiful and very good.

This is a must do! An amazing view of the city! The food & presentation was so fancy & fun!! Highly recommend!!

The tea and food was wonderful. Views were great. Were provided boxes to take test back to hotel. At first we were not given a bag for the boxes. Later we were. A bit expensive, but we knew that going in.

We appreciate the small detalis like everyone from the main entrance to all in the restaurant greeted my husband a Happy Birthday! Thats really a shangrila way evrywhere we go.

I went to the Shard for my birthday today with my family. I’m visiting from the U.S., so I reserved the table well in advance and was expecting an exceptional experience based on the reviews I read online. I was VERY wrong. Anyone reading this should take my advice and ignore the hype and miss this at all costs. The theme of the tea was “Seaside in the City”. Should have been named “Swindle in the City”. My server was outstandingly bad. Here is a summary of the many things he messed up: •Spilled water on my niece. •Forgot to bring mocktails for the children at the table. After two reminders he finally brought it over when we were mid-meal. •Presented with a dirty napkin that I had to ask to be replaced. •Gave the children incorrect sandwiches when I had asked that they be served the adult menu. •Poured cold black tea into a green tea when showing (without me asking) us how to use the strainer. Teacup had to be replaced. •I asked twice for some Cherry Blossom tea. I never got it. The service was so bad I had to ask for the service charge to be removed. I have NEVER done that before in a restaurant. As an American it felt very wrong not to tip, but the service was atrocious. The food was very average. The beef sandwich was incredibly dry. I couldn’t taste any truffle in the egg sandwich. The Blue Horizon was so tart it made one person at the table gag. The quality of the food was super average, certainly not matching the standard of the other (many) afternoon teas I’ve had. Finally, the view from the table was awful. I had no view of the downtown area, but instead had a view of a railyard and a building site with Bermondsey and Peckham in the background (no offense to Bermondsey and Peckham). We were sat so far from the iconic London skyline that my 9-year-old mistook a pylon for a view of the Eiffel Tower. Certainly not worth $409 (£290 + 3.5% exchange rate markup). Overall, I feel completely ripped off. This place is a total joke. Avoid at all costs.

We had a wonderful time! The service was incredible, the food was delicious, and the view from the Shard was incredible. Highly recommend splurging and going here for afternoon tea.

Wow! Fantastic view and great food with great staff!! We had afternoon tea at Ting. Fantastic Rooibos & Milk Oolong teas. I was hoping for more Asian flare in the tea foods & dessert selections, however, the sandwiches and desserts were over the top good! Can't beat the views from the restaurant and the staff was top notch! One of the best afternoon teas we have had, though it came with a price to match the quality. Do not miss eating here!
