We have eaten breakfast and dinner mid week and had a fantastic experience. So much so we booked a Saturday dinner with a friend who requires a legitimate gluten free diet for important health reasons. So many of their menu items were labeled “GF” we were really happy and looking forward to the meal. We had several issues. 1) the noise level was horrendous. They had music cranked up and next door Mexcalito had a stage set up out side with competing music also blaring away. It was so noisy we could nearly have a conversation. 2) half of the “GF” items were not. Some had GF ingredients but in a cross contamination environment and others just weren’t. The braised Brussels are fried before being braised for example. 3) they tried to accommodate our guest and in the end made up some baked sweet potato and a side of specially made up grilled Brussels and made us feel they had to go out of their way. Bottom line. Good for if you’re not GF and go midweek. Don’t go on a busy weekend and avoid if your diet requires GF.

Aaktun offers a truly spectacular ambiance. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a great musical atmosphere that sets the perfect tone for an enjoyable dining experience. Our waitress was particularly attentive, adding to the positive experience. We started with the spiced shrimp appetizer, which was a delightful way to begin our meal. The drinks we ordered were also notably fresh and delicious. For our main courses, we opted for the chef's specials: the salmon and the steak. Both dishes were truly amazing, showcasing the chef's talent and creativity. While the price point leans a little higher, the exceptional food and overall experience more than justify a return visit.

We just had lunch at Aaktun Restaurant. Really loved the vibe inside — the interior gives off a Tulum-style feel. Cool atmosphere with dim lighting, plants, nice decor — just a beautiful setup overall. The service was solid too. Nothing over-the-top, but everything was smooth and friendly. Now about the food — a few things to mention: 1.We ordered two OG Burgers, which were supposed to come with 2 patties. Technically, they did, but both were super thin and small. Felt more overcooked than grilled. 2.The burger was really greasy. I ended up drinking two full glasses of water after. Not sure if they cooked it in oil or what, but it was definitely dripping. On the bright side, the little round hash browns were awesome. And the star of the meal? The passion fruit ice cream — absolutely amazing. You have to try it! Also, their cortado coffee was legit — bold and full of flavor.

We'll give another try since they're fairly new but the service was a bummer from the moment we were seated. I don't think the host communicated to our server we had been seated and it took 10+ mins to be greeted on the patio. We ordered a lemonade that was forgotten. Small stuff but not customer service that makes a restaurant stand out. The food was good not great. I expected more flavor from the poke especially given Oscar's other restaurants. And the smash burger was solid but was so hot it melted all the mixed greens (which I don't like on a burger) and had a soggy bun. My husband liked the curried chicken. The appetizer rolls just tasted like warmed up Hawaiian roles sprinkled with Hawaiian pink salt, nothing special- and I don't think they're homemade. I got the frappucino and it was OK, too. Overall, nothing too memorable but it is beautiful decor inside. Will try again for a dinner experience inside.
