Waitstaff was nice but novices at the trade. Service was slow although place not very crowded. Food has been better in the past.
Did not live up to expectations. Service was terrible. Food was average at best. Drinks were good. Ambiance on patio was nice until a couple at another table got into an argument, one got up to leave as the other started loudly cursing her out as she was leaving. Not sure I would ever do this again.
I will definitely go back. The beignets were more like sopapillas than beignets but they were tasty. The Acadian Rose cocktail was good but I didn’t care much for the Anana Frais cocktail, not much character. The shrimp and grits were awesome!!! I’ll be craving those for a long time.
There were highlights and lows. Great Caesar salad and crab cake appetizer. My wife loved her pasta dish. My redfish entree was just okay. The dish was really heavily dependent on the sauce. The dirty rice is not the authentic Cajun style. Our waitress was nice and friendly, but she didn’t know the special or the brand of the house Cabernet they serve. There was live music, and they were good. I’ll give it another try. Just expected more for the first visit.
The service was lacking. They were nice but did not have tea selection. At the end they rushed us to pay the bill so that the waitress could check out. We were going to order more food, but since she rushed us to pay, we closed out our check and went somewhere else for dessert and after dinner drinks. Missed a sale as we spent another $100 later that night .
Took them 10 minutes to even come to the front to greet and even then it was because I went to find someone.
Server didn’t know the menu. She basically just said I don’t know and didn’t offer to go find out.
Had to ask for water after sitting at table for 15 minutes without service. Took a long time to get your drinks. The Sazerac was a joke. It’s like three little sips.
Very disappointed. I was really looking forward to eating here and it was just a terrible experience.
The food here is always excellent, but the service this time was just . . . not great. Waited quite a while for several things, had to remind the waitress to bring several things. Overall not as impressed as I’ve been in the past. The food will 100% keep me coming back; just hope the service improves, or that this was just a one-time miss.
Amazing food. Patio is nice. Friendly staff. Can’t wait to go back.
The food was good and so was the music. The only thing I didn’t like was the service from the waiter. I don’t know if it was her first day but she definitely act as if it was.
So the lighting in here was cold and not warm and inviting which I had hoped. Turning tbe lights down a bit will give the place a cozy ambiance. Collards were soupy. Cornbread had zero flavor. I had the pasta- happy to see fresh made pasta but just totally overpowered w cream. My husband had rib eye which had to be sent back - the cut was so dense and not good. Overall our guests said food lacked flavor. We did order the beignets - would have been nice to have them w ice cream they were ok but not a wow dessert at all. Maybe this place is better for just a drink on the patio w jazz band? That seemed to be fun. Also we had a party of 7, split checks in 3 and gratuity was added to all checks.Your websiite notes gratuitiy on parties of 8 or more. I think it was a little presumptious that all 3 of our checks had gratutity. We did end up spnding quite a bit for a less that flavorful dinner.
Keith was our server and his service, patience, and friendliness was unmatched!
I even met a server in the ladies room and shared with her I had friends visiting from out of town and she was just as kind.
I will definitely be back! Whoever the chef was last night, keep them , especially Keith the server.
I believe that everyone from the hostess to the waiters were new and for it being my first time their I would have rathered a more seasons staff. I booked a reservation and it took them about 15 minutes to seat us. I could tell they were unorganized and a bit lost in transition. But overall the experience was nice and I would go back.
Excellent food and drinks. Love it. Friends love it too
Went on a lunch date with my husband and the service was horrible. The waitress got our order wrong and instead of offering to fix it she said she didn't hear me. She never brought out my husband drink. When she refilled our water it didn't taste like water. The food was not worth the prices. I hate to give a bad review but with so many options this was a bad experience.
Excellent food. Friendly waitstaff. No employees wore masks (concern). Food was slow to be served though we (party of 6) were only patrons (plus 2-3 more patrons).
Where do I even start… I’ve wanting to come to Acadian Coast food looked delicious. I made reservations for my birthday brunch with my 2 friends. We arrived 10-15 mins early. They were going to seat us in a booth but I asked to seat at a table. The host said is that table okay because all the other ones are reserved. We said yes. The young lady took a while to take our order. We’re just looking at each other thinking maybe we can at least water. A young man came to ask if we were okay. (I’m always a very patient person) I said no we’re celebrating my birthday and I’m not happy about the service. We’ve been waiting for our drinks can we at least get water... The bottle of champagne took forever to arrive at the table. She puts a jar of orange juice on the table and it wasn’t enough for one serving each. (I’m like okay whatever) Tell me why she places the bottle on the table not open. Maybe I’m wrong and we should have opened it ourselves. I’m looking around and the other tables have their champagne chilled in ice. I didn’t even say anything 🤦🏼♀️ I was just ready to leave. Maybe 5-10 later the young lady asks did I take y’all food order. (Omg) Remind you that brunch does not have a big section. The food did come out pretty fast. Remind you we’re at a table the young lady reaching across for us to grab our food. Then she tells me oh be careful the plate is hot I look at her and the table like I’m not going to grab a hot plate.
Not to mention the place was not packed and all the tables that were reserved were empty the whole time we were there.
The only good thing about Acadian Coast was the good music. I was hoping to go try dinner but I’m having second thoughts.
I tried this new restaurant for the first time and also to support restaurant week. I was a bit disappointed because for the menu options I ordered the Boudin balls which was supposed to be part of the promotion and after my order was placed, and our drinks were brought out to us, my boyfriends appetizer came out but I was told they ran out of Boudin balls. This could’ve been brought to my attention earlier and I could’ve adjusted accordingly. I ended up getting the gumbo instead but my boyfriend also ordered a side salad for an appetizer and that never came out during the entire dinner. It was fairly slow in the restaurant and I’m not sure if the waitress was new but several times she forgot to bring out our drinks originally and also I never got a refill on mine during our entire meal. The food was delicious. I ordered the shrimp and grits while my boyfriend had the catfish platter overall the food was good service was nice. Not sure if I would make the trick to this restaurant when there are other Creole restaurants that are closer to me it was roughly a 40 minute drive for us to make to try it this. The dessert was very good as well I had the banana foster beignets while my boyfriend had the chocolate ones.
Great service and delicious food. We went for brunch and enjoyed it from the time we arrived until we departed.
The dirty rice was saucy and had alligator sausage that was way too smoky and tuff. Ordered collard greens, they never came. The food took a long time. Beignets were not proper.
The frozen drinks were amazing.
Food was great. Live patio music
I had the shrimp and grits and it was not good. If you are a true Louisiana foodie you will not enjoy this flavor, or shall I say a lack there of. In addition the collard green where terrible! It was more of a green soup. I was shocked how flavorless the food was. The presentation was great but the actual food was sub-par. I would not recommend this restraunt.
Food was good.. hostess was awesome on phone info & in person.. VERY HELPFUL. Problem was our waitress added 20% gratuity to our tab when there were only 2 of us at the table. She split the check and added 20%to ea of our tabs. We noticed and corrected in front of her so she knew what was on the bill. Always prefer to tip cash. (Shame cos I'm always a min 22%+ cash tipper esp during these times). Watch ur bill...
Great addition to the EADO!! Great Food/Great Music!!!
We walked it and it was not very welcoming…maybe because you couldn’t hear anything due to the live music. Very nice jazz music but it was also very very loud. The restaurant was beautiful and had a very nice ambiance. We were shown to the table and was not greeted by our waitress for about 20-25 minutes. The drinks were ok…the boudin balls..crab cakes and oysters were all very delicious. Be prepared for your crab cakes and boudin balls to be very bite size..around the size of a bite sized snicker..maybe smaller. The service was horrible and I’ll just leave it at that. The entrees were all bad…we had 4 different ones and no one at the table enjoyed them..they were all sent back. Prices don’t justify anything here. We won’t be returning. Entrees were the deaux…redfish ragout..snapper and I believe jambalaya. My friend said the gumbo was good.
We were trying for the first time, and was disappointed! Though the food looked delicious, it was bland.
Thought food was very good; staff friendly. A good value
Food was amazing. Make sure you get the strawberry bread pudding for dessert. Service was great. We will definitely be back.
My appetizer, the shrimp brochette, was great. The entree, the Deaux, was delicious. I loved the bread pudding and took half of it home. I would return.
Went for Houston Restaurant Weeks and were not disappointed in the offering - menu was very good and the food and service were excellent. Restaurant has lots of charm, is quite loud and maybe still working out a few bumps, but overall a good experience.
Food was bland (shrimp and grits had no seasoning). Brunch menu too limited. Too many flies.
Great atmosphere, food and service! Would definitely recommend and will be back!
Absolutely loved our experience at Acadian Coast! We were there for the Sunday Brunch but came especially to hear the music - Dehner and Jan Franks. Both the music and dining experience made our day! We will be back!
Great Sunday Brunch. Food and Coffee was very Good and live music was awesome.
Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits.
Excellent customer service! The food was amazing and the drinks were perfectly prepared.
I’m a very picky eater and this place nailed it! No complaints at all! I definitely will be back for Sunday Brunch and Happy Hour.
Thank you Acadian Coast.
Seated far away from band but had problems hearing the conversation at my table? No need to play that loud!
We heard good things about this restaurant when it first opened last month. Not sure what happened since then.
We had four items (excluding drinks) and all but one was lacking flavor. It’s as if they under seasoned the food. The roux of the gumbo needed salt and spice, and it tasted a bit burnt. The grits in the shrimp and grits were pretty tasteless. The snapper ponchartrain was bland for what it should have been. The one item we did enjoy was the bread pudding.
We really wanted to like AC, but were unfortunately disappointed and don’t foresee ourselves going back.
One thing to note - it is loud! We and the table next to us who were both sat in the middle of the dinning room asked to be moved to the booths to try to get some reprieve. If it wasn’t the middle of summer we would have opted to sit outside which would have probably been less noisy even with it being adjacent to a busy street.
My sister was visiting from out of town and we were not disappointed with our experience. We were seated quickly upon arrival, the servers were helpful, and the food was outstanding. In particular, the oysters were delicious and I could have made an entire meal out of the collard greens. From drinks to dessert, this was the best dining out meal I’ve had in a long time and is now our new favorite place when she comes to visit. I hope this restaurant stays in the neighborhood for many years.
