We have been to Acote many times. We were super disappointed that the cheese plate had been eliminated from the menu. The other food was all quite good, but we had all been looking forward to the cheese plate as Acote had previously had the best cheese plate around. The server was kind of unenthusiastic (maybe an off day.) All and all the ambiance out back (outside) was great and the tables outside in the front looked like good ambiance as well. Bring back the cheese plate!!
Like most businesses, they're having a hard time adapting to Covid-19. The wait staff was great, especially Brian. The food is decent and overall enjoyable.
Back patio is delightful - and food was excellent.
The warm evening that I outdoor-dined in their parklet, coupled with the French-leaning menu, swept me away to Paris. Dining on the perfectly balanced broth of the mussels and moist and tender meatballs was a delight! Even with the masking protocols (ie; you must don your mask when the server comes to your table) was handled with an easy and relaxed nature from the staff, that I didn't feel 'put out' or made to feel like I was an imposition. You felt welcomed and that your patronage matters to them.
Outdoor dining was as pleasant as sidewalk dining could be. Food and service was exceptional!
Every single dish we ordered on this menu was nothing short of exquisite. Service was attentive and not intrusive. Servers were in good spirits as were we. The wine list was also wonderful. It's a fabulous place for a special meal!
It was a unique experience to eat in an almost dark room. We couldn't tell what we were eating, except by taste. The light level is much too dark. The food was very good, and the service was fine. The wine list was unusual; none of the wines and none of the grapes were familiar.
Another wonderful experience at À Côté! The actual menu offered fewer choices than the website indicated, but everything we had was delicious. We enjoyed being encouraged to share our dishes. The waitperson Maria was cheerful, had a ready smile, and gave good advice, especially on the wine. The assistant backing her up was less accomplished, hence a dip from 5 to 4 stars under "service." The Happy Hour Special of mussels, fries, and a glass of wine was a big hit. The room was not crowded, so the noise level was just right. We'll keep celebrating here. (Note from a previous visit: the crocque monsieur is way too plain. Just grilled ham and cheese. Not up to your level, folks.)
Food is generally very good but some is very overpriced like small flatbreads (pizzas) for over $25 or small bowl of soup for $12. Server was wonderful and ambiance is lovely.
Acote is just a bit too pretentious. Typical of a restaurant like this, they try too hard to make it chic. Food quality is great but they should stick just a little bit more to fundamental dishes.
I have been here multiple times and am only able to find 10% of the menu worth ordering.
I keep coming back because of the ambience, the convenience and the drinks. But this place is usually my 4th or 5th on the list of restaurants I select.
Delicious food, accommodated food intolerances wonderfully, friendly and timely service. I love this place. I came 2x in 1 week and will be back more frequently.
It was great,
Fun wine list focused on the Balkan region and Greece, etc. Great oysters and mains.
Our out of town friends were impressed with the food and ambience, but the service was slow.
Service was very poor.
One of our consistent go-to spots for 15 years. Terrific mussels.
Sadly they ran out of their special right before I ordered.
Loved the ambiance. Service was great and the drinks and food done well. We had a great time and will be back.
NIce experience at A Cote. The waiter was excellent, as was the Armenian wine. The Mardi Gra specials were pretty good, but didn't meet my expectations.
We had a pasta dish that truly lacked seasoning. The fried chicken was just the opposite; too much spice. Oysters, pommes frites, and dessert were fabulous.
Great meal, great service and fine value. We had 3 people, split a salad, an appetizer special, 2 entrees and a dessert. All of the food was top notch! and our waiter was very helpful.
We were here for our sons birthday. Everything was wonderful from cocktails to dessert ! We had the mussels, seared Opah (amazing !), papperdele with wild mushrooms, chicory salad, artichoke flatbread - everything delicious and we would order them all again. Banana bread pudding and mousse au chocolat for dessert - perfect!
We loved the Apple Hazelnut Salad and the Pork Chops but the Seared Opah was a little plain. The ambiance is nice and cozy, and they do a great job converting the outdoor patio space into indoor space, but we still felt draft coming through the seams of curtains.
I always appreciate the food here and the servers. They know exactly what is included in each meal and all about their amazing wines.
We celebrated Valentines Day! The food was wonderful. We love A Côté
We go there for the amazing food. We only wish the service would be better. It feels like we are bothering the waitstaff for service and the constant eye rolling gets old. And let me be clear it not the entire waitstaff just a few that have, let’s call them regulars. So if you’re a fixture there you’ll get good service. But, if your not just enjoy the few hours you’ll be there while you get served.
The food was mostly tasteless. My date had chicken that was almost inedible because it was so dry.
The service was actually horrible, boarding on hostile. We had to beg for bread or drink refills. The pour on the first glass of wine was tiny (2 oz). We complained and the server added about a tablespoon more of wine.
We complained to the manager and he took one entree off the bill, but seemed to not care at all about the service.
Thank you very much for a wonderful night and great food!
The fish at the table next to me was undercooked and we watched the story unfold... it wasn't our plate but made us wary. My steak was ordered as medium rare... and it arrived extremely rare - I didn't mind and I didn't send it back but it was not cooked as ordered. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the very eclectic wine list and provided me with the perfect accompaniment to my steak. Salad was great. The main dish was great. Dessert mousse was great as was my americano. We were sat at a table on a temperature challenged outdoor patio despite having reservations. Again, the server made it all just fine and I would have much preferred to be on a dinner date with her than the person I was with. Haha!
A bestie and I celebrated our birthdays here and loved every minute of it. The steak was scrumptious, the French fries were to die for, the hazelnut salad was tasty, the pear and pancetta flatbread was out of this galaxy, and the cup a cote was absolutely delectable. On top of it all, the service went above and beyond. I’m giving five stars overall and four to the food, service and ambiance each as they were all excellent. But the experience in all was more than the sum of its parts. Thanks for a lovely evening A Cote!
Outstanding waiter, Damion, offered excellent advice re meal and wine. Food was excellent
It’s a bit loud in the front room for conversation. The bartender and waiter were terrific,
I had been to A Coté in 2016, when I hosted a very successful group dinner. Returned now, 2020, with my wife for a date night. We were seated in the back room, which is far less atmospheric than the front room -- no music, "tent-like" decor, and under-heated, yet low noise. The menu was such that, somehow, there was nothing attractive among the entrees -- there were two pizzas (aka flatbread), pork, steak, fish, and pasta, and none of those tickled our fancy. We landed up getting a bottle of Spanish red wine (prominent cherry flavor) and yummy house olives, by which we whiled our wait for moules and pomme fritte (both excellent). Then came a terrine which one of us liked very much, while the other thought 'meh.' For desserts we had tea/espresso and banana-bread / cheeses. After tax but before tip, this all came to about $162, which -- what with no entrees -- feels over-priced. The next day we both agreed that the best bites of the entire evening was dipping the baguette into the moules' pronounced spicy sauce. We will try coming back, making sure to reserve the front dining room, but only if, in advance, we see online some entree to salivate over.
We had not been to A Cote in over a year. The $2.00 oysters on Wednesday brought us back for an outstanding meal. The oysters, mussels, wine, and cocktails were all quite good. In the past the mussels were in the oven so long they were dry and the shells disintegrated when I tried to pry them open. This visit the mussels were perfect. A lovely restaurant for any occasion.
Outstanding, as usual. We ordered a selection of things from both sides of the menu and shared everything. Fries are always a big hit. The fish and white beans were excellent (those beans were magic!). Star Wars themed cocktails were fun and delicious. Made a special night perfect!
Our first time . It was my husband’s birthday. Everything was amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
First time diners. Had always wanted to dine here but you know the saying, ‘too many restaurants, too little time’.
Our reservations were at 5:30 on a Friday night & the place filled up quickly. It was obvious that this is a neighborhood gem as the host recognized many of the folks with gracious greetings & cheery conversation.
I had their famous mussels & pomme frites, began with the little gem salad & ended with the warm banana bread pudding. Needless to say, I was in heaven! My dining partner started with the cauliflower soup & her entree was the pork tenderloins. Both delicious as well, I know because I snuck in a taste or two!
Finally, I want to make mention about how exquisite the service is. Very efficient, not obtrusive-just terrific teamwork that accentuated a wonderful meal.
Paola took great care of us & will certainly see if I can request her at our next visit.
Thank you A Côté’ for a memorable evening & for taking our minds off of this crazy world we now live in, even for a few hours!
Food was fantastic! Great vibe to the place... hadn't been there in awhile but will go back again soon!
We frequent this restaurant, but it’s always special to celebrate my birthday there as well!
