Enjoy the breathtaking waterfront views, sparkling starry night skies, and refreshing breezes of our outdoor balcony, or opt for indoor air-conditioned seating to beat the heat (which can be a must in North Queensland!).

Our restaurant's name, A Touch of Salt, is a play on our family name, Brine. In 2005, we started as a family business, and our family-style approach of offering genuine hospitality and meals designed for conversation has always been the heart of A Touch of Salt. Over the years, we have perfected our restaurant to become one of the best casual fine-dining restaurants in the North.

We take pride in being appreciated by the locals of Townsville as well as travellers from all over Australia.

              I’ve dined at Touch of Salt before & food was outstanding. Last night it was not. Scollops were ok but the steak was terrible. It was swimming in this burnt sauce & was the thinnest cut of rib fillet.

              My partner and I celebrated our 12th Anniversary, Our meals were absolutely delicious, and the service was second to none. Overall the best experience we have had in Townsville. Thank you and we will be returning again soon.

              Food was tasty -compliments to the chef! Service was satisfactory. We were guests celebrating my wife’s birthday. They asked the occasion on the online booking portal. When we arrived, our waitress asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. We informed her it was my wife’s birthday. She disingenuously exclaimed “oooh you look as beautiful as ever; so no worries about that!” NB: this was our first time ever at the restaurant, and she doesn’t know my wife’s age, so how would she know?! My wife did look fabulous though! -Maybe that’s what she meant to say…? Regardless, no special effort was made to celebrate my wife’s birthday -not even a cookie with a candle in it. I’ve been to way classier and less classy restaurants who make birthday guests feel special… It’s fine if they don’t do this, but then why ask the occasion…? I pampered her anyway, so no loss.
