   We went for dinner on a Saturday night. It was very, very loud. We didn’t even drink half of our cocktails before the salads came out. Barely got those done, table cleared and the entrees came. Filet was purple and cold in the middle and had to be sent back. Everything from start to finish is way too rushed. We were out of there in under an hour when what we wanted was to relax and enjoy some time. We won’t go there for dinner again, but maybe to meet clients for lunch.

   This restaurant was one we stumbled upon while traveling in St. Louis. Needing to find something on a time constraint due to my son’s ice hockey tournament game schedule (hence the reason for our travel) and also one that met our expectations for high quality ingredients to our liking with good atmosphere and ambiance - including a full bar - this one appeared to be just what we wanted. Boy was this place beyond any expectations we set ourselves up for- from our greeting as we walked through the door, to our very pleasant and knowledgeable server, Kaitlyn, to the general manager, who checked in on us after learning that we were visiting the area from Philadelphia. And the chef - better than the best - everything was made fresh with the finest ingredients and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend 801 local - exceptional service all around .

   I ordered the boneless prime rib the 14 oz and it came out with a bone and it was the only reason I ordered it . The prime rib was not that great it was tough and laked flavor.

   Nice place. They know what they are doing, and the atmosphere is very nice, comfortable, and relaxing. The only thing that was a bit odd, is that some of the male servers were wearing bright white tennis shoes, which I thought was a bit odd. Not a big deal - classy place.

   We chose what to order during our second meal at 801 Local before we left our first. That’s how good it is. Upon arrival, we were thrilled with the high-end, handsome interior design and welcoming atmosphere that reverberates throughout. The host staff were attentive and kind, and showed us directly to our table. Taylor was phenomenal through the duration of our meal, providing excellent suggestions for menu items and daily specials. We never had an empty water glass. Which, in itself, says a lot. As plate after plate came to our table, the exceptional quality of the food and experience grew better and better. Recommending the rolls, crab dip, burger and shrimp & grits. We will be back, very soon.

   Read about this place online and planned a luncheon. Nice atmosphere, really good food and attentive wait staff and manager also stopped by to greet us! I'd go back.

    Good food fun place unfortunately not many gluten free options though waiter worked to get me a meal. I always go home hungry though. A lot of better restaurants have an awesome gf menu. For example red potatoes were available with one dish. They would have been gf but could not allow me to have them without the dish they came with that contained gluten. I’m gf due to celiac not choice. Ditto for sweet potato. The food served is very garlicky too.

    It was just too loud in the dining room. Need more sound dampening or something. My mom is 84 and couldn’t hear our conversation with her hearing aids in.

    We went to celebrate a birthday. It was our first time there but have frequented the other 801 restaurants several times so was expecting the same kind of quality. Unfortunately our service was below subpar. Our waiter hardly frequented our table, which led us to have to ask multiple times for things, wait long periods for drinks and check, etc. The food was good but not the best. We spent just under $300 and left disappointed. We will not be back.

    Almost everything’s was great. My wife & I were the last to the table so drinks had been ordered. Waiter brings the drinks & does not ask either of us what we might like even though we knew which bottle of wine we wanted. Five minutes later, we have to wave him down to place our drink order. Then the knucklehead forgets about the wine - really dissatisfying considering the bottle was $150.

    Great place and location, waiter was not the friendliest or the best. Food, 2 of 3 dinners were great, under cooked salmon returned, unsatisfied with the long wait.

    Two girlfriends out to lunch on a Tuesday....Valentine's day to be specific. This was the first visit to 801 Local for both of us. Happy to have 801 Local participate in Open Table. I always prefer an establishment that takes reservations. Our table was ready when we arrived, although the place was, surprisingly, not very busy for lunch. The décor was nicer than I expected...lots of wood and understated. Classy. We were seated in a booth and served by Cy. (sp?) My friend had the Caesar salad with an added salmon cake. I had the salmon salad. Both were delicious and fresh. Highly recco the salmon cakes. My salad, splitting a bottle of wine, plus one more glass of wine, plus tip was $58. A bit steep for lunch, but it was fun to enjoy a new place, a good meal, and the company of a good friend. Would I return? Yes. As there were other intriguing options on the menu that I'd like to try.

    I would have given a 5 star review however the server forgot to put our leftover pasta in the bag with our leftover steak. Other than that his service was good and the entire team was very hospitable.

    Excellent food, a little loud for conversation. Our waiter was not writing down our Oder and made mistakes. I am Celiac and asked for no croutons, but my salad had croutons. I asked for lemon in my drink and received a lime. Overall excellent.

    This was our second time at 801 Local so we knew what we’d liked from our first visit. We ordered the Parker House rolls with truffle honey butter (highly recommend!) to enjoy while waiting in our entrees. My husband ordered the lobster bisque which had multiple chunks of lobster. He said it was very good and would definitely order it again. They also offer a French onion soup which I’m definitely going to try next time. We both ordered the house special Prime Rib which was wonderful. As far as drinks go, my husband went with the 801 Manhattan served up with Luxardo cherries. My choice was the Troon—an amazing grapefruit concoction—so good! This visit we were seated in the bar area which was very loud so we weren’t really able to talk over dinner.

    I would come more often, but it is way too noisy. Please do something about the acoustics. I don't like to yell to have a conversation. It is bewildering to me how this can be overlooked when sitting down and having a conversation with a nice meal requires yelling. I would recommend reluctantly due to the noise levels.

    801 Local was fabulous! Our party of 5 were there to celebrate a 70th birthday. We were very impressed to find the “Happy Birthday” menus had been placed at our table. Our waiter was excellent & very attentive! The food was prepared perfectly, as well! Loved the desserts & so nice to see “Happy Birthday” written in chocolate on the plate. Highly recommend this restaurant & will definitely return.
