A mix of good and less good aspects. We arrived ten minutes before our allotted time and had to wait awkwardly in the entrance corridor as the previous table occupants were still there. Not the kind of welcome you want at a £100+ per head restaurant.
The service was otherwise fine (and we had a lovely quiet table at the front of the restaurant) but nothing exceptional and part of the dining experience at this level is about how you are made to feel. I can't put my finger on it but maybe for us, it was just a bit casual.
We enjoyed the food-some of our party more than others but i was happy with my quail starter, beef main course and millefeuille dessert. Classic French cookery with rich sauces and bold flavours. This confirmed my view formed on a previous lunchtime visit that the cooking is at a high level. Some of the best we have had recently in London.
My other concern was that I choose not to eat pork or ham and that knocked out quite a few of the dishes including the monkfish. So the number of dishes available was fewer than I would have liked.
