We had a 2p.m. Reservation and wasn't seated until 2:30. I feel the atmosphere was great, but the food didn't live up to all the hype. Our daughter wanted ketchup with her meal and they told us they ran out. Maybe there dinner menu is better than what was available for lunch.
Absolutely amazing experience! Service was incredible and the food was delicious. Definitely get the sushi tots!
Beautiful place for dinner. The staff were very courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. We had an amazing time!
Food was great, but drinks were subpar. Ambience was alright, had higher hopes for being in an old church but decor choices, colors were just odd. Overall, just okay but with prices that surpass many of the higher end places in the area.
This was out first time checking out 5Church. Beautiful inside! We took our children with us, not realizing there wasn’t anything for children to eat. So that was the first downside. Our waiter was friendly but barely available. The food was good but I’ve had better. They offer a very generous military discount that honestly made it worth the trip.
Loved the environment and food - some of the staff need a little “southern hospitality training”
Good food, service and atmosphere! Would definitely recommend!
Great glad we had a reservation
Absolutely delicious, service was impeccable! Would definitely go back, best porkchop I’ve ever had
A little noisy but usually great places are! Everything about this place was wonderful.
First night of vacation dinner and everything was fabulous! The ambience in the restaurant is so unique - from the ART OF WAR written on the ceiling to the angel wings on the bar pendants. Anferny, our server, was attentive, friendly and prompt, meeting all of our needs. I would highly recommend eating here!
This was our first visit to 5 Church. Our server, Jane was remarkable in her knowledge of the menu and food prep and her willingness to check with the kitchen to get answers for our questions. She didn't fake knowledge. Out sushi app was very tasty and well presented. I had the 9 oz steak that was like butter and perfectly cooked. My husband's ravioli was wonderful. The only neg was that the green beans were a bit woody.
Cool bar, we’ll be back! Three Henrys Rosé wine was exceptional!
Incredible space! Servers & hostess outstanding! Food is to die for! A little loud, can’t be helped in that space. DEF need a reservation.
Nice place that looks like a church inside, good food and good service, will recommend
First time. Booked reservation two months in advance. Hostess sat us in a booth next to two other people. Ordered drinks.. took 15 minutes to get them and they were made wrong. I ordered an old fashioned my date ordered a Cosmopolitan. Ordered another drink took another 15 minutes to get and they were half right. Ordered the duck…fat wasnt rendered.. very chewy. Ordered dessert, twix dessert…it was frozen and needed a knife to cut. I’ll never be coming back.
Our waitress was absolutely wonderful and made excellent recommendations! The atmosphere and building are beautiful and I would 10/10 recommend 5Church for any occasion! (It was a first date for us and it went great!!)
Excellent fish dish. Excellent cocktails! Unique dining space.
Very crowded even at 5:30 pm on a Tuesday so make reservations early. Big open church building . Get’s loud.
Tables set to maximum capacity. Had a nice conversation with the couple and their cute two year old son seated 1ft away next to us.
Enjoy the experience. Enjoy Charleston! So glad to be able to enjoy beautiful places and people again.
The food was AMAZING. The ambiance was AMAZING. The service was AMAZING. I have never had a more perfect meal when dining out!
Amazing service and a super cool design.
Amazing ambiance in a beautiful old church. The menu looks average but the food is over the top delicious.
We had the best server! Totally knew the menu. Very patient and charming. My husband had the fried chicken. Amazing! So much food. I had a delicious salad with watermelon. Super fresh.
Visiting Charleston with friends. When looking for a restaurant for dinner, I was intrigued with the spot as it was a church in a former life. The interior is beautiful. Food, drinks and service were impeccable. Liz was our server and she was pleasant to work with and very knowledgeable. A great evening!
We started our dinner with the meatball appetizer... delicious and enjoyed the lamb burger for our main course which was perfect! The atmosphere and service was spot on... a true must for a fun casual dinner!
I sampled the food on a food tour the day before we had lunch here. The food was definitely better on the food tour. Our party of four was disappointed with our food when we went back. The venue is definitely unique but the food is just “ok”. I had better on my trip to Charleston.
Excellent brunch. The holy sh_t breakfast was worthy of its name. Service was top notch. Only complaint is high cost for two shots of jack.
While restaurant was beautiful, food was not very good. Both my wife and I ordered the Lamb Burger. It was overdone even though we asked for medium rare, condiments of Gorgonzola, arugula and onion jam were sparse at best. Brioche bun was STALE. Very disappointed.
average meal but server was fabulous as well as the ambiance :) thank you!
Amazing experience at 5church! Charleston was flooded the night we went for my cousin’s bachelorette party they took us from the back door walked us all threw and gave complimentary champagne for the bride!
What a fabulous and unique dining experience. Food and service was excellent. Our server went a step above....loved the whole experience EVEN the rain that flooded the street LOL
This is an instagramable place to dine hands down and the food was good but for the more than normal prices, the drinks were small and plates of food needed more attention to flavor and presentation. We are thinking they had an off night due to the heavy rain and weather. Many choices in the area and sides roads, recommend a drink at the bar for photos.
Excellent food and service. The homemade pasta was fabulous and the appetizer meatballs were exceptional. Also enjoyed the cronuts for dessert. It rained with flash flooding while we were there and the server never rushed us to leave. The manager even walked the route to our nearby hotel to confirm it was clear for us to leave. Would definitely recommend for outstanding service.
Daughter’s 21st birthday
Our waitress was outstanding. Helped us even through the storms and street flooding.
Clara was the most incredible waitress! Might be the best meal I’ve ever had. The timing of the food coming out was perfect as well. Anyone visiting Charleston absolutely needs to have this restaurant on their list.
Our waiter never greeted us nor did he ever tell us his name until asked. Our food was brought to our table at different times for each person not by just a few minutes either. The food was tasty however, we thought we were going to get to sit in the church portion of the building not knowing there was another side to it and we got sat in the additional side so we were not in the room which we wanted to be in with all the ambience. Then upon leaving we were rushed out by the hostess who was rude. In general I would not go back to this restaurant ever again.
Most beautiful in town, fantastic food, moderate service from our server, everyone else was amazing. My server cool and perhaps slightly rude. But he seemed friendly to others. But most were awesome.
Unique ambiance with rich history and great food. Definitely worth the trip!
Food was great. Service was great. Would totally recommend to friends. Must go.
This is clearly the place to go if you are celebrating a wedding or graduation. Huge groups of women screaming at the tops of their lungs and having a grand time. Not the place to go for a couple on their own. Pimento cheese fabulous as was the tuna poke.
Loved our waitress from Somerville.
Good food although limited menu. Ver busy with batchlorette parties so service was slow with some mistakes made.
