Afternoon Tea

We are delighted to be one of London's finest afternoon tea establishments. Our quintessentially English afternoon tea is served with the finest bone china crockery and a tiered cake stand full to the brim with mouth-watering finger sandwiches, scones with lashings of whipped cream and jam, cakes and sweet biscuits. Served with premium JING loose teas, or accompanied by a glass of bubbly, it really is an experience every guest just must indulge in.

  • Traditional Afternoon Tea

    Tea for two? Delicate finger sandwiches, homemade scones with whipped cream and strawberry jam, all served with a perfectly blended cup of JING loose leaf tea.

    • Champagne Afternoon Tea

      A tiered cake stand full to the brim with delicious cakes, finger sandwiches, homemade scones and sweet biscuits, all served with a perfectly blended cup of JING loose leaf tea and an effervescent glass of bubbly.

      • Children's Afternoon Tea

        The 'Teddy's Tea Time' menu is specifically for kids to enjoy their very own Afternoon Tea. Served with a variety of delicious sweet treats including; chocolate dipped fresh fruits, flavoured ice-cream, pastries and cakes and an iced fruit cordial. Children will take home a complimentary Montcalm teddy bear to remember their very own Afternoon Tea time at The Montcalm London Marble Arch.

          I went to the Montcalm for afternoon tea with my mum, my friend and her mum on Saturday 7th April for a special treat on a girls' day out. The hotel itself looked beautiful and there was a pleasant atmosphere, but whilst we had a lovely time together, it wasn't the best place available for afternoon tea. We arrived about 5 minutes late to our reservation to find that our table had been given to somebody else. Although I recognise that being late was our fault and it was a busy time, it seemed a little early to let our table go so quickly! However, it must be said that the staff were apologetic and accommodating: they gave us a comfortable place to sit in the bar to wait for another table, and were able to make one available in just a few minutes, so we were grateful! However, when we received our food and drinks, we were unsure about the value for money. The food was tasty and there was a variety of teas to choose from, but none of it was exceptional and the mums of the group remarked on how the décor and the presentation didn't suit an afternoon tea experience. Also, whilst none of the staff were unfriendly, nobody came to check up on us at any point, and it seemed strange for the service to be lacking in such a fancy-looking hotel. I should stress that this wasn't upsetting to us and we weren't rude about it at all; it only stuck out because we'd all had afternoon tea in cheaper places where we felt the food and the service was better. Overall, we had a pleasant afternoon in a lovely venue, but an underwhelming afternoon tea experience that would have been better and cheaper even in somewhere like Patisserie Valerie or Caffe Concerto. However, I would be interested to return for dinner or lunch instead, as the ambience in the restaurant may suit those meals better.
