"A tavola" literally translates to "at the table," an expression that was meant to call everyone to gather around and enjoy a good meal, as well as each other's company. A Tavola aims to be the embodiment of this sentiment, being a place where guests can come and enjoy delicious, authentic Italian cuisine while feeling as if they are part of the family. A Tavola has plenty of full dinners for those who want a full, hearty meal. However, the specialty of the house are piattini, small plates that are meant to be passed and shared. First-time guests should each order one or two, then pass them around the table so everyone gets a taste. Popular ones include Maple Brook Farm burrata, marinated olives and duck breast prosciutto with grated foie gras.

I had been to Chef Vittorio's, Bistro 5 MANY times since he opened with just eight tables. This was my first time going to A Tavola. I loved the more casual setting and still amazing menu and choices of wines. I love getting a few "small plates" for my dinner. The special was zucchini blossom, stuffed with herb ricotta, lightly fried with fresh basil and tomatoes. Then I wanted a combination of two of the different dishes, and the chef fixed something that was absolutely perfect. The Thinly Sliced Pig Roast was really delicate and came with a cranberry sauce/compote and pickled veggies ($7 - amazing). My friend got a homemade pasta for the main, which is always outstanding! Can't wait to try craft beer nights on Tuesdays. MUST GO!

The roast suckling pig was world class. Service was prompt and professional but lacked warmth. The tables are very small with tripod bases that make finding a suitable place to put your legs and feet challenging.

It was the first time we've tried this restaurant not far from our home. It's small and intimate. It was a week night and pretty quiet which was fine with us. The food was excellent. We shared stuffed crepes for an appetize and tried a couple of pasta dishes for our entrees. Everything was tasty and the portion size was good. They serve beer and wine. We would definitely return.

We've been to A Tavola a few times and have always enjoyed it immensely. I've always had pasta, and did the same this time, but one DC had the steak, which was incredibly tasty. The rest of us had pasta--always a good choice. A nice feature is that pasta is available in half-portions, so it's possible to try two kinds at the same meal--great for those torn between options!

My wife and I went out on a much needed date night and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The service and setting were great, but were certainly trumped by the food. We shares an antipasto for two and the appetizer sized cavatelli (with shaved rabbit). For an entree, my wife had the rigatoni which was delicious but she could not keep her fork away from my Porchetta. If you are foodie, you may find this dish to be outstanding!

I like this place. Have been a few times before. Food is pretty good. Nice wine and beer selection. Little too small, but it's a neighborhoody place. I just have one gripe and it's probably from watching too many "Restaurant Impossible" episodes. Some of the staff brought out our food with their thumb on our dinner plates and the water servers grabbed our glass at the top rim, making it undrinkable. Seems like some of the staff is untrained. It's nitpicky, I know, but I couldn't get it out of my head as we ate and tried to enjoy our anniversary dinner.

I had the craft beer taste menu which was very meat heavy for my usual tastes, but was delightful and a great pairing for the beer. Wonderful robust flavors. Dessert was a bit of a disappointment with overly bitter chocolate in the s'more (which really should be enjoyed fireside). I have dined here before and dine often at Bistro 5 and found the service, while very pleasant and accomodating, a bit sluggish. We had to ask several times for water, had to ask for break, the check was super slow in coming. It was busy for a Tuesday, but it's a small restaurant so they can't really overbook.

Had a great meal sitting at the "chef's table" Saturday night. It is remarkable to see how the cooks work together in a relatively small space! Food was excellent- antipasto for 2 had a good variety and was generously portioned. Pasta was very good- hard to choose among several options. Bistecca was perfectly cooked.

My daughter and I just had a lovely dinner at A Tavola and really enjoyed ourselves. There was a wine list that I wasn't familiar with, but our server, a delightful woman, helped us select, and it was delicious. The home made bread was delicious with an infused olive oil, the chicken and salmon entrees were fantastic, the rhubarb meringue tart and salted caramel ice cream desserts and cappuccino were were a perfect end. Not a morsel was left on our plates, and we will be back soon!
