   I was here last month and often over the winter. The place is nice and close to home when weather or traffic is really bad. The restaurant is small and cute with these old looking tables. The menu is very limiting as there are only about a half dozen items on it. However, the cooks have been very accommodating swapping sides for me and my gluten and dairy free guest. Also, they have gluten free pasta! The cost can be a bit on the higher end, but not much more than most restaurants in this category. The big draw back is the limited menu and those hard seats. I think they could use some seat pads.

   Recommended highly by Frances of the Griffin Museum, A Tavola provided a small and unusual menu of delicious food and Italian wines. Halibut, glazed grilled steak, mixed green salad and EVOO cake with basil frozen yogurt for dessert. I'll go back as soon as possible!

   This was our second time visiting Tavola, the appetizers were delicious, the fish special was a bit overcooked but well seasoned. Pasta dish was also quite tasty but not spectacular. For $150 for two, somehow the whole experience left us feeling a little underwhelmed. Limited menu choices.

   I have been to A Tavola on many occasions, and each time am so pleased with the overall dining experience. The menu is filled with delicious pastas, and meat and fish entrees filled with flavor and expertly prepared by the chef and his team. Ingredients are farm fresh and bursting with goodness. Always a memorable meal.

   We were celebrating a birthday and they were very nice to us. They brought us sparkling wine and dessert with a candle. Food was delicious and service was great. It was a perfect evening. We'll be back. Thank you, A Tavola!

   We had a Dine Out Boston menu. Liked the idea of picking 3 courses off the menu versus limited choices. The "Pig Roast Entree" was excellent. Mangale Pasta not so much. Walnuts and Goat Cheese ingredients in a heavy pesto pasta basically missing. First course, grilled octupus and mixed green salad very good. Dessert very good. Overall a good value. Excellent service and nice table.

   We ordered mostly specials. The charred octopus special stood out because the charred outside was so deep and flavorful, yet the inside remained moist.

    walked into this restaurant at 5:30 PM with a reservation and there was no hostess to seat us for a bout 5 to 7 minutes. The tables are plain hardwood about 2' x 3' wide. The chairs are totally wood, and particularly hard and uncomfortable. On the blackboard the specials of the day were listed, and we could not see to read them from our table, even though we have 20/20 vision. There was one waitress on staff who seemed experienced and the second who seem incompetent. With that said after 20 minutes and no one taking our order, we decided to walk out before being further tortured. To us it seems they have a very limited menu, which is overpriced, especially considering the hard chairs and mini tables, and lack of atmosphere. We do live in Winchester so it would be nice to have another neighborhood restaurant that we enjoy. I am afraid it is not this one! Maybe the food is great but I don't think we will ever know.
