My husband ordered Shakshuka because menu said it was served with flatbread. They brought him toast. When he mentioned it they said they had no flatbread at all on the menu. This was on Father's Day. The butter on the bread was RANCID. It took Forever for the food to be brought out. The experience was less than desirable. Our server was nice, but extremely busy. They seemed to be severely undesrstaffed.

The fish was bone dry, the ribeye was very tough and old, and it’s obvious the chef is a novice and trying to see himself as a fine dining chef. The flavorless , charred cabbage served with the halibut made absolutely no sense. We were also charged $111.00 for a bottle of Justin Cabernet for in room dining! Such a disappointment. The original restaurant 1540 was exceptional and should have been Michelin rated. In contrast, the service provided by our server TJ was top notch and worth the $235. Unfortunately, We will NEVER return.

Terrible food. Drinks, so so. Service was the only positive. Burrata dish was served with burnt (charcoal grade) toast. Halibut was overcooked and served with a thick, creamy and extremely salty paste…completely destroyed the flavor of the fish. Overall, everything was overtly salted. Had had good experiences at their formal dining room that is now closed…definitely will not return there for food.

Loved the food and the service was great. Drinks were tasty and the steak was amazing. Liked the Caesar dressing very authentic and original. T ha ambiance was so comfortable and pleasing with such a great view of the sunset inside the beach. I definately would be back.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and the view is great so they get five stars on ambience. The servers were also delightful and seemed for the most part on top of things. The dinner menu selections/choices were left wanting. The tomato and burrata salad was just plain strange and very overpriced. The roasted chicken was a mess —delivered to look like a salad with vegetables and then had some very odd tasting sauce at the bottom of it. Roasted Chicken is a dish that any restaurant should be able to to do well -but this was an absolute fail not to mention expensive. The Caesar salad was good but delivered in weird small bowls that made it impossible to cut up. How about salad on a plate if you keep the leaves intact? The chef just seems to be trying too hard to take straightforward menu items and turn them into something they should not be. This is a great place to come for a drink, but I would not want to eat here again unless the menu and the approach to food and its presentation changes dramatically. Too expensive and food does not measure up to the high prices. Nine dollars for a few pieces of bread and butter says it all.

We visited Adelaide in Del Mar for a Mother’s Day brunch, drawn in by its stunning ocean setting and overall beautiful ambiance—ideal for special occasions. The service was exceptional, which significantly enhanced our experience. Despite the wonderful setting and service, the food was only average, especially considering the cost of $150 per person. The prime rib was uninspiring, and while the oysters and crab claws were acceptable, the crab claws were not well cracked and lacked tools for easy eating. Additionally, other offerings like avocado toast, biscuits and gravy, and eggs Benedict were notably soggy. Overall, while the experience was great, the food quality did not live up to the expectation set by the price. Enhancements in culinary execution are needed to match the venue’s impressive potential.
