Sixty-One Prime at Hawks Cay
We are local and frequent this restaurant often. Food and service are always excellent.
Started off quaint and quiet, which changed very quickly
Every person that came made it even louder in there, you could not even talk across the table, terribly disappointed in that, high end dinner in a loud bar atmosphere
We ate there on 3.2.20 and Dianesha was our server. From start to finish she gave absolutely amazing service. She went above and beyond the typically service and even gave us a free dessert for our "Mini-honeymoon" celebration. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can get away from the busy Miami life.
Belated birthday and romantic get away
For the price of the items on the menu, the food was just mediocre.
Had a great time at Sixty-One Prime! Loved the atmosphere and the service was excellent. The food was delicious - a bit pricey but overall a really good restaurant and would definitely go back.
The service was great. Everyone that works at the resort is incredibly friendly and helpful. We went to 61 Prime twice on our most recent trip to Hawks Cay. The first time we had such a great experience that we all wanted to go again. Both times we went we sat outside. The second time we went they had music, and a limbo contest by the pool. This was fun for my kids because one of them wanted to be a part of the contest but it ruined the atmosphere of the restaurant. I would suggest looking at the calendar of events at the pool before making a reservation and plan to enjoy the pool entertainment, sit inside or pick another night to go there. The food was great. We all loved the baked Alaska. Again, the service was top notch!
Everything was top notch! Our favorite meal on our vacation
The food was good a little pricey but a good variety. It is nice for a change from the normal keys/tropical tourist menu. I had venison chops and they were good and came with bread pudding. I would have preferred an interesting potato or risotto. We will go back.
Too pricey for the quality of food. As a local, I don't recommend going there. I had reservations for 8:30 and the waitress was rushing us to finish and get out. Very dissapointing considering paying $60 for an 8oz steak that was overcooked.
Everything about it was terrific: food, service, selection.....particularly impressed with service. Our waitstaff Omar did a great job and manager Pat kept things moving smoothly and made us feel personally welcomed stopping by tables and checking on things.
This being Valentines Day and most people had reservations - not sure why they were short on staff!! Our server was wonderful, but just so hurried trying to please all. My husband’s steak was fabulous. My fish was somewhat dry for being the “special and fresh caught”!! Overall experience was ok, however, they are very expensive.
Decent, but a bit overpriced. Coming from NY, perhaps I’m a bit jaded.
Great service with excellent wait staff and attentive details to my food sensitivities
Wonderful staff with delicious food and took care of my food allergies
Best restaurant in the keys, good food,
My tona dish was very tasty.
The service was excellent .
The ambiance was good
Everything was outstanding 😊
Get the onion soup!!
Denisia was awesome and was the food! Our kids loved it too.
Bla nd and overpriced
We made reservations for New Years Eve Dinner unknown to us through Open table, and the hosts, it was a prefixed dinner with a price of $115 each. It would have been nice if something mentioned this factor. We were not the only ones surprised by the meal either several families walked out not willing to pay $115 for a kids dinner. It was not even mentioned on their website. We’ll not be going back anytime soon. Also to mention we are a local family not on vacation willing to spend $300 on dinner.
There are not many options at Hawks Cay if you don’t have a car. So this one of the three restaurants at the resort. I have mixed feelings about the experiences after eating there three times. Even though they want to be a steak house their best dish is the Caribbean Pepperpot mixed seafood. Delicious! The $60 steak was just okay to me but I’m not a big steak fan because I cook a fantastic steak as a lot of people do. Service was very good and the manager is on target overseeing everything well.
The food was really great and the service was excellent.
Service was poor and food was not equal to the price. Asked for steak to be cooked at a certain temperature and it was not.
My best friend and I were really looking forward to a high level, good restaurant and this was terrible. The lobster bisque taste like it came out of a box with absolutely no lobster in it. The lobster tail I had was so dry and tasted very old and the risotto taste like glue. I was truly disappointed because all I wanted for dinner on Christmas Eve was a lobster tail at an up scale restaurant. This was definitely not it and I would never recommend this restaurant nor will I ever go back. However, the hotel was fantastic and beautiful.
The prices were that of a Ruth Chris food was that of an outback .
We used open table twice to book reservations to Sixty one prime and both times upon arrival the restaurant was closed . The second time hawks cay staff verified the restaurant would be open but guess not
This was our Thanksgiving dinner, capping off a five-night stay in the Keys, and we were sorely disappointed. As we were perusing the menu, the table next to us had the Thanksgiving special and sent them all back because they were cold. We should have taken that as our cue, walked out and ordered a pizza.
Our server, while pleasant, knew nothing about the menu. Couldn't explain sous vide, or what cut of meat the Delmonico was, or what was on the cheese plate. Didn't know anything about the wines.
The quality received for the price was outstandingly BAD. The sous vide buffalo, which was recommended to be cooked medium, was dry and lacking in flavor. Should have gone with our instincts and ordered it medium-rare. The parsnip puree that accompanied it was good, although it tasted like it had added sugar, and the nearly-raw hunks of carrot and cauliflower that came with it were uninspired to say the least. The filet was not bad, but the Yukon potatoes that came with it were flavorless. It was supposed to come with charred shishito peppers; instead they were just stacked raw on a toothpick stuck into the steak. It was supposed to come with "fennel leek fondue," and there was nothing resembling that on the plate. The cheese plate was uninspired -- a large hunk of very basic yellow cheddar (Cracker Barrel has better), a few slivers of brie, a couple of slices of aged goat cheese and a few pieces of sage derby cheese, with some seedless grapes and stale seeded flatbreads. The rolls were basically brown-and-serve rolls in a cast iron pan instead of aluminum foil. And the key lime tart had a soggy crust!
Very special anniversary dinner! The pork belly appetizer was great and our favorite dish was the Shrimp Cassoulet! Fantastic!
The service was slow and the food was extremely expensive and mediocre.
Great place to eat, from the wait staff to the drinks to the meal, all was wonderful. Don’t usually get that from a restuarant in a hotel.
Due to this being a fine dining restaurant, I believed when I stated in the open table (special occasion) box, and asking them to do anything special for my parents anniversary, and they refused. They gave my parents a nonchalant “happy anniversary”. I even called and asked if they would do something special, like most fine dining establishments.
Not worth the price by a mile
If you’re expecting anything above and beyond, I would move on.
Awesome food. Great service
Good. Solid food. Not great but very good. Said special was a tomahawk rib eye but never said it was $95. Quite the surprise with the bill. Not reasonable. Great steak but not $95. Very loud. Good meal. Watch for surprises
Our server was incredible and so was the food.
Nice to have a romantic setting right in the resort. Was the night of a big football game so the bar was close and super loud. Only one vegan option on the menu - hope that expands.
Plating is done very nicely. Options were limited. Prices outrageous and quality not there. We regretted this meal.
I have to preface my review by saying it's a restaurant at a resort so expect it to be expensive. Also note that there is no view so be sure to get a table in the back of the restaurant so you don't look at the people who are coming in and out of the market next door. The food was just alright. Be forewarned that the onion soup actually shows up in an onion and you should pour the soup out of the onion into the bowl that accompanies it. My husband who loves salt said it was pretty salty. His steak was excellent though. I started with the tuna tartare and it came out luke warm, not bright in color, and did not have much flavor if you didn't use the sauces it came with. My grouper for the main was just okay. What really stood out to us was the service. Such a wonderful staff! Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Food was ok. Given that it’s supposed to be their “prime” restaurant I don’t think it’s worth the money.
Doralene was a great server and the food was amazing!
