The crab bisque and sweet potato fries were stand out. The swordfish, however, was overcooked and dry and might have been a few days past its prime. Stay simple and local for acceptable meals at this price.

We had excellent service from the wait staff, Holly. She was very helpful explaining the menu and answering our questions. The food was just okay. The fried brussels sprouts were so over cooked they were unrecognizable. They were not worth the extra charge for them. The red skin mashed potatos were just okay. The scallops were expensive and not really worth the cost. The atmosphere was friendly and quiet. Overall an expensive meal for a so so food. We have eaten here several times in the past and have had much better experiences. Hopefully next time will be better.

We made our reservation a little more than 3 weeks in advance for a dining room table. We were seated in the bar area anyway, because they had no tables available in the dining room. Our waitress was busy with a table of 10. After 30 minutes the waitress had not taken our order and we left to find dinner elsewhere. The island has few dining options, and the poor service at AJ's shows they know there is a captive audience.

We happen to have the pleasure of eating three different meals during our stay. The breakfast service just started this week and I love their eggs benedict!!! We had lunch and I tried their blue cheese burger for the first time and it was so juicy and flavorful!!! Our dinner was just as memorable with the perfectly cooked filet and my husband had the fish special!!! Our server Holly had us for two of the meals and despite being new, she was knowledgeable and attentive and personable all qualities needed. Ajs is a must do for our visits.

Appetizers, oyster Rockefeller and coconut shrimp were exceptional but entree not so great. Ordered the Chicken Marsala. Chicken was cooked perfectly but the pasta and marsala was very bland. In fact there was no sauce at all. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Would really like to see a broadened fish menu like maybe some halibut dishes. Had one there last year that was a special and it was incredible.

Food was delicious. But the up charge for the premium sides should have been noted by the server. The normal sides were not appealing and the brussel spouts were definitely not worth the additional $4 up charge (they were burnt). The gnocchi also an up charge but definitely worth it — fresh and delicious. The busboys were a little loud and it was crazy that they were throw the water off the porch but it had a screen.

AJ’s is the best restaurant on the island. The menu is diverse, and everything is delicious. The wait staff are all amazing — very attentive and personable.

AJs on the creek is one of our must go to restaurants when coming to Chincoteague and no matter if breakfast or lunch or dinner, memorable meals are made. We happened to have brunch on Mother”s day and our server Holly was very attentive and top notch!

I should have trusted my instincts and gone to Bill’s on Main st instead. It was Mother’s Day and the service was non existent, even though there were hardly any customers. The food and coffee were cold and the prices were way too high for the experience (or lack of). I definitely won’t ever do brunch there again. The prices are way high for this place and no service and mediocre food.
