Birthday dinner celebration.
Birthday dinner after the Panther game.....everything was fabulous. The s’more dessert was killer! Our server, Shelly was wonderful.
Celebrated my co-worker/friend’s birthday and the food was AMAZING!! Loved our server, Brenson. We’ll definitely be regulars.
Food was mediocre compared to all the raves and reviews I’ve seen, being a foodie, I was quite disappointed!
Food was decent, not +$150 decent. Very slow service. Four other tables that sat after us received their bills before we got our food.
I was super excited to go eat at 5 Church for my birthday dinner with friends because I had heard such good things about the restaurant. The server seemed annoyed to have a party of 9 which I didn’t understand and she never once said happy birthday even though I had put that I was celebrating on my reservation . Everything seemed super rushed and she did not offer dessert but rather have us leave! I wish the experience and service could have been better especially because I was celebrating my birthday with you guys. Will not return.
I LOVE going to 5Church. I always sit at the bar and love the vibe of the whole place. Andre is always very welcoming and has the best food and drink suggestions. 10/10 would recommend this place if you have never been! They treat you like family and the food is. To. Die. For.
My reservation requested a particular table. That was not honored.
I ordered med-rare on steak, but it was delivered well to med. Server responded quickly and initiated another steak. 10 minutes later it was delivered mostly on the rare side.
My wife ordered the salmon but with broccoli instead of kale. It was delivered with kale. Again server rectified the situation.
Restaurant was fair and did not charge for the broccoli or steak.
Service was less than desirable. Now I will say the waiter was over burdened with a larger party and several tables on top of that and he still tried very hard to provide good service. The food was good but overpriced for the options and portion sizes given. Would a side salad or any side be too much to ask for a $40 meal? Also, they were out of couple things on the menu, unfortunately, we didn’t find out about those items until about 10 minutes after ordering when the waiter came back and asked what we ordered again and replied with “Oh yeah, I remember we are out of that. We sat up top and the tables are a little close. I really enjoyed the drunk couple next to us trying to decide whether or not to drink or cancel their last round and felt like we were part of the conversation since we were practically at their table. As a first time diner here, they ask when they welcome you, I was not impressed with any part of the experience.
We love 5Church in Charleston due to setting and food. 5Church Charlotte was very good, but didn't equal original. Noise level makes a little difficult to converse and discuss menu selections with server, but he did his best. A B+ experience!
Despite having a brunch reservation, we were told they were full and we could get a table at the bar. The restaurant had 4-5 tables seated at the time out of 25 or so. Then they marked us as a no show on our opentable reservation even though we showed up, checked in, and ate brunch there. Staff seemed very poorly trained. Food was good though.
The Mimosa flat combinatuon we were served was terrible. Three of the four tasted awful. The people next to us had a different combination so we were not sure if you heard enough complaints or if they change every order but it was very disappointing. Food was great. Service was great.
Overall we enjoyed our experience at 5 Church. The drinks, appetizer, and desserts were excellent, however, we all found our entrée to be mediocre and not worth the cost. I would go back for cocktails and an appetizer, but most likely not for a meal.
Our service was excellent. Food was very good. The restaurant atmosphere was very pretty and welcoming.
We had a wonderful time. Kaylee was amazing. She had great suggestions and was very attentive. The food was on point and worth the money.
Food was delicious! Wished portions were more generous.
60 second steak was legit
Can't go wrong with it unless you're one of them weirdos that likes their steak well done dry
Don't leave without getting the s'mores trifle for dessert
Just get it
It's that good
Also had the special
Strawberry panna cotta
Which was even better
And and the service was great and friendly
Come drink or eat here
But, I say so both
Steaks were overcooked, very noisy, and service was a bit slow
While the service was great, the food was 'bland'. I had the spinach salad with chicken, which was lacking in dressing and chicken was a bit dry and lacked taste. One of my associates had steak burger that he was was very good, while the others had the lamb burgers that were good but not great by any means. Overall disappointed as it was recommended by a couple of people.
Honestly this was way overpriced for what it was. Also the server was super annoying
This was my second time dining with 5 Church and it did not disappoint! Great food, drinks, ambiance and service. We will definitely be back!
Came here after seeing the Lion King performance. Loved the vibes, our waiter was super helpful, and I had the best steak I've yet to taste! Would definitely come back.
5Church is a staple in the uptown area. If you have not been there you need to make time to go! Everything from the service to the amazing food (fried chicken, omg). It is always my first suggestion when asked where we should go for dinner!!
Interesting if not quirky menu, tables crowded together, loud if not obnoxious patrons, overpriced wine list and cocktails, bland lamb shank, industrious server who was run ragged but who did a great job for us; there are certainly many better places to dine
We were seated right away upon our arrival. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food was excellent but not overpriced. We had a great brunch experience. We will definitely be back.
Decor upscale/trendy. Service was hurried. Food good, but a hefty price tag....would not go back with guests
This was my first time here celebrating my birthday and I must say I will never be returning. Our waitress was horrible and slow about everything, our food came out cold and she offered no type of resolution or apology. The manager did work to resolve the issue however I was very unhappy with the entire experience, outside of that I made a reservation and still had to wait for a table. Horrible way to start my birthday celebration.
5Church was a great spot for a flavorful meal on our last day of vacation in Charlotte. We will be back!
Food took way to long to come out and it was over cooked and salty
As a culinary professional in the Charlotte area, I had heard many good things about 5Church in professional circles prior to dining there. The hearsay was not wrong. The Chef’s creative cuisine is complimented very well by the attentive staff and the ambiance of the beautifully decorated dining room. 5Church is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in the city.
Best salmon I've had! Great food and service! Would 100% recommend checking it out
We had an early reservation. They sat us at the only table in the restaurant that had the afternoon sun beaming in. The seat was patched with tape. There were literally no other customers in the place. They brought a steak knife for my meal that was covered in a sticky film that made the whole blade cloudy. It could not have been missed. The food was good but not worth the cost. The service was good. We were well attended to. It wasn’t one of those experiences that would make me say I wouldn’t return but, I can say that with the other choices nearby, I can’t think of a good reason to choose 5Church over the other options.
Other than not having in inventory our first two red wine selections, they made us an offer we couldn't refuse on the third attempt. Silver Oak Cabernet for $100, not $150, as advertised. We requested a bucket to get temp down to 60 or less.. then all was fine.
The beet salad app and escargot were delightful. She had miso salmon and loved it; I had lamb shank and it was awesome.
We also had a delicious ceviche to start..
Very nice bar scene too and conveniently local at 5th and Church a short walk from the Marriott downtown.
Brunch at 5 Church was fantastic. I had a hard time choosing, since all the meals looked delicious. Mimosas and sangria were also great. For a fun, lively brunch with friends, this is your place.
Awesome restaurant!!! I will visit again when I’m in town.
Beautiful ambiance! The food was perfection starting with the charcuterie and they even make broccoli to perfection! It was my boyfriends birthday and they seated us with a special birthday card for him in which no one has ever done at any restaurant I have been to. The wine was amazing, and everything was perfect! This place is great for big get together and later in the night a DJ came and the place got pretty bumpin! Will definitely be coming back!
The place is awesome.....will be back for sure. Great food, service, and atmosphere.
Great Place! I loved every moment of it. Will come back.
