We thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance at 707. We were there for the triathlon this weekend and made a reservation with open table. It was easy to get in, our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. We came out there full, happy and had a new favorite wine! Thanks 707!
Steak was not cooked as requested, way undercooked. Potato was not cooked. Was our anniversary an we noted on our reservation. Not mentioned when we checked in. Just kinda seemed like they did not have their act together.
We have gone here many times in the past, and have always loved our meals. But, since they changed management, the service has disimproved and for sure the chef quality has gone down. There was no soup available. The Caesar salad was available, but "we don't have Caesar dressing, what else would you like!" Only one of our steaks was cooked as requested, the others were all served over cooked. Our one salmon dish was very dry. They changed their family style sides to smaller individual sides, eliminating a couple of the ones we loved and were so unique. The server was a very nice girl but had zero training to be in a nice Chop House and was offered no help, even though she had our table of 6 along with another large table of 8 beside us, she could not keep up. Disapointingly we found out that the owner was sitting in the lounge, such a pity help wasn't given or that we were not checked on. We will go back and try it one more time, hopefully it was just a bad night.
This restaurant provides a quaint atmosphere, great food, excellent service at a fair price. Nice wine selection as well.
Every time we’ve been there it’s been great.
The new name was a surprise.
This place is aweful. Service is terrible, steaks were not cooked right, 3 of the 7 meals didn’t come out when it was time to serve. And we gave up on asking about our missing side items. Our table leg was broken and wobbling about 4 inches up and down. There solution was to put a handful of napkins under the leg to stop the wobble. For a higher end restaurant, this place does not deliver.
Name of the restaurant had changed with no updates on google, opentable, or yelp. Service was terrible and many of the menu items were not available. Pricepoint for this restaurant was higher than the product provided. Expectations was closer to a Perry’s or Killens. Outcome was a mom and pop steakhouse overcharging for everything. Best part of our time was the valet!!
The steak was excellent, the truffle Mac was amazing, twice baked potato was phenomenal. Yes we double starched, but it was our anniversary. So we decided to live dangerous. Service was over the top, never had an empty drink. Live music that night, what more could you ask for.
The service was very good and the food was exceptional. All of the 5 guests had different steaks at different temperature levels and they all turned out prefect.
The food is outstanding. The staff greeted us with smiling faces and remembered us on just our second visit to the restaurant. Kemah Steak House has become our favorite date restaurant in the area. We strongly recommend the crab cakes as an appetizer or meal.
Food was great. Nice place and the service has greatly improved. We will go back
Several menu items not available. Overpriced experience.
Took my girlfriend for her birthday. Everything was perfect. The new owners are very friendly; the service was outstanding. This is a great place for a romantic dinner. The backyard patio is very big and comfortable. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for!
I gave service a three but the server was the bartender for us. So she had extra duties. Drinks were fabulous and the tomahawk perfect. Will go again
I have eaten here quite a few times and this last experience was not good. The food was not the quality it once was. I had to send my steak back, I ordered medium rare and it came out medium well. The truffle mac and cheese had zero truffle flavor. I love the ambiance of the place but this will unfortunately be our last visit
Food was amazing, service was great! Definitely will make this a regular stop from now on!
Without doubt, the worst restaurant experience I have ever experienced. There was no tonic water to make a gin and tonic, my regular drink befere a meal. Additionally, the bar had no idea how to make a martini. They tried to serve us a glass of ice water. I would have preferred to make a reservation at a Big Mac restaurant than take a chance of eating here.
We ended up celebrating a 33rd celebration at another restaurant.
Really some of the worst service I’ve experienced anywhere. I️ had to get up and go to the bar to request steak knives for our $$$ steaks. Completely forgot our drink orders...then when they were delivered in very small glasses they stayed empty for most of the meal. I️t was pretty empty so I️t was quiet. The place has a nice ambiance and the food is good but they really need to step up their game on the service... especially for the price.
We had a table reservation for Fathers Day. We stopped and had a drink at the bar. The server was friendly and made us feel so comfortable we stayed and had dinner at the bar. The service was great and food delicious.
We arrive late on Sunday, and Tammy stayed late and took car e of our group. Our favorite restaurants are Steakhouses and I would put Kemah Steak up against any of them. The steaks and sides were prepared perfectly, and the "Magic Butter" was one of the best things I've ever tasted on a steak.
The signature dessert Bananas Foster, was fantastic.
If you're in Kemah, or anywhere near there, you owe it to yourself to try Kemah Steakhouse. Fantastic.
Their food is high quality and perfectly cooked. The top filet is so good and the crab cakes are mostly chunks of crab instead of filling. This place is one of my favorites.
I saw them turn away walk ins even thought they had the room because they wanted to make sure they would give great service.
My only complaint, the waitress did not check back to see if I needed another Dr Pepper. I can live with that.
The Tuna was out of this world. The steaks was as good as the other fine dining steak houses but for a better price. The side dishes were very tasty and enough to share.
Service and food was good. My steak was slightly overcooked (ordered medium rare and it was more like a medium) but it was still good. Crab cake appetizer was great. The bread was amazing. Friendly staff. Definitely will go back.
Waitor was very attentive and friendly.. The Chef cooked out steaks to perfection.. He even came out twice and talked with us a while.. Great Service. I'll be back!
Excellent Steak and Lamb chops, homemade loaf of bread was fantastic. First time but not our last.
Steak small and tasteless.
No bread plates due to a party of 12 and cooks are also the dishwashers according to our server.
Rushed! In and out in one hour.
Not what we expected.
Extremely overpriced for what we received.
Bread served on a plastic plate.
Server held fingers over cup rather than serving coffee by the handle.
Dress code not adhered to....
Great atmosphere. We sat outside. Lovely patio. Good food & wine.
The service was really good. The waiter was so friendly. The chef was awesome and came out and checked on everything. Great food!!!
Great food and wait staff but not enough of them. A large party was upstairs and management did not see fit to staff up enough wait staff to accommodate both the party and down stairs dining making for large wait times for wine replenishment, plates, appetizers, etc. I blame the management, not the employees as they were running at times to take care of the patrons. This was a Saturday evening too.
The food was fantastic! Get the blue cheese butter with your steak, it’s amazing!! Sides are all sized to share with 2-4 people so sample a few sides and everyone will have plenty! They have half priced bottles of wine with dinner on Wednesday’s! The best part is it’s close to home.
Kemah Steakhouse isn't on the boardwalk buts its nearby and it's definitely a place that we'll go back to again and again. Unlike the restaurants /kitchens along the Boardwalk, the chef and other staff are all about winning people back by offering a comfortable venue, personalized service and knock-your-socks-off food. We met for a management dinner midweek. ( Another executive chef suggested it. ) There were a few couples and another table of 3 nearby. The menu isn't extensive but there's something for everyone, I'd say. Why offer 100 decent options when you can offer 30 fabulous ones, right? A couple of us had the filet mignon, reasonably priced at $39 and perfectly seasoned/cooked. The sides were all big enough to share and the wine and cocktails were crisp and well made. I don't work for this place and it was my first trip but I'll be back for dinner with my girlfriends, date night with my husband and business meetings with my customers. I thank my friend from Centercourt Pizza for suggesting it and thank the chef, AJ, for serving us such great meals.
We had a very nice time here and will be coming back! Great food.
Brought the wrong food two times, waitress wasn't sure what's on the menu, had to clean my table, flat coke w/ Crown, brought hot water out to drink instead of ice water. The food was good, but the service was really bad. For a very special night for the wife and I we will definitely not go back.
Appreciate the help with our reservation provided by Exec Chef Anthony.
Our dinner with friends was good. Food was good overall. Mac & cheese side dish was exceptional. Service was ok. Many questions could not be answered with the server going to check elsewhere.
Service was terrible, we were the only people there and still had to ask waiter 4 times to get butter for the bread. Steaks were tough. Not one order, of 4 people, was right.
They had a very limited menu for valentines. There were three things l wished to try, bacon wrapped quail, baby blue wedge salad and lollipop lamb chops with asparagus. None were on the menu and you couldn’t order from the regular menu. I found that disappointing.
It felt like that Air Condition system was off and the sole from kitchen was lingering through the whole restaurant.
Valentine’s Day they had a special smaller menu. First off. It was a warm day and they were busy so with no air on it it was 80+ degrees. They advertise as a premium steakhouse, they do serve Allen bros steaks from Chicago where were from so I felt the value will be there. My wife had a filet that was absent of any flavor at all. I ordered a bone in 14oz ribeye medium or hot pink. A ribeye with good fat content is the most flavorful of cuts. However when you cut it 1/4” thin then grill it it’s impossible to get it hot pink. There was no fat so no flavor and was barely able to be cut. The 2 waiters I mentioned this to both said there were complaints so I asked for the manager. He came out belligerent and refusing to acknowledge that it was well done even saying “what do you want for 14oz” and it was $49. Then he just walked away. I refused to pay for it. Tipped the waiter fully. I entertain clients often and this place is close but I’d never take anyone there again and I will not let my sales staff take clients ever. Not even a 1 star
Overall I had a pleasant experience and will likely return but it won’t leave you anxtiously awaiting your next visit. The main course (filet prepared medium) was absolutely the best tasting in memory and very well prepared. Delicious. The sides are served family style and frankly nothing special; seemed like something you’d make at home with the same outcome. I just expect a bit more flavor profile than that in a nice steak restaurant. Service was not the best but it was Valentines Day so recognize that it was hectic at times. Though our server was pleasant and was clearly working hard. You could tell because he was sweating a lot. Was seated upstairs. Not as nice an ambience as downstairs but then again, the downstairs was noticeably warmer and a bit smokey for me, the better option. Really appreciated the fact that it’s not crammed in with all the other restaurants and the fact that this place is a house. Though, the owners could probably invest in the interior finishings a bit to elevate the atmosphere/dining experience and this place would be hard to beat on many levels.
