   My wife and I sat at the bar for our date night. The cocktails were amazing, as were our mains. We enjoyed the creative cocktails that the staff had developed.

   A sign was outside upon entering the restaurant yet none of those items were available. It was a foldable sign so it was just placed outside - not a great start. Server seemed new and unsure of her answers. Rueben was supposed to come with 1000 island but none was on it. When we asked for it, it was brought out but only to be charged for it. Burgers and chicken sandwiches were ordered along with grilled tenderloin. Burger and chicken sandwich came with bkfs potatoes vs fries though listed with fries- comedy of errors that detracted from meal.

   I am a local and spend a fair amount of time on the square, but have only been to 940's a few times. I had a friend from out of town come visit on business and he's a big fan of wine and craft cocktails so I figured this was right up his alley and your restaurant did not disappoint! The wine and cocktail selections were creative and diverse. The food menu was mouth watering. I had the tenderloin grilled cheese with the friend egg and I can safely say that it may have been the best grilled cheese I have ever had in my entire life. The side of shaved brussel sprouts rounded off the meal quite nicely. All in all a great evening!

   We wanted to like this place more than we did. We were first introduced to 940 during a Discover Denton tour. We decided to come here before a show and made a reservation ahead of time. The food was tasty and the cocktails were tasty, but the service was not good at all. We were seated in a booth away from the bar and main seating area, so maybe that's why it seemed like we were forgotten more than once. Our appetizer came out in an acceptable amount of time, but we waited over 30 minutes for our entrees. And my husband had to flag our server down to ask for the check. Maybe he was having a bad day? The food was delicious and that saved the 70 minute dining experience, but if you go here...try to avoid being seated at the dark booths in the back. Also, if you are a beer drinker, you will spend $8 on a 12 ounce can!

   The food was delicious and the servers very attentive from the moment you walk in. Its dimly lit and the ambiance is ideal for date night. I had the 940 burger and my date had mushroom ravioli both were excellent. I considered the menu to be fairly priced with a rather large drink selection as well, will definitely recommend and come back !

   Server was great, but restaurant slow and understaffed. Chicken was overcooked and dry, and Monkey Bread hard as a rock. Bathroom door was broken. Atmosphere and location very good, so has potential.
