Please note - standard tables are located in our main dining room and covered atrium room. High top tables are in our intimate, cozy wine bar towards the front of the restaurant. You can reserve the chef's counter as well. Walk-in reservations welcome.

A16 is a Michelin rated and James Beard Award Winning restaurant bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. Executive Chef Yosuke Machida carefully selects local, organic produce and meats to prepare a daily menu specializing in wood oven-fired Neapolitan pizza, braised meatballs, vibrant salads, pasta and local meats and seafood dishes. Owner Shelley Lindgren works closely with a well-versed, hospitable service team to bring one of the SF Bay Area's celebrated wine and food destinations.

    Beet salad with persimmon (one slice) was delicious topped with a sprinkling of toasted nuts, orrachiette cooked perfectly, served with minced broccoli was sensational. Service was attentive but not intrusive, wine suggestion paired nicely with the food. A16 could easily become a favorite EXCEPT the noise level was so overwhelming I will never go back. Actually ruin ed the evening

    Fantastic from food to service. The staff was incredible! my friend, and I had gotten in a bit of an argument before we walked in and full disclosure, the staff walked around the issue so delicately, and gave us the space to figure things out, and just sliding in to deliver us pizza and wine here and there. We really appreciate it! It helped us out a lot and the pizza was amazing ❤️

    I’m spoiled (had Regina’s in Boston) but the pizza was very good (had Salsiccia). Try the aglianico wine.

    We had an excellent meal served by Jeff with an entree of wild mushroom fettuccine, followed by an tasty square of tiramisu. As always A16 was a comfortable place to enjoy an evening out.

    We went for the seasonal truffle menu. High quality, delicious food offerings, but too pricey (even for truffles!). We love this place, but will probably just order off regular menu next time. Service was wonderful!

    Great first time visit! We loved the wine list, and had the best Orrechiete. Also had a classic Marguerita pizza with prosciutto and arugula. Highly recommend A16!

    Horrible service from our waiter. I was shocked as I have enjoyed coming to A16 for many years. I will not be in any rush to return as there are so many great restaurants nearby with attentive and fun waiters (NaPizza). We had a bottle of wine and our waiter never poured a glass for us, not a single smile, and they didn’t come back to check on our meal. We actually wanted to order something else but as they didn’t return we decided to call it a night. #Nope

    All handmade pasta, great selection of Southern Italian wines, pizza and antipasta. One of best italian meals my wife and kids and I have had since traveling to Italy. Serivce was top notch.

    Good food and service. The Palari Faro wine was overpriced. It’s a $50 bottle of wine marked up to $215. Give me a break.
