   At first we phoned to book a table and we were told there were no spaces but when we checked on OpenTable there was availability and so we booked a table for four within the hour. When we arrived the tea room was empty, we were seated and we said we wanted to order afternoon tea. We were not shown a menu and we were not given the opportunity to mention several of us were vegetarian. The first waiter was a bit sniffy and unhelpful; the second waitress was lovely although her English was not brilliant and the third waitress when we try to ask for the bill did not understand and kept offering more tea and asking for a voucher which we did not have because we had just booked. The hotel was easy to find, parking was directly outside. The food consisted of crustless sandwiches which were very nice, little cakes - we tried one of each but they were only okay and then there was a scone each but the tea was only £23 for two including a glass of champagne.

   This was a really good value afternoon tea with a glass of champagne included. After sorting out a confusion over the booking the service was friendly and attentive and the sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious. We will go again.
